from Biblica1[1] Oh, that my head were a spring of water and my eyes a fountain of tears! I would weep day and night for the slain of my people.2Oh, that I had in the desert a lodging place for travellers, so that I might leave my people and go away from them; for they are all adulterers, a crowd of unfaithful people.3‘They make ready their tongue like a bow, to shoot lies; it is not by truth that they triumph[2] in the land. They go from one sin to another; they do not acknowledge me,’ declares the Lord.4‘Beware of your friends; do not trust anyone in your clan. For every one of them is a deceiver,[3] and every friend a slanderer.5Friend deceives friend, and no-one speaks the truth. They have taught their tongues to lie; they weary themselves with sinning.6You[4] live in the midst of deception; in their deceit they refuse to acknowledge me,’ declares the Lord.7Therefore this is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘See, I will refine and test them, for what else can I do because of the sin of my people?8Their tongue is a deadly arrow; it speaks deceitfully. With their mouths they all speak cordially to their neighbours, but in their hearts they set traps for them.9Should I not punish them for this?’ declares the Lord. ‘Should I not avenge myself on such a nation as this?’10I will weep and wail for the mountains and take up a lament concerning the wilderness grasslands. They are desolate and untravelled, and the lowing of cattle is not heard. The birds have all fled and the animals are gone.11‘I will make Jerusalem a heap of ruins, a haunt of jackals; and I will lay waste the towns of Judah so that no-one can live there.’12Who is wise enough to understand this? Who has been instructed by the Lord and can explain it? Why has the land been ruined and laid waste like a desert that no-one can cross?13The Lord said, ‘It is because they have forsaken my law, which I set before them; they have not obeyed me or followed my law.14Instead, they have followed the stubbornness of their hearts; they have followed the Baals, as their ancestors taught them.’15Therefore this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: ‘See, I will make this people eat bitter food and drink poisoned water.16I will scatter them among nations that neither they nor their ancestors have known, and I will pursue them with the sword until I have made an end of them.’17This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘Consider now! Call for the wailing women to come; send for the most skilful of them.18Let them come quickly and wail over us till our eyes overflow with tears and water streams from our eyelids.19The sound of wailing is heard from Zion: “How ruined we are! How great is our shame! We must leave our land because our houses are in ruins.” ’20Now, you women, hear the word of the Lord; open your ears to the words of his mouth. Teach your daughters how to wail; teach one another a lament.21Death has climbed in through our windows and has entered our fortresses; it has removed the children from the streets and the young men from the public squares.22Say, ‘This is what the Lord declares: ‘ “Dead bodies will lie like dung on the open field, like cut corn behind the reaper, with no-one to gather them.” ’23This is what the Lord says: ‘Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches,24but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,’ declares the Lord.25‘The days are coming,’ declares the Lord, ‘when I will punish all who are circumcised only in the flesh –26Egypt, Judah, Edom, Ammon, Moab and all who live in the wilderness in distant places.[5] For all these nations are really uncircumcised, and even the whole house of Israel is uncircumcised in heart.’
1Wenn ich doch eine Herberge wüsste, irgendwo in der Wüste, wo Karawanen die Nacht verbringen, dann würde ich mein Volk verlassen und mich dorthin zurückziehen. Denn Ehebrecher sind sie, einer wie der andere, eine Bande von Betrügern!2Der HERR spricht: »Sie schießen ihre Lügen ab wie Pfeile; sie besitzen die Macht im Land, weil sie betrügen, und nicht, weil sie die Wahrheit lieben. Sie begehen ein Verbrechen nach dem anderen und wollen mich nicht als ihren Gott anerkennen.3Nimm dich vor deinem Freund in Acht! Trau deinem eigenen Bruder nicht über den Weg! Denn ein Bruder betrügt den anderen,[1] und ein Freund wird vom anderen verleumdet. (Ge 27:36)4Sie überlisten sich gegenseitig, keines ihrer Worte ist wahr. Sie haben sich an das Lügen gewöhnt und können das Böse nicht lassen.5Unter Betrügern wohnst du, die vor lauter Lug und Trug von mir, dem HERRN, nichts mehr wissen wollen.6Darum sage ich, der HERR, der allmächtige Gott: Ich will sie schmelzen und läutern wie Metall im Feuer; was sollte ich sonst mit meinem Volk tun?7Jedes ihrer Worte ist ein tödlicher Pfeil, sie lügen unentwegt. Nach außen geben sie sich freundlich, aber insgeheim stellt einer dem anderen Fallen.8Und das sollte ich ungestraft lassen, ich, der HERR? Muss ich ein solches Volk nicht zur Rechenschaft ziehen?«
Stimmt Klagelieder an!
