1Blessed is the person whose lawless acts are forgiven. Their sins have been taken away.2Blessed is the person whose sin the LORD never counts against them. That person doesn’t want to cheat anyone.3When I kept silent about my sin, my body became weak because I groaned all day long.4Day and night you punished me. I became weaker and weaker as I do in the heat of summer.5Then I admitted my sin to you. I didn’t cover up the wrong I had done. I said, ‘I will admit my lawless acts to the LORD.’ And you forgave the guilt of my sin.6Let everyone who is faithful pray to you while they can still look to you. When troubles come like a flood, they certainly won’t reach those who are faithful.7You are my hiding place. You will keep me safe from trouble. You will surround me with songs sung by those who praise you because you save your people.8I will guide you and teach you the way you should go. I will give you good advice and watch over you with love.9Don’t be like a horse or a mule. They can’t understand anything. They have to be controlled by bits and bridles. If they aren’t, they won’t come to you.10Sinful people have all kinds of trouble. But the LORD’s faithful love is all around those who trust in him.11Be glad because of what the LORD has done for you. Be joyful, you who do what is right! Sing, all you whose hearts are honest!
1Ein Gedicht Davids. Freuen dürfen sich alle, denen Gott ihr Unrecht vergeben und ihre Verfehlungen zugedeckt hat! (Ps 103:3; Ps 103:8; Ro 4:6; 1Jo 1:9)2Freuen dürfen sich alle, denen der HERR die Schuld nicht anrechnet und deren Gewissen nicht mehr belastet ist!3HERR, erst wollte ich meine Schuld verschweigen; doch davon wurde ich so krank, dass ich von früh bis spät nur stöhnen konnte. (Ps 38:19; Jas 5:16)4Ich spürte deine Hand bei Tag und Nacht; sie drückte mich zu Boden, ließ meine Lebenskraft entschwinden wie in der schlimmsten Sommerdürre.5Darum entschloss ich mich, dir meine Verfehlungen zu bekennen. Was ich getan hatte, gestand ich dir; ich verschwieg dir meine Schuld nicht länger. Und du – du hast mir alles vergeben!6Deshalb soll jeder, der dir die Treue hält, zu dir beten, wenn er in Not gerät.[1] Wenn sie ihn dann bedrängt wie eine Flut, wird sie ihn nicht verschlingen können.7Bei dir finde ich Schutz; du hältst die Not von mir fern und lässt mich jubeln über meine Rettung.8Der HERR hat mir geantwortet:[2] »Ich sage dir, was du tun sollst, und zeige dir den richtigen Weg. Ich lasse dich nicht aus den Augen. (Ps 25:4)9Sei doch nicht unverständig wie ein Maultier oder Pferd! Die musst du mit Zaum und Zügel bändigen, sonst folgen sie dir nicht.«[3]10Wer nicht nach Gott fragt, schafft sich viel Kummer; aber wer dem HERRN vertraut, wird seine Güte erfahren.11Freut euch und jubelt über den HERRN, ihr, die ihr ihm treu seid! Alle, die redlich und rechtschaffen sind, sollen vor Freude singen!
