1The word of the Lord came to me:2‘Son of man, will you judge her? Will you judge this city of bloodshed? Then confront her with all her detestable practices3and say: “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: you city that brings on herself doom by shedding blood in her midst and defiles herself by making idols,4you have become guilty because of the blood you have shed and have become defiled by the idols you have made. You have brought your days to a close, and the end of your years has come. Therefore I will make you an object of scorn to the nations and a laughing-stock to all the countries.5Those who are near and those who are far away will mock you, you infamous city, full of turmoil.6‘ “See how each of the princes of Israel who are in you uses his power to shed blood.7In you they have treated father and mother with contempt; in you they have oppressed the foreigner and ill-treated the fatherless and the widow.8You have despised my holy things and desecrated my Sabbaths.9In you are slanderers who are bent on shedding blood; in you are those who eat at the mountain shrines and commit lewd acts.10In you are those who dishonour their father’s bed; in you are those who violate women during their period, when they are ceremonially unclean.11In you one man commits a detestable offence with his neighbour’s wife, another shamefully defiles his daughter-in-law, and another violates his sister, his own father’s daughter.12In you are people who accept bribes to shed blood; you take interest and make a profit from the poor. You extort unjust gain from your neighbours. And you have forgotten me, declares the Sovereign Lord.13‘ “I will surely strike my hands together at the unjust gain you have made and at the blood you have shed in your midst.14Will your courage endure or your hands be strong in the day I deal with you? I the Lord have spoken, and I will do it.15I will disperse you among the nations and scatter you through the countries; and I will put an end to your uncleanness.16When you have been defiled[1] in the eyes of the nations, you will know that I am the Lord.” ’17Then the word of the Lord came to me:18‘Son of man, the people of Israel have become dross to me; all of them are the copper, tin, iron and lead left inside a furnace. They are but the dross of silver.19Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: “Because you have all become dross, I will gather you into Jerusalem.20As silver, copper, iron, lead and tin are gathered into a furnace to be melted with a fiery blast, so will I gather you in my anger and my wrath and put you inside the city and melt you.21I will gather you and I will blow on you with my fiery wrath, and you will be melted inside her.22As silver is melted in a furnace, so you will be melted inside her, and you will know that I the Lord have poured out my wrath on you.” ’23Again the word of the Lord came to me:24‘Son of man, say to the land, “You are a land that has not been cleansed or rained on in the day of wrath.”25There is a conspiracy of her princes[2] within her like a roaring lion tearing its prey; they devour people, take treasures and precious things and make many widows within her.26Her priests do violence to my law and profane my holy things; they do not distinguish between the holy and the common; they teach that there is no difference between the unclean and the clean; and they shut their eyes to the keeping of my Sabbaths, so that I am profaned among them.27Her officials within her are like wolves tearing their prey; they shed blood and kill people to make unjust gain.28Her prophets whitewash these deeds for them by false visions and lying divinations. They say, “This is what the Sovereign Lord says” – when the Lord has not spoken.29The people of the land practise extortion and commit robbery; they oppress the poor and needy and ill-treat the foreigner, denying them justice.30‘I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so that I would not have to destroy it, but I found no-one.31So I will pour out my wrath on them and consume them with my fiery anger, bringing down on their own heads all they have done, declares the Sovereign Lord.’

(De 32:22; Ps 68:3; Jer 9:6)22Wie das Silber im Schmelzofen geschmolzen wird, so sollt auch ihr darin geschmolzen werden, und ihr sollt erkennen, dass ich, der HERR, meinen grimmigen Zorn über euch ausgegossen habe. (Eze 7:9; Eze 22:31; Re 16:1)23Und das Wort des HERRN erging an mich folgendermaßen:24Menschensohn, sprich zu ihm: Du bist ein Land, das nicht gereinigt worden ist, das keinen Regenguss empfangen hat am Tag des Zorns. (Eze 48:11; Ho 7:8)25Seine Propheten haben sich in ihm miteinander verschworen. Gleich einem brüllenden Löwen, der den Raub zerreißt, verschlingen sie Seelen, reißen Reichtum und Gut an sich und machen viele Witwen darin. (Jer 23:14; La 2:14; La 4:13; Eze 34:3; Mic 3:5; Mic 3:11; 2Pe 2:3; 2Pe 2:15)26Seine Priester tun meinem Gesetz Gewalt an und entweihen meine Heiligtümer; sie machen keinen Unterschied zwischen dem Heiligen und dem Unheiligen und lehren nicht, zu unterscheiden zwischen dem Unreinen und dem Reinen. Sie verbergen ihre Augen vor meinen Sabbaten, und ich werde entheiligt in ihrer Mitte. (Le 10:10; Le 11:47; Le 22:2; Eze 23:38; Eze 44:23; Zep 3:4; Mal 2:7)27Seine Fürsten, die darin wohnen, sind wie Wölfe, die den Raub zerreißen; sie vergießen Blut, verderben Seelen, nur um unrechtmäßigen Gewinn zu machen. (Isa 1:23; Eze 13:19; Eze 22:6; Eze 22:25; Mic 3:1; Zep 3:3)28Und seine Propheten streichen ihnen mit Tünche darüber: Sie schauen Trug und wahrsagen ihnen Lügen und sagen: »So spricht GOTT, der Herr!