(Ps 31,21)5Sie sagen: »Kommt, wir wollen das Volk Israel vernichten und die Erinnerung an diese Nation aus dem Gedächtnis der Menschen auslöschen.« (Est 3,5)6Denn sie waren sich einig und haben ein Bündnis gegen dich geschlossen – (Ps 2,2)7die Edomiter und Ismaeliter, Moabiter und Hagariter, (1Mo 25,12; 2Chr 20,1; Ps 137,7)8Gebaliter, Ammoniter und Amalekiter und die Völker aus dem Philisterland und aus Tyrus. (1Sam 4,1; 1Sam 15,22; 2Chr 20,10; Hes 27,2)9Auch Assyrien hat sich ihnen angeschlossen und hat sich mit den Nachkommen Lots verbündet.10Besiege sie wie die Midianiter oder wie Sisera und Jabin am Bach Kischon. (Ri 4,22)11In En-Dor wurden sie getötet, und ihre Leichen verrotteten auf der Erde.12Lass ihre Fürsten sterben wie Oreb und Seeb und ihre Anführer umkommen wie Sebach und Zalmunna, (Ri 7,25; Ri 8,21)13denn sie sagten: »Wir wollen das Land Gottes erobern!« (2Chr 20,11)14Mein Gott, blase sie fort wie Staub, verwehe sie wie Spreu im Wind!15Wie ein Feuer im Wald wütet und eine Flamme Berge in Brand setzt, (5Mo 32,22; Jes 9,17)16so verfolge sie mit deinem Sturm und erschrecke sie mit deinen Unwettern. (Hi 9,17; Ps 58,10)17Lass sie zum Spott werden, dass sie anfangen, HERR, nach deinem Namen zu fragen. (Ps 109,29)18Beschämt sollen sie sein und sich erschrecken. Was sie auch tun, es soll ihnen misslingen,19bis sie erkennen, dass du allein HERR genannt wirst, der Herrscher über die ganze Erde. (Ps 59,14; Jes 45,21)
1God, don’t remain silent. Don’t refuse to listen. Do something, God.2See how your enemies are growling like dogs. See how they are rising up against you.3They make clever plans against your people. They make evil plans against those you love.4‘Come’, they say. ‘Let’s destroy that whole nation. Then the name of Israel won’t be remembered anymore.’5All of them agree on the evil plans they have made. They join forces against you.6Their forces include the people of Edom, Ishmael, Moab and Hagar.7They also include the people of Byblos, Ammon, Amalek, Philistia and Tyre.8Even Assyria has joined them to give strength to the people of Moab and Ammon.9Do to them what you did to the people of Midian. Do to them what you did to Sisera and Jabin at the River Kishon.10Sisera and Jabin died near the town of Endor. Their bodies were left on the ground like human waste.11Do to the nobles of your enemies what you did to Oreb and Zeeb. Do to all their princes what you did to Zebah and Zalmunna.12They said, ‘Let’s take over the grasslands that belong to God.’13My God, make them like straw that the wind blows away. Make them like tumbleweed.14Destroy them as fire burns up a forest. Destroy them as a flame sets mountains on fire.15Chase them with your mighty winds. Terrify them with your storm.16LORD, put them to shame so that they will seek you.17May they always be filled with terror and shame. May they die in dishonour.18May you, the LORD, let your enemies know who you are. You alone are the Most High God over the whole earth.

(Ps 28,1; Ps 50,1)2For behold, your enemies make an uproar; those who hate you have raised their heads. (Ri 8,28; Ps 2,1)3They lay crafty plans against your people; they consult together against your treasured ones. (Neh 4,8; Ps 27,5; Ps 31,20)4They say, “Come, let us wipe them out as a nation; let the name of Israel be remembered no more!” (Est 3,6; Ps 74,8; Jer 48,2)5For they conspire with one accord; against you they make a covenant—6the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites, (1Mo 25,12; 1Chr 5,10; 2Chr 20,10; Ps 137,7)7Gebal and Ammon and Amalek, Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre; (Jos 13,5; 1Sam 4,1; 1Sam 15,2; Ps 83,6; Hes 27,3; Am 1,6; Am 1,9)8Asshur also has joined them; they are the strong arm of the children of Lot. (5Mo 2,9; 5Mo 2,19; 2Kön 15,19)9Do to them as you did to Midian, as to Sisera and Jabin at the river Kishon, (4Mo 31,7; Ri 4,7; Ri 4,15; Ri 4,24; Ri 5,21; Jes 9,4)10who were destroyed at En-dor, who became dung for the ground. (Jos 17,11; 1Sam 28,7; Hi 20,7)11Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna, (Ri 7,25; Ri 8,3; Ri 8,5)12who said, “Let us take possession for ourselves of the pastures of God.” (2Chr 20,11)13O my God, make them like whirling dust,[1] like chaff before the wind. (Hi 13,25; Hi 21,18; Ps 1,4; Jes 17,13)14As fire consumes the forest, as the flame sets the mountains ablaze, (5Mo 32,22; Jes 9,18; Jes 10,16)15so may you pursue them with your tempest and terrify them with your hurricane! (Hi 9,17)16Fill their faces with shame, that they may seek your name, O Lord. (Hi 10,15; Ps 35,4; Ps 35,26)17Let them be put to shame and dismayed forever; let them perish in disgrace, (Ps 35,4)18that they may know that you alone, whose name is the Lord, are the Most High over all the earth.
