1 Este es el mensaje del SEÑOR para Ciro, ungido de Dios, a quien ha elegido para que conquiste muchas tierras. Dios dará poder a su mano derecha y él aplastará la fortaleza de poderosos reyes. Dios le abrirá las puertas de Babilonia, y las puertas no se le cerrarán más. 2 Yo iré delante de ti, Ciro, y allanaré los montes y derribaré las puertas de bronce y los barrotes de hierro. 3 Y te daré tesoros que se ocultan en lugares oscuros, riquezas secretas, y tú sabrás que yo lo hago. Yo, el SEÑOR, el Dios de Israel, es el que te llama por tu nombre. 4 ¿Y por qué te he nombrado para esta obra? Por amor de Jacob, mi siervo; de Israel, mi elegido. Yo te llamé por tu nombre cuando no me conocías. 5 Yo soy el SEÑOR, y no hay otro Dios. Ya te fortaleceré y te enviaré a la victoria aunque no me conozcas, 6 y todo el mundo desde el oriente hasta el occidente sabrá que no hay otro Dios. Yo soy el SEÑOR y no hay ningún otro, sólo yo soy Dios. 7 Yo formo la luz y hago las tinieblas. Yo envío los buenos tiempos y los malos. Yo, el SEÑOR, soy el que hace esto. 8 Ábrase el cielo, derrame el cielo su justicia. Germinen unidas en la tierra la salvación y la justicia. Yo, el SEÑOR, las creé. 9 ¡Ay del ser humano que lucha contra su Creador! ¿Acaso discute la vasija con su hacedor? ¿Disputa la arcilla con quien le da forma, diciéndole: «¡Alto, te has equivocado!»? ¿O exclama la vasija: «¡Qué torpe eres!»? 10 ¡Ay del recién nacido que les grita a su padre y a su madre: «¿Por qué me han engendrado? ¿No saben hacer bien nada?»! 11 El SEÑOR, el Santo de Israel, el Creador de Israel, dice: ¿Quién eres tú para darme órdenes respecto de la obra de mis manos? 12 Yo hice la tierra y creé al ser humano en ella. Con mis propias manos extendí el cielo y ordené las incontables miríadas de estrellas. 13 Yo levanté a Ciro para que cumpla mi justo propósito, y yo dirigiré todas sus sendas. Él restaurará mi ciudad y librará a mi pueblo cautivo, y no lo hará por recompensa. 14 El SEÑOR dice: Los egipcios, etíopes y sabeos estarán sujetos a ti. Acudirán a ti con todas sus mercancías, las cuales te pertenecerán. Irán tras ti como prisioneros en cadenas y se postrarán de rodillas ante ti diciendo: «¡El único Dios que hay, es tu Dios!». 15 Ciertamente, oh Dios de Israel, Salvador, te manifiestas en formas misteriosas y extrañas. 16 Todos los que adoran ídolos se verán desengañados y avergonzados, 17 pero Israel será salvado por el SEÑOR con eterna salvación; jamás sufrirán desengaño de su Dios por toda la eternidad. 18 Porque el SEÑOR creó el cielo y la tierra y lo puso todo en su sitio, e hizo el mundo para que fuera habitado, y no un caos vacío. Yo soy el SEÑOR, dice él, y no hay otro. 19 Nunca hablo en secreto, ni murmuro palabras en algún rincón oscuro. ¡No le dije a Israel que me pidiera lo que no pensaba darle! ¡No, porque yo, el SEÑOR, hablo solamente verdad y justicia! 20 Reúnanse y vengan, naciones que escapan de la mano de Ciro. ¡Qué insensatos son los que andan con ídolos de madera y oran a dioses que no pueden salvar! 21 Consulten entre ustedes, argumenten su causa. ¿Quién sino Dios dijo que todo esto se cumpliría? Porque no hay Dios sino yo, Dios justo y Salvador. No, ¡no hay ni uno! 22 Alce a mí los ojos el mundo entero en busca de salvación, porque yo soy Dios, y no hay otro. 23 Por mí mismo he jurado y jamás me retractaré, porque mi palabra es verdad, anuncio que toda rodilla en el mundo se doblará ante mí, y toda lengua jurará lealtad a mi nombre. 24 «En el SEÑOR reside toda mi justicia y fortaleza», dirá todo el pueblo. Y todos los que contra él estaban enojados, acudirán a él avergonzados. 25 En el SEÑOR todas las generaciones de Israel serán declaradas justas, y triunfarán.

