Psalm 127 New International Version from Biblica 1 Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labour in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain. 2 In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat – for he grants sleep to those he loves. 3 Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. 4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. 5 Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. 1 إِنْ لَمْ يَبْنِ الرَّبُّ الْبَيْتَ، فَبَاطِلاً يَتْعَبُ الْبَنَّاؤُونَ. وَإِنْ لَمْ يَحْرُسِ الرَّبُّ الْمَدِينَةَ فَبَاطِلاً يَسْهَرُ الْحَارِسُ. 2 بَاطِلاً تَكِدُّونَ مِنَ الْفَجْرِ الْمُبَكِّرِ وَإِلَى وَقْتٍ مُتَأَخِّرٍ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فِي سَبِيلِ لُقْمَةِ الْعَيْشِ، فَإِنَّ الرَّبَّ يَسُدُّ حَاجَةَ أَحِبَّائِهِ حَتَّى وَهُمْ نِيَامٌ. 3 هُوَذَا الْبَنُونَ مِيرَاثٌ مِنْ عِنْدِ الرَّبِّ، وَالأَوْلادُ ثَوَابٌ مِنْهُ. 4 أَبْنَاءُ الشَّبِيبَةِ مِثْلُ سِهَامٍ فِي يَدِ جَبَّارٍ مُتَمَرِّسٍ. 5 طُوبَى لِلَّذِي مَلأَ جُعْبَتَهُ مِنْهُمْ، فَإِنَّهُمْ لَا يَخِيبُونَ حِينَ يُوَاجِهُونَ الخُصُومَ فِي مَجْلِسِ القَضَاءِ عِنْدَ بَوَّابَةِ الْمَدِينَةِ.
