1I saw in heaven another great and wonderful sign. Seven angels were about to bring the seven last plagues. The plagues would complete God’s anger.2Then I saw something that looked like a sea of glass glowing with fire. Standing beside the sea were those who had won the battle over the beast. They had also overcome its statue and the number of its name. They held harps given to them by God.3They sang the song of God’s servant Moses and of the Lamb. They sang, ‘Lord God who rules over all, everything you do is great and wonderful. King of the nations, your ways are true and fair.4Lord, who will not have respect for you? Who will not bring glory to your name? You alone are holy. All nations will come and worship you. They see that the things you do are right.’5After this I looked, and I saw the temple in heaven. And it was opened. The temple is the holy tent where the tablets of the covenant law were kept.6Out of the temple came the seven angels who were bringing the seven plagues. They were dressed in clean, shining linen. They wore gold strips of cloth around their chests.7Then one of the four living creatures gave seven golden bowls to the seven angels. The bowls were filled with the anger of God, who lives for ever and ever.8The temple was filled with smoke that came from the glory and power of God. No one could enter the temple at that time. They had to wait until the seven plagues of the seven angels were completed.

Vorspiel im Himmel
2Ich sah etwas wie ein gläsernes Meer, das mit Feuer vermischt war. Auf diesem Meer sah ich alle die stehen, die den Sieg über das Tier erlangt hatten und über sein Standbild und die Zahl seines Namens. Sie hielten himmlische Harfen in den Händen. (Re 4:6; Re 13:14; Re 13:18)3Sie sangen ein Lied, das das Siegeslied Moses, des Bevollmächtigten Gottes, noch weit überbietet, das Siegeslied des Lammes:[1] »Herr, unser Gott, du Herrscher der ganzen Welt, wie groß und wunderbar sind deine Taten! In allem, was du planst und ausführst, bist du vollkommen und gerecht, du König über alle Völker! (Ex 15:1; Ps 111:2)4Wer wollte dich, Herr, nicht fürchten und deinem Namen keine Ehre erweisen? Du allein bist heilig. Alle Völker werden kommen und sich vor dir niederwerfen; denn deine gerechten Taten sind nun für alle offenbar geworden.« (Isa 2:2)5Danach sah ich, wie im Himmel der Tempel, das Heilige Zelt, geöffnet wurde. (Re 11:19)6Die sieben Engel mit den sieben Katastrophen kamen aus dem Tempel. Sie waren in reines, weißes Leinen gekleidet und trugen ein breites goldenes Band um die Brust. (Da 10:5; Re 6:11)7Eine von den vier mächtigen Gestalten gab den sieben Engeln sieben goldene Schalen. Sie waren bis an den Rand gefüllt mit dem Zorn des Gottes, der in alle Ewigkeit lebt. (Re 14:10)8Der Tempel füllte sich mit Rauch, der von der Herrlichkeit und Macht Gottes ausging. Keiner konnte den Tempel betreten, solange nicht die sieben Katastrophen zu Ende waren, die von den sieben Engeln gebracht wurden. (Ex 40:34; Isa 6:4)
