1¡Canta, mujer estéril! ¡Prorrumpe en grande y jubiloso cántico, Jerusalén, porque la que había sido abandonada tiene más bendiciones que la que conservó su marido!2¡Amplía tu casa, construye cuartos adicionales, ensancha tu morada3porque pronto no tendrás espacio! Tus descendientes poseerán las ciudades que habían quedado durante el exilio y gobernarán a las naciones que se apoderaron de su tierra.4No temas, ya no vivirás avergonzada. La vergüenza de tu juventud y el dolor de la viudez no se recordarán más,5porque tu Creador será el«esposo» tuyo. SEÑOR Todopoderoso es su nombre; él es tu Redentor, el Santo de Israel, el Dios de toda la tierra.6Porque el SEÑOR te ha llamado para que dejes tu dolor, joven esposa abandonada por tu marido.7Por un breve momento te abandoné, pero con mucha compasión te tomaré de nuevo.8En un momento de ira no quise saber nada de ti, pero con amor eterno nuevamente tendré compasión de ti, dice el SEÑOR, tu Redentor.9Así como en días de Noé juré que jamás permitiría que la inundación de las aguas cubriera la tierra y destruyera su vida, juro ahora que jamás volveré a derramar mi ira sobre ti como lo hice durante el exilio.10Podrán los montes marcharse y desaparecer las colinas, pero la misericordia mía no te dejará. Jamás será quebrantada mi promesa de paz para ti, dice el SEÑOR, quien tiene misericordia de ti.11¡Oh afligido pueblo mío, atormentado y atribulado, volveré a construir para ti cimiento de zafiros, y de piedras preciosas haré los muros de tus casas!12De ágata resplandeciente construiré tus torres, y tus puertas y murallas serán de fulgurantes gemas.13Y yo seré el maestro de todos tus ciudadanos y grande será la prosperidad de ellos.14Serás regida por un gobierno justo y honrado. Tus enemigos se mantendrán a distancia, vivirás en paz, el terror no se acercará.15Si alguna nación acude a combatirte, no será enviada por mí como castigo; por lo tanto será derrotada, porque yo estoy de tu parte.16Yo he creado al herrero que desde abajo de la fragua da viento a los carbones y fabrica las armas destructivas. Yo he creado los ejércitos que destruyen.17Pero aquel día ninguna arma que se vuelva contra ti triunfará, y se te hará justicia contra toda calumnia que se esgrima en los tribunales. Esta es la herencia de los siervos del SEÑOR, esta es la bendición que te he dado, dice el SEÑOR.

(Gn 8:21; Gn 9:11)10For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you. (Nm 25:12; Ez 34:25; Ez 37:26; Mal 2:5)11“O afflicted one, storm-tossed and not comforted, behold, I will set your stones in antimony, and lay your foundations with sapphires.[2] (Is 51:21; Is 60:10; Ap 21:19)12I will make your pinnacles of agate,[3] your gates of carbuncles,[4] and all your wall of precious stones.13All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children. (Sal 119:165; Is 9:7; Jer 31:33; Jn 6:45)14In righteousness you shall be established; you shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near you.15If anyone stirs up strife, it is not from me; whoever stirs up strife with you shall fall because of you. (Is 8:9)16Behold, I have created the smith who blows the fire of coals and produces a weapon for its purpose. I have also created the ravager to destroy;17no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication[5] from me, declares the Lord.” (Is 45:24)
