(Ps 4,1; Ps 8,1; Ps 42,1)2Wie schön sind doch deine Wohnungen, allmächtiger HERR[4]!3Ich sehne mich von ganzem Herzen, ja, ich verzehre mich vor Verlangen[5] nach den Vorhöfen ´am Heiligtum` des HERRN. Mit Leib und Seele juble ich dem lebendigen Gott zu.4Selbst der Spatz hat ein Zuhause gefunden, die Schwalbe ein Nest für sich, wo sie ihre Jungen versteckt hat – nämlich bei deinen Altären, du allmächtiger HERR, mein König und mein Gott.5Glücklich zu nennen sind alle, die in deinem Haus wohnen dürfen, sie werden dich für immer preisen. //[6] (Ps 3,3)6Glücklich zu nennen ist, wer seine Stärke in dir gefunden hat, alle die, deren Herz erfüllt ist von dem Wunsch, zu deinem Heiligtum zu pilgern[7].7Durchqueren sie das Tal der Dürre[8], so wird es durch sie zu einem Ort mit Quellen, und auch der Herbstregen[9] schenkt dem Tal wieder Fruchtbarkeit[10].8Sie empfangen auf Schritt und Tritt neue Kraft[11], bis sie dann vor Gott auf dem Berg Zion stehen.9HERR, du allmächtiger Gott[12], höre mein Gebet, schenk mir ein offenes Ohr, du Gott der Nachkommen Jakobs! //10Achte doch auf unseren König, der uns Schutz bietet, o Gott, ja, blicke wohlwollend auf den, der von dir gesalbt wurde![13] (Ps 2,2)11Ein Tag in deinen Vorhöfen ist besser als tausend andere sonst. Ich will lieber an der Schwelle stehen im Haus meines Gottes als dort zu wohnen, wo die Gottlosigkeit herrscht!12Denn Gott, der HERR, ist unsere Sonne, er beschützt uns wie ein Schild. Gnade schenkt der HERR, und er lässt uns zu Ehren kommen. Denen, die aufrichtig ihren Weg gehen, enthält er nichts Gutes vor.13Allmächtiger HERR, glücklich zu nennen ist der Mensch, der auf dich vertraut!
