Isaiah 12

New International Reader’s Version

from Biblica

Two songs of praise

1 In days to come, the people of Israel will sing, ‘LORD, we will praise you. You were angry with us. But now your anger has turned away from us. And you have brought us comfort. 2 God, you are the one who saves us. We will trust in you. Then we won’t be afraid. LORD, you are the one who gives us strength. You are the one who keeps us safe. LORD, you have saved us.’ 3 People of Israel, he will save you. That will bring you joy like water brought up from wells. 4 In days to come, the people of Israel will sing, ‘Give praise to the LORD. Make his name known. Tell the nations what he has done. Announce how honoured he is. 5 Sing to the LORD. He has done glorious things. Let it be known all over the world. 6 People of Zion, give a loud shout! Sing for joy! The Holy One of Israel is among you. And he is great.’

Isaiah 12

English Standard Version

from Crossway

The Lord Is My Strength and My Song

1 You[1] will say in that day: “I will give thanks to you, O Lord, for though you were angry with me, your anger turned away, that you might comfort me. (Isa 10:4; Isa 11:11) 2 “Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God[2] is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.” (Ex 15:2; Ps 118:14) 3 With joy you[3] will draw water from the wells of salvation. (Joh 4:13; Joh 7:37) 4 And you will say in that day: “Give thanks to the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples, proclaim that his name is exalted. (Ps 105:1; Ps 145:4; Ps 148:13; Isa 11:11) 5 “Sing praises to the Lord, for he has done gloriously; let this be made known[4] in all the earth. (Ex 15:1; Ps 98:1) 6 Shout, and sing for joy, O inhabitant of Zion, for great in your[5] midst is the Holy One of Israel.” (Ps 46:5; Isa 5:24; Isa 41:14; Isa 41:16; Ho 11:9)
