Betet den HERRN an in heiligem Festschmuck!3Der HERR lässt über den Wassern seine mächtige Stimme[2] hören, der Gott der Herrlichkeit lässt den Donner dröhnen. Ja, der HERR thront über den großen Wassermassen.4Die Stimme des HERRN erdröhnt gewaltig, erhaben ist die Stimme des HERRN.5Die Stimme des HERRN zerbricht ´mächtige` Zedern, selbst die ´gewaltigen` Zedern auf dem Libanongebirge spaltet der HERR.6Er lässt den Libanon erbeben und hüpfen wie ein Kalb, auch den Hermon lässt er auf und nieder springen wie einen jungen Stier.[3]7Die Stimme des HERRN lässt feurige Blitze zucken.[4]8Die Stimme des HERRN erfasst nun auch die Steppe, der HERR lässt die Wüste Kadesch erbeben.9Die Stimme des HERRN erschreckt die Hirschkühe, vorzeitig bringen sie ihre Jungen zur Welt. In den Wäldern schlägt sie die Äste ab und fegt das Laub von den Bäumen.[5] Und in seinem Tempel rufen alle: »Ihm sei Ehre!«10Der HERR thront über dem Himmelsozean, ja, der HERR sitzt auf seinem Thron für immer und ewig.11Der HERR schenkt seinem Volk Kraft. Der HERR segnet sein Volk mit Frieden.

Worship the LORD because of his beauty and holiness.3The voice of the LORD is heard over the waters. The God of glory thunders. The LORD thunders over the mighty waters.4The voice of the LORD is powerful. The voice of the LORD is majestic.5The voice of the LORD breaks the cedar trees. The LORD breaks the cedars of Lebanon into pieces.6He makes the mountains of Lebanon leap like a calf. He makes Mount Hermon jump like a young wild ox.7The voice of the LORD strikes with flashes of lightning.8The voice of the LORD shakes the desert. The LORD shakes the Desert of Kadesh.9The voice of the LORD twists the oak trees. It strips the forests bare. And in his temple everyone cries out, ‘Glory!’10The LORD on his throne rules over the flood. The LORD rules from his throne as King for ever.11The LORD gives strength to his people. The LORD blesses his people with peace.
