Preghiera del re fuggiasco

1 Al direttore del coro. Per strumenti a corda. Di Davide. O Dio, ascolta il mio grido, sii attento alla mia preghiera. 2 Dall’estremità della terra io grido a te con cuore affranto; conducimi tu alla rocca che è troppo alta per me; 3 poiché tu sei stato un rifugio per me, una torre fortificata davanti al nemico. 4 Abiterò nella tua tenda per sempre, mi riparerò all’ombra delle tue ali. [Pausa] 5 Poiché tu, o Dio, hai esaudito i miei voti, mi hai dato l’eredità di chi teme il tuo nome. 6 Aggiungi altri giorni alla vita del re, durino i suoi anni per molte generazioni! 7 Sieda sul trono in presenza di Dio per sempre! Ordina alla bontà e alla verità di custodirlo; 8 così loderò il tuo nome per sempre e adempirò ogni giorno le promesse che ti ho fatte.

(Sal 17,1) 3 Vom Ende der Erde rufe ich zu dir, weil mein Herz verzagt; du wollest mich auf den Felsen leiten, der mir zu hoch ist. (Sal 27,5) 4 Denn du bist mir eine Zuflucht geworden, ein starker Turm vor dem Feind. (Prov 18,10) 5 Ich möchte weilen in deinem Zelt in Ewigkeit, mich bergen im Schutz^[1] deiner Flügel. // (Sal 17,8; Sal 91,2) 6 Denn du, Gott, hast auf meine Gelübde gehört, hast ⟨mir⟩ gegeben das Erbteil^[2] derer, die deinen Namen fürchten. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I, (Sal 18,2; Sal 77,3) 3 for you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy. (Sal 14,6; Prov 18,10) 4 Let me dwell in your tent forever! Let me take refuge under the shelter of your wings! (Sal 15,1; Sal 17,8; Sal 27,4) 5 For you, O God, have heard my vows; you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name. 6 Prolong the life of the king; may his years endure to all generations! (Sal 21,4; Sal 63,11) 7 May he be enthroned forever before God; appoint steadfast love and faithfulness to watch over him!
