1To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint; preserve my life from dread of the enemy. (مز 55:2)2Hide me from the secret plots of the wicked, from the throng of evildoers, (مز 55:14)3who whet their tongues like swords, who aim bitter words like arrows, (مز 11:2; مز 57:4)4shooting from ambush at the blameless, shooting at him suddenly and without fear. (مز 10:8; مز 55:19)5They hold fast to their evil purpose; they talk of laying snares secretly, thinking, “Who can see them?” (أي 22:13; مز 140:5; إر 23:14; حز 13:22)6They search out injustice, saying, “We have accomplished a diligent search.” For the inward mind and heart of a man are deep. (مز 49:11)7But God shoots his arrow at them; they are wounded suddenly. (مز 7:12; مز 58:7)8They are brought to ruin, with their own tongues turned against them; all who see them will wag their heads. (مز 22:7; مز 40:3; أم 12:13; أم 18:7; إر 18:16; إر 48:27)9Then all mankind fears; they tell what God has brought about and ponder what he has done. (مز 64:8; إر 50:28; إر 51:10)10Let the righteous one rejoice in the Lord and take refuge in him! Let all the upright in heart exult! (أي 22:19; مز 7:10; مز 11:1; مز 32:11)
