1Vindicate me, Lord, for I have led a blameless life; I have trusted in the Lord and have not faltered.2Test me, Lord, and try me, examine my heart and my mind;3for I have always been mindful of your unfailing love and have lived in reliance on your faithfulness.4I do not sit with the deceitful, nor do I associate with hypocrites.5I abhor the assembly of evildoers and refuse to sit with the wicked.6I wash my hands in innocence, and go about your altar, Lord,7proclaiming aloud your praise and telling of all your wonderful deeds.8Lord, I love the house where you live, the place where your glory dwells.9Do not take away my soul along with sinners, my life with those who are bloodthirsty,10in whose hands are wicked schemes, whose right hands are full of bribes.11I lead a blameless life; deliver me and be merciful to me.12My feet stand on level ground; in the great congregation I will praise the Lord.

Preghiera del giusto nella persecuzione
1Di Davide. Fammi giustizia, o Signore, perché io cammino nell’integrità e confido nel Signore senza vacillare.2Scrutami, o Signore, e mettimi alla prova; purifica le miei reni e il mio cuore.3Poiché ho davanti agli occhi la tua benevolenza e cammino nella tua verità.4Io non siedo in compagnia di uomini bugiardi, non vado con gente ipocrita.5Detesto l’assemblea dei malvagi, non vado a sedermi tra gli empi.6Lavo le mie mani nell’innocenza e così faccio il giro del tuo altare, o Signore,7per far risuonare voci di lode, per raccontare tutte le tue meraviglie.8O Signore, io amo trattenermi nella tua casa, nel luogo dove risiede la tua gloria.9Non mettermi in un fascio con i peccatori, non associarmi agli uomini sanguinari,10nelle cui mani è scelleratezza e la cui destra è colma di regali corruttori.11Quanto a me, io cammino nella mia integrità; liberami, abbi pietà di me.12Il mio piede sta fermo in luogo piano. Nelle assemblee io benedirò il Signore.
