1 Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory in the heavens. 

2 Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger. 

3 When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, 

4 what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? 

5 You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honour. 

6 You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet: 

7 all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild, 

8 the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas. 

9 Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

How Majestic Is Your Name

To the choirmaster: according to The Gittith. A Psalm of David.

1 O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. (Ex 34:5; Ps 113:4; Ps 148:13; Isa 12:4) 

2 Out of the mouth of babies and infants, you have established strength because of your foes, to still the enemy and the avenger. (Ps 44:16; Jer 16:19; Mt 11:25; Mt 21:16; 1Co 1:27) 

3 When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, (Ge 1:16; Ex 8:19; Ex 31:18; Ps 111:2) 

4 what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? (Ge 8:1; Ge 21:1; Ge 50:24; Job 7:17; Job 25:6; Ps 65:9; Ps 80:17; Ps 144:3; Heb 2:6) 

5 Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. (Ge 1:26; Ps 21:5) 

6 You have given him dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet, (Ge 1:26; Ge 1:28; Mt 28:18; 1Co 15:27) 

7 all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, 

8 the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas. 

9 O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
