Psalm 87

New International Version

from Biblica

Of the Sons of Korah. A psalm. A song.

1 He has founded his city on the holy mountain. 2 The Lord loves the gates of Zion more than all the other dwellings of Jacob. 3 Glorious things are said of you, city of God:[1] 4 ‘I will record Rahab[2] and Babylon among those who acknowledge me – Philistia too, and Tyre, along with Cush[3] – and will say, “This one was born in Zion.” ’[4] 5 Indeed, of Zion it will be said, ‘This one and that one were born in her, and the Most High himself will establish her.’ 6 The Lord will write in the register of the peoples: ‘This one was born in Zion.’ 7 As they make music they will sing, ‘All my fountains are in you.’

Psalm 87

English Standard Version

from Crossway

Glorious Things of You Are Spoken

1 A Psalm of the Sons of Korah. A Song. On the holy mount stands the city he founded; (Ps 42:1; Ps 48:1; Isa 28:16) 2 the Lord loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwelling places of Jacob. (Ps 78:67) 3 Glorious things of you are spoken, O city of God. (Ps 46:4; Isa 54:1; Isa 60:1) 4 Among those who know me I mention Rahab and Babylon; behold, Philistia and Tyre, with Cush[1]— “This one was born there,” they say. (Job 9:13; Ps 36:10; Ps 68:31; Isa 19:22; Joh 10:14) 5 And of Zion it shall be said, “This one and that one were born in her”; for the Most High himself will establish her. (Ps 48:8) 6 The Lord records as he registers the peoples, “This one was born there.” (Ps 69:28) 7 Singers and dancers alike say, “All my springs are in you.” (2Sa 6:14; Ps 36:9; Ps 68:25; Isa 12:3; Re 21:6)
