from Biblica1The Lord then said to Noah, ‘Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation.2Take with you seven pairs of every kind of clean animal, a male and its mate, and one pair of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate,3and also seven pairs of every kind of bird, male and female, to keep their various kinds alive throughout the earth.4Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature I have made.’5And Noah did all that the Lord commanded him.6Noah was six hundred years old when the floodwaters came on the earth.7And Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives entered the ark to escape the waters of the flood.8Pairs of clean and unclean animals, of birds and of all creatures that move along the ground,9male and female, came to Noah and entered the ark, as God had commanded Noah.10And after the seven days the floodwaters came on the earth.11In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, on the seventeenth day of the second month – on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened.12And rain fell on the earth for forty days and forty nights.13On that very day Noah and his sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, together with his wife and the wives of his three sons, entered the ark.14They had with them every wild animal according to its kind, all livestock according to their kinds, every creature that moves along the ground according to its kind and every bird according to its kind, everything with wings.15Pairs of all creatures that have the breath of life in them came to Noah and entered the ark.16The animals going in were male and female of every living thing, as God had commanded Noah. Then the Lord shut him in.17For forty days the flood kept coming on the earth, and as the waters increased they lifted the ark high above the earth.18The waters rose and increased greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the surface of the water.19They rose greatly on the earth, and all the high mountains under the entire heavens were covered.20The waters rose and covered the mountains to a depth of more than fifteen cubits.[1]21Every living thing that moved on land perished – birds, livestock, wild animals, all the creatures that swarm over the earth, and all mankind.22Everything on dry land that had the breath of life in its nostrils died.23Every living thing on the face of the earth was wiped out; people and animals and the creatures that move along the ground and the birds were wiped from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those with him in the ark.24The waters flooded the earth for a hundred and fifty days.
Noach, seine Familie und die Tiere gehen in die Arche
1Dann sagte der HERR zu Noach: »Geh mit deiner Familie in die Arche! Du bist der Einzige unter den Menschen, der vor mir als gerecht bestehen kann.2Nimm von allen reinen Tieren je sieben Paare mit, aber von den unreinen Tieren nur jeweils ein Männchen und ein Weibchen. (Le 11:1)3Auch von den verschiedenen Vögeln nimm je sieben Paare mit. Ich möchte, dass jede Art erhalten bleibt und sich wieder auf der Erde fortpflanzen kann.4Noch sieben Tage, dann werde ich es vierzig Tage und Nächte lang ununterbrochen regnen lassen. Alles Leben auf der Erde, das ich geschaffen habe, wird dann ausgelöscht.«5Noach machte alles genau so, wie der HERR es befohlen hatte.6Er war damals 600 Jahre alt, als die große Flut über die Erde hereinbrach.
Die Sintflut kommt auf die Erde
7Noach ging also mit seiner Frau, seinen Söhnen und seinen Schwiegertöchtern in die Arche.8Von allen reinen und unreinen Landtieren sowie von allen Vögeln und den am Boden kriechenden Tieren9ließ er je ein Paar mit sich in die Arche gehen, ein Männchen und ein Weibchen, wie Gott es befohlen hatte.10Sieben Tage später kam die große Flut über die Erde.11Im 600. Lebensjahr Noachs, am 17. Tag des 2. Monats, öffneten sich die Schleusen des Himmels und die Quellen der Tiefe brachen von unten aus der Erde hervor. (Eze 31:4)12Vierzig Tage und vierzig Nächte lang regnete es von da an in Strömen auf die Erde.13An jenem Tag ging Noach mit seiner Frau, mit seinen Söhnen Sem, Ham und Jafet und mit den Frauen seiner Söhne in die Arche,14dazu je ein Paar von allen Tierarten: den wilden und den zahmen Tieren, den Tieren, die am Boden kriechen, und allen geflügelten Tieren.15Von allen Tierarten, allem, was auf der Erde lebt, gingen je zwei zu Noach in die Arche,16immer ein Männchen und ein Weibchen, so wie Gott es befohlen hatte. Und der HERR schloss hinter Noach die Tür zu.17Vierzig Tage lang regnete es ununterbrochen. Das Wasser stieg an und hob die Arche vom Boden ab.18Es stieg immer weiter, und die Arche schwamm jetzt frei auf dem Wasser.19Es stieg höher und höher, und schließlich waren auf der Erde sogar die Berge bedeckt;20das Wasser stand sieben Meter[1] über den höchsten Gipfeln.21Da starb alles, was auf der Erde lebte und sich regte: Vögel, zahme und wilde Tiere, all die kleinen Tiere, von denen es auf der Erde wimmelte, und alle Menschen.22Alles, was Lebensgeist in sich trug[2] und auf dem Land lebte, fand den Tod.23So vernichtete der HERR alles Leben auf der Erde, vom Menschen bis zum kriechenden Getier, vom Vieh bis zu den Vögeln. Nur Noach und alle, die bei ihm in der Arche waren, blieben übrig.
Gott denkt an die Überlebenden in der Arche
24Hundertfünfzig Tage lang war das Wasser auf der Erde gestiegen.
