(1Mo 14,18)4Dort zerbrach er die Brandpfeile[3], die Schilde, Schwerter und alle Kriegswaffen der Feinde[4]. //[5] (Ps 3,3)5In Licht bist du gehüllt, ´o Gott`, erhabener als[6] die Berge, von denen die Raubzüge der Feinde ausgingen[7].6Selbst die mutigsten Helden[8] wurden ihrer Waffen beraubt, nun schlafen sie den Todesschlaf, und keiner der sonst so starken Krieger vermag die Hände zum Kampf zu erheben[9].7Dein Drohen, du Gott Jakobs, genügte – und schon fielen die Pferde vor den Streitwagen in einen betäubenden Schlaf.8Du – ja, furchterregend bist du! Wer kann vor dir bestehen, wenn du deinem Zorn freien Lauf lässt?9Vom Himmel her lässt du dein Gerichtsurteil hören, Furcht ergreift die Erde, und sie wird ganz still.10Ja, das geschieht, wenn Gott aufsteht, um Recht zu sprechen, um den Unterdrückten im Land Rettung zu bringen. //11Selbst das schlimmste Wüten von Menschen trägt noch bei zu deinem Lob; du schmückst dich mit allen, die diesem Toben entgehen, wie mit einem ´schönen` Gürtel.[10]12Legt vor dem HERRN, eurem Gott, eure Gelübde ab und erfüllt sie auch, ihr alle, die ihr euch um ihn versammelt. Ihm, dem Ehrfurchtgebietenden, bringt eure Gaben dar!13Dem Hochmut der Gewaltherrscher bereitet er ein Ende[11], als furchterregend erweist er sich gegenüber allen Königen der Erde.