1 Thus says the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have grasped, to subdue nations before him and to loose the belts of kings, to open doors before him that gates may not be closed: (Job 12:21; Is 22:21; Is 41:13; Is 44:28; Is 45:5) 2 “I will go before you and level the exalted places,[1] I will break in pieces the doors of bronze and cut through the bars of iron, (Sal 107:16; Is 40:4) 3 I will give you the treasures of darkness and the hoards in secret places, that you may know that it is I, the Lord, the God of Israel, who call you by your name. (Is 43:1; Jer 50:37; Jer 51:13) 4 For the sake of my servant Jacob, and Israel my chosen, I call you by your name, I name you, though you do not know me. (Is 45:3; Is 62:2) 5 I am the Lord, and there is no other, besides me there is no God; I equip you, though you do not know me, (Job 12:21; Is 22:21; Is 44:8) 6 that people may know, from the rising of the sun and from the west, that there is none besides me; I am the Lord, and there is no other. (Is 37:20; Mal 1:11) 7 I form light and create darkness; I make well-being and create calamity; I am the Lord, who does all these things. (Is 41:23; Am 3:6) 8 “Shower, O heavens, from above, and let the clouds rain down righteousness; let the earth open, that salvation and righteousness may bear fruit; let the earth cause them both to sprout; I the Lord have created it. (Dt 32:2; Sal 85:11; Os 10:12) 9 “Woe to him who strives with him who formed him, a pot among earthen pots! Does the clay say to him who forms it, ‘What are you making?’ or ‘Your work has no handles’? (Ec 6:10; Is 10:15; Is 64:8; Ro 9:20) 10 Woe to him who says to a father, ‘What are you begetting?’ or to a woman, ‘With what are you in labor?’” 11 Thus says the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and the one who formed him: “Ask me of things to come; will you command me concerning my children and the work of my hands?[2] (Is 29:23; Is 41:23; Is 64:8; Jer 31:9; Ez 39:7) 12 I made the earth and created man on it; it was my hands that stretched out the heavens, and I commanded all their host. (Gn 2:1; Is 42:5; Is 44:24; Jer 27:5) 13 I have stirred him up in righteousness, and I will make all his ways level; he shall build my city and set my exiles free, not for price or reward,” says the Lord of hosts. (Is 41:2; Is 44:28; Is 45:2; Is 49:25; Is 51:14; Is 52:3) 14 Thus says the Lord: “The wealth of Egypt and the merchandise of Cush, and the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over to you and be yours; they shall follow you; they shall come over in chains and bow down to you. They will plead with you, saying: ‘Surely God is in you, and there is no other, no god besides him.’” (Is 14:2; Is 43:3) 15 Truly, you are a God who hides himself, O God of Israel, the Savior. (Is 57:17) 16 All of them are put to shame and confounded; the makers of idols go in confusion together. (Is 42:17) 17 But Israel is saved by the Lord with everlasting salvation; you shall not be put to shame or confounded to all eternity. (Is 54:4) 18 For thus says the Lord, who created the heavens (he is God!), who formed the earth and made it (he established it; he did not create it empty, he formed it to be inhabited!): “I am the Lord, and there is no other. (Gn 1:2; Sal 115:16; Is 42:5) 19 I did not speak in secret, in a land of darkness; I did not say to the offspring of Jacob, ‘Seek me in vain.’[3] I the Lord speak the truth; I declare what is right. (Dt 30:11; Is 45:23; Is 48:16; Jer 29:13) 20 “Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, you survivors of the nations! They have no knowledge who carry about their wooden idols, and keep on praying to a god that cannot save. (Is 41:1; Is 44:17; Is 44:18; Is 46:1; Is 46:7; Is 48:5; Jer 10:5) 21 Declare and present your case; let them take counsel together! Who told this long ago? Who declared it of old? Was it not I, the Lord? And there is no other god besides me, a righteous God and a Savior; there is none besides me. (Is 41:22; Is 41:26; Is 43:9; Is 43:11) 22 “Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other. (Is 11:12; Is 43:5) 23 By myself I have sworn; from my mouth has gone out in righteousness a word that shall not return: ‘To me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear allegiance.’[4] (Gn 22:16; Is 45:19; Ro 14:11; Flp 2:10) 24 “Only in the Lord, it shall be said of me, are righteousness and strength; to him shall come and be ashamed all who were incensed against him. (Is 26:4; Is 41:11; Is 44:8) 25 In the Lord all the offspring of Israel shall be justified and shall glory.”
