Aus Noahs Nachkommen werden ganze Völker

1 Dies ist das Verzeichnis der Nachkommen von^[1] Sem, Ham und Jafet, den ´drei` Söhnen Noahs. Nach der großen Flut bekamen sie selbst ´zahlreiche` Söhne. (1Mo 2,4) 2 Jafets Söhne hießen Gomer, Magog, Madai, Jawan, Tubal, Meschech und Tiras. 3 Von Gomer stammen Aschkenas, Rifat und Togarma ab, 4 und von Jawan: Elischa, Tarschisch, die Kittäer und die Rodaniter^[2]. 5 Jawans Nachkommen^[3] verteilten sich über verschiedene Inseln und Küstenländer^[4]. ´Sie besiedelten` jeweils eigene Gebiete und ´bildeten` eigene Sippen und Völker mit eigenen Sprachen.^[5] 6 Hams Söhne hießen Kusch, Mizrajim, Put und Kanaan.^[6] 7 Von Kusch stammen Seba, Hawila, Sabta, Ragma und Sabtecha ab; von Ragma: Saba und Dedan. 8 Kusch hatte noch einen Sohn mit Namen Nimrod. Nimrod war der erste, der ein großes Reich gründete^[7]. 9 Er war auch ein gewaltiger Jäger^[8]; darum sagt man bis heute: » ´Dieser Mensch ist` ein gewaltiger Jäger vor dem HERRN wie Nimrod.« 10 Den Ausgangspunkt seines Königreiches bildeten ´die Städte` Babylon, Erech, Akkad und Kalne im Land Schinar^[9]. 11 Von dort aus zog Nimrod weiter nach Assur und erbaute Ninive, Rehobot-Ir, Kelach 12 und Resen, das zwischen Ninive und Kelach liegt. Ninive ist die ´bekannte` große Stadt. 13 Von Mizrajim stammen die Luditer, die Anamiter, die Lehabiter, die Naftuhiter, 14 die Patrositer, die Kasluhiter und die Kaftoriter ab. Die Kasluhiter sind die Vorfahren der Philister.^[10] 15 Kanaans erstgeborener Sohn war Sidon. Außerdem ´stammen von ihm ab`: die Hetiter^[11], 16 die Jebusiter, die Amoriter, die Girgaschiter, 17 die Hiwiter, die Arkiter, die Siniter, 18 die Arwaditer, die Zemariter und die Hamatiter. Die kanaanitischen Sippen breiteten sich aus, 19 bis ihr Gebiet von Sidon ´südwärts` bis nach Gerar und Gaza und ´vom Mittelmeer ostwärts` bis nach Sodom, Gomorra, Adma, Zebojim und Lescha reichte. 20 Diese alle sind Nachkommen Hams, ´aufgelistet` nach ihren Sippen, Sprachen, Gebieten und Völkern. 21 Auch Sem, der älteste Bruder Jafets^[12], hatte ´mehrere` Söhne. ´Unter anderem` stammen von ihm Eber und dessen Nachkommen ab. (1Mo 9,24) 22 Sems Söhne hießen Elam, Assur, Arpachschad, Lud und Aram. 23 Von Aram stammen Uz, Hul, Geter und Masch ab. 24 Arpachschad war der Vater von Schelach, Schelach der Vater von Eber. 25 Eber hatte zwei Söhne. Der eine hieß Peleg (»Teilung«), denn zu seiner Zeit verteilte sich die Menschheit über die Erde^[13]. Der andere hieß Joktan. (1Mo 11,1) 26 Von Joktan stammen Almodad, Schelef, Hazarmawet, Jerach, 27 Hadoram, Usal, Dikla, 28 Obal, Abimaël, Saba, 29 Ofir, Hawila und Jobab. Sie alle sind Nachkommen Joktans. 30 Ihr Gebiet erstreckt sich von Mescha über Sefar bis an das Gebirge im Osten. 31 Diese alle sind Nachkommen Sems, ´aufgelistet` nach ihren Sippen, Sprachen, Gebieten und Völkern. 32 Alle in diesen Ahnentafeln aufgeführten Sippen sind Nachkommen von Noahs Söhnen. Sie wurden nach der großen Flut zu Völkern und breiteten sich über die ganze Erde aus.

1 Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and unto them were sons born after the flood. 2 The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras. 3 And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah. 4 And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim. 5 By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations. 6 And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan. 7 And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtecha: and the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan. 8 And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth. 9 He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD. 10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar. 11 Out of that land went forth Asshur, and builded Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah, 12 And Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the same is a great city. 13 And Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim, 14 And Pathrusim, and Casluhim, (out of whom came Philistim,) and Caphtorim. 15 And Canaan begat Sidon his firstborn, and Heth, 16 And the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgasite, 17 And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite, 18 And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite: and afterward were the families of the Canaanites spread abroad. 19 And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as thou comest to Gerar, unto Gaza; as thou goest, unto Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, even unto Lasha. 20 These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations. 21 Unto Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder, even to him were children born. 22 The children of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram. 23 And the children of Aram; Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash. 24 And Arphaxad begat Salah; and Salah begat Eber. 25 And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother' name was Joktan. 26 And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah, 27 And Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah, 28 And Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba, 29 And Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab: all these were the sons of Joktan. 30 And their dwelling was from Mesha, as thou goest unto Sephar a mount of the east. 31 These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, after their nations. 32 These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.