9Ich klage und weine über das Bergland, ich stimme ein Trauerlied an über die Weiden in der Steppe. Denn sie sind verbrannt, kein Hirte zieht hindurch, und man hört keine Herden mehr. Die Tiere sind geflohen, selbst die Vögel sind fortgezogen.10Der Herr sagt: »Ich werde Jerusalem zum Schutthaufen machen, wo die Schakale hausen; die Städte Judas verwandle ich in eine Wüste, in der niemand wohnt!«11Wer ist weise genug, um zu verstehen, warum dies so kommen musste? Wem hat der HERR gezeigt, wieso das Land verödet und verdorrt ist wie eine Wüste, die keiner durchquert? Wer kann es erklären?12Der HERR antwortet: »Ich habe es so weit kommen lassen, weil sie mein Gesetz missachtet haben, nicht danach lebten und nicht auf mich hörten.13Stattdessen taten sie, wozu ihr Eigensinn sie trieb, und liefen den Götzen nach, wie sie es von ihren Vorfahren gelernt hatten.14Darum sage ich, der HERR, der allmächtige Gott Israels: Ich werde diesem Volk bittere Kost[2] zu essen und giftiges Wasser zu trinken geben.15Ich will sie unter fremde Völker zerstreuen, die weder sie noch ihre Vorfahren gekannt haben; mit dem Schwert verfolge ich sie, bis sie vernichtet sind.16Ich, der HERR, der allmächtige Gott, fordere euch auf: Begreift doch endlich, wie schlimm es um euch steht! Holt die Klageweiber, ja, lasst die weisen Frauen kommen!«17»Schnell«, rufen die Judäer, »sie sollen über uns die Klage anstimmen, bis wir in Tränen ausbrechen und nicht mehr aufhören zu weinen!«18Da! Vom Berg Zion hört man laute Klagerufe: »Die Stadt ist verwüstet, welch unerträgliche Schande! Wir müssen unser Land verlassen, denn unsere Häuser sind zerstört!«19Hört, ihr Frauen, was der HERR euch sagt, achtet auf jedes Wort: »Bringt euren Töchtern die Totenklage bei, lernt miteinander dieses Trauerlied:20›Durch die Fenster stieg der Tod herein in unsre Häuser und Paläste. Draußen auf der Straße bringt er unsre Kinder um, und auf dem Marktplatz schlachtet er die jungen Männer ab!‹«21So spricht der HERR: »Die Leichen werden überall verstreut liegen wie Dünger auf dem Feld, wie abgemähtes Korn, das niemand aufliest.22Ich, der HERR, sage: Ein Weiser soll nicht stolz sein auf seine Weisheit, der Starke nicht auf seine Stärke und ein Reicher nicht auf seinen Reichtum.23Nein, Grund zum Stolz hat nur, wer mich erkennt und begreift, dass ich der HERR bin. Ich bin barmherzig und sorge auf der Erde für Recht und Gerechtigkeit. Denn daran habe ich Gefallen! Mein Wort gilt!24-25Es kommt die Zeit, in der ich die Ägypter, Judäer, Edomiter, Ammoniter und Moabiter strafen werde sowie alle Beduinenstämme der Wüste, die sich das Haar an den Schläfen stutzen. Denn all diese Völker halten sich zwar an die Vorschrift der Beschneidung, aber ihr Herz gehört mir nicht[3] – und selbst in Israel ist es nicht anders!«
