Ein Loblied auf den Richter über alle Völker

1 Halleluja! Singt dem HERRN ein neues Lied, ´singt` für ihn ein Loblied in der Gemeinde derer, die ihm treu sind! 2 Israel möge sich freuen über seinen Schöpfer, die Bewohner von Zion^[1] sollen jubeln über ihren König. 3 Seinen Namen sollen sie beim Reigentanz besingen^[2], mit Pauke und Zither für ihn spielen. 4 Denn der HERR hat Gefallen an seinem Volk, die Demütigen rettet er und bringt sie so zu Ehren^[3]. 5 Alle, die ihm treu sind, sollen jubeln, denn er schenkt ihnen hohes Ansehen^[4], auch ´noch in der Nacht` mögen sie ihn laut rühmen auf ihren Lagern. 6 Ein Loblied auf Gott erklingt aus ihrem Mund^[5], und ein zweischneidiges Schwert halten sie in der Hand, 7 um Vergeltung zu üben an den Nationen, Strafe zu vollstrecken an den Völkern; 8 um deren Könige mit Ketten zu binden und ihre Würdenträger in Fesseln aus Eisen zu legen. 9 Auf diese Weise sollen sie an ihnen Gottes Urteil vollstrecken, wie es ´in seinem Gesetz` aufgeschrieben ist. Eine Ehre ist dies für alle, die ihm treu sind. Halleluja!

1 Praise the Lord.^[1] Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise in the assembly of his faithful people. 2 Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the people of Zion be glad in their King. 3 Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with tambourine and harp. 4 For the Lord takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory. 5 Let his faithful people rejoice in this honour and sing for joy on their beds. 6 May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands, 7 to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples, 8 to bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron, 9 to carry out the sentence written against them – this is the glory of all his faithful people. Praise the Lord.

1 Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints. 2 Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. 3 Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. 4 For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation. 5 Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds. 6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand; 7 To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; 8 To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; 9 To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD.