«, während doch der HERR gar nicht geredet hat. (Isa 30:10; Jer 14:14; Eze 13:10; Eze 13:16)29Das Volk des Landes ist gewalttätig und begeht Raub; es unterdrückt die Armen und Bedürftigen, und den Fremdling misshandelt es gegen alles Recht! (Ex 23:9; Le 19:33; Ps 94:5; Jer 5:28; Eze 22:7; Mic 6:12)30Und ich suchte unter ihnen einen Mann, der die Mauer zumauern und vor mir in den Riss treten könnte für das Land, damit ich es nicht zugrunde richte; aber ich fand keinen. (Ex 32:11; Isa 59:16; Jer 5:1; Eze 13:5)31Da schüttete ich meinen Zorn über sie aus, rieb sie auf im Feuer meines Grimmes und brachte ihren Wandel auf ihren Kopf, spricht GOTT, der Herr. Sie essen von den Höhenopfern und treiben Schandtaten in deiner Mitte.10Sie decken die Blöße der Väter auf und nötigen Frauen während ihrer Unreinheit. (Le 18:7; Le 18:9; Le 18:15; Le 18:19)11Sie treiben Gräuel mit der Frau ihres Nächsten; sie entehren ihre eigene Schwiegertochter durch Schandtat; sie tun ihren eigenen Schwestern Gewalt an, den Töchtern ihres Vaters.12Sie lassen sich bestechen, um Blut zu vergießen. Du nimmst Zinsen und Aufschlag und suchst unrechten Gewinn an deinem Nächsten mit Gewalt – und mich vergisst du!, spricht Gott der HERR. (Ex 22:24)13Siehe, ich schlage meine Hände zusammen über den unrechten Gewinn, den du gemacht hast, und über das Blut, das in deiner Mitte vergossen ist.14Meinst du aber, dein Herz kann standhalten oder deine Hände werden festbleiben zu der Zeit, wenn ich an dir handle? Ich, der HERR, habe es geredet und will’s auch tun15und will dich zerstreuen unter die Völker und dich verstoßen in die Länder und will mit deiner Unreinheit ein Ende machen;16und du wirst durch eigenes Tun entweiht vor den Völkern. Dann wirst du erfahren, dass ich der HERR bin.
Das Gleichnis vom Schmelzofen
17Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir:18Du Menschenkind, das Haus Israel ist mir zu Schlacken geworden; sie alle sind Kupfer, Zinn, Eisen und Blei im Ofen; ja, zu Silberschlacken sind sie geworden. (Isa 1:22; Jer 6:28)19Darum, so spricht Gott der HERR: Weil ihr denn alle Schlacken geworden seid, siehe, so will ich euch alle in Jerusalem zusammenbringen.20Wie man Silber, Kupfer, Eisen, Blei und Zinn im Ofen zusammenbringt, dass man ein Feuer darunter anfacht und es zerschmelzen lässt, so will ich auch euch in meinem Zorn und Grimm zusammenbringen, hineintun und schmelzen.21Ja, ich will euch sammeln und das Feuer meines Zorns gegen euch anfachen, dass ihr darin zerschmelzen müsst.22Wie das Silber im Ofen zerschmilzt, so sollt auch ihr darin zerschmelzen und sollt erfahren, dass ich, der HERR, meinen Grimm über euch ausgeschüttet habe.
Die Schuld aller Stände im Lande
23Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir:24Du Menschenkind, sprich zu ihnen: Du bist ein Land, das nicht gereinigt wurde, das nicht beregnet wurde zur Zeit des Zorns,25dessen Fürsten in seiner Mitte sind wie brüllende Löwen, wenn sie rauben; sie fressen Menschen, reißen Gut und Geld an sich und machen viele zu Witwen im Lande. (Ps 14:4; Eze 34:3; Eze 34:8; Zep 3:3)26Seine Priester tun meinem Gesetz Gewalt an und entweihen, was mir heilig ist; sie machen zwischen heilig und unheilig keinen Unterschied und lehren nicht, was rein oder unrein ist, und vor meinen Sabbaten schließen sie die Augen; so werde ich unter ihnen entheiligt. (Le 10:10; Eze 44:23; Zep 3:4)27Die Oberen in seiner Mitte sind wie reißende Wölfe, Blut zu vergießen und Menschen umzubringen um ihrer Habgier willen.28Und seine Propheten streichen ihnen mit Tünche darüber, haben Truggesichte und wahrsagen ihnen Lügen; sie sagen: »So spricht Gott der HERR«, wo doch der HERR gar nicht geredet hat. (Eze 13:6; Eze 13:10)29Das Volk des Landes übt Gewalt; sie rauben drauflos und bedrücken die Armen und Elenden und tun den Fremdlingen Gewalt an gegen alles Recht.30Ich suchte unter ihnen, ob jemand eine Mauer ziehen und in die Bresche vor mir treten würde für das Land, damit ich’s nicht vernichten müsste; aber ich fand keinen. (Eze 13:5)31Darum schüttete ich meinen Zorn über sie aus, und mit dem Feuer meines Grimmes machte ich ihnen ein Ende und ließ so ihr Tun auf ihren Kopf kommen, spricht Gott der HERR. (Eze 21:36)
