1¡Oh SEÑOR, honraré y alabaré tu nombre, porque tú eres mi Dios, tú haces grandes maravillas! Hace tiempo las planeaste y ahora las has ejecutado, tal como dijiste.2Tú conviertes en ruinas las grandes ciudades. Las más firmes fortalezas son transformadas en escombros. Hermosos palacios en lejanas tierras desaparecen y jamás son reconstruidos.3Por todo ello, temblarán de miedo ante ti las naciones fuertes; despiadadas naciones te obedecerán y glorificarán tu nombre.4Mas para los pobres, oh SEÑOR, tú eres como refugio ante la tormenta, sombra contra el calor, amparo contra los hombres crueles que son como tenaz aguacero capaz de deshacer un muro de tierra.5Como las nubes refrescan la tierra cálida y seca, así enfriarás tú el orgullo de las naciones implacables.6Aquí en el monte Sion en Jerusalén, el SEÑOR Todopoderoso brindará un admirable festín para todos los habitantes del mundo: habrá deliciosos manjares, vinos claros añejados y la mejor carne.7En aquel día alejará él la nube de tristeza, el ambiente fúnebre que cubre la tierra.8El SEÑOR le quitará el poder a la muerte para siempre. El SEÑOR secará toda lágrima y ahuyentará para siempre todas las injurias y burlas que se dirigen contra su tierra y su pueblo. ¡El SEÑOR ha hablado! ¡Sin duda cumplirá su palabra!9En aquel día proclamará el pueblo: «Este es nuestro Dios, en quien confiamos, a quien hemos esperado. Ahora por fin está aquí». ¡Qué día de regocijo!10Porque la buena mano del SEÑOR reposará cuidadosa sobre Jerusalén, y Moab será aplastado como si fuera paja bajo sus pies y luego se pudrirá.11Dios los echará abajo, como el nadador que empuja el agua con sus manos. Acabará con el orgullo y las malas obras de ellos.12¡Destruidas y hechas polvo serán las altas murallas de Moab!
1O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you; I will praise your name, for you have done wonderful things, plans formed of old, faithful and sure. (Ex 15:2; 2 R 19:25; Sal 107:32)2For you have made the city a heap, the fortified city a ruin; the foreigners’ palace is a city no more; it will never be rebuilt. (Is 17:1; Jer 51:37)3Therefore strong peoples will glorify you; cities of ruthless nations will fear you. (Is 18:7)4For you have been a stronghold to the poor, a stronghold to the needy in his distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat; for the breath of the ruthless is like a storm against a wall, (2 Cr 32:18; Is 4:6; Nah 1:7)5like heat in a dry place. You subdue the noise of the foreigners; as heat by the shade of a cloud, so the song of the ruthless is put down. (Is 32:2)6On this mountain the Lord of hosts will make for all peoples a feast of rich food, a feast of well-aged wine, of rich food full of marrow, of aged wine well refined. (Sal 63:5; Is 2:2; Is 11:9; Is 24:23)7And he will swallow up on this mountain the covering that is cast over all peoples, the veil that is spread over all nations. (Is 25:6; 2 Co 3:15)8He will swallow up death forever; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces, and the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth, for the Lord has spoken. (Is 1:20; Is 30:19; Is 37:4; Os 13:14; 1 Co 15:54; Ap 7:17)9It will be said on that day, “Behold, this is our God; we have waited for him, that he might save us. This is the Lord; we have waited for him; let us be glad and rejoice in his salvation.” (Gn 49:18; Sal 9:14; Sal 27:14; Is 26:8)10For the hand of the Lord will rest on this mountain, and Moab shall be trampled down in his place, as straw is trampled down in a dunghill.[1] (Is 15:1; Is 25:6)11And he will spread out his hands in the midst of it as a swimmer spreads his hands out to swim, but the Lord will lay low his pompous pride together with the skill[2] of his hands. (Is 16:12; Is 16:14)12And the high fortifications of his walls he will bring down, lay low, and cast to the ground, to the dust.
