1 رُؤْيَا بِشَأْنِ مُوآبَ: حَقّاً فِي لَيْلَةٍ مُبَاغِتَةٍ تُخَرَّبُ عَارُ مُوآبَ، حَقّاً فِي لَيْلَةٍ مُبَاغِتَةٍ تُدَمَّرُ قِيرُ مُوآبَ. 2 يَنْطَلِقُ أَهْلُ دِيبُونَ إِلَى الْمَعْبَدِ، وَحَتَّى إِلَى الْمُرْتَفَعَاتِ لِلْبُكَاءِ؛ يُوَلْوِلُ شَعْبُ مُوآبَ عَلَى مَصِيرِ نَبُو وَمَيْدَبَا بِرُؤُوسٍ وَذُقُونٍ مَحْلُوقَةٍ. 3 يَتَلَفَّعُونَ بِالْمُسُوحِ فِي شَوَارِعِهَا، وَيَبْكِي كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمْ عَلَى السُّطُوحِ وَفِي السَّاحَاتِ. 4 تَتَعَالَى صَرَخَاتُ حَشْبُونَ وَأَلْعَالَةَ حَتَّى تَتَرَدَّدَ أَصْدَاؤُهَا فِي يَاهَصَ، لِذَلِكَ يَنْدُبُ جَيْشُ مُوآبَ بِصَوْتٍ مُرْتَفِعٍ، وَقُلُوبُهُمْ تَرْتَعِدُ فِي صُدُورِهِم. 5 قَلْبِي يَصْرُخُ مُتَوَجِّعاً عَلَى مُوآبَ وَعَلَى عُظَمَائِهَا الْهَارِبِينَ إِلَى صُوغَرَ. كَعِجْلَةٍ ثُلاثِيَّةٍ يَصْعَدُونَ إِلَى عَقَبَةِ اللُّوحِيثِ مُوَلْوِلِينَ، وَيَجْهَرُونَ بِصُرَاخِ الْهَزِيمَةِ فِي طَرِيقِ حُورُونَايِمَ. 6 غَاضَتْ مِيَاهُ نَهْرِ نِمْرِيمَ، وَجَفَّ الْعُشْبُ عَلَى ضَفَّتَيْهِ، وَذَوَى الْكَلأُ وَبَادَتِ الْخُضْرَةُ 7 لِذَلِكَ يَحْمِلُونَ مَا ادَّخَرُوهُ مِنْ ثَرْوَةٍ وَنَفَائِسَ، وَيَنْقُلُونَهَا إِلَى عَبْرِ وَادِي الصَّفْصَافِ، 8 إِذْ يَتَجَاوَبُ صُرَاخُهُمْ عَلَى طُولِ تُخُومِ مُوآبَ، وَتَبْلُغُ وَلْوَلَتُهُمْ إِلَى أَجْلايِمَ وَبِئْرِ إِيلِيمَ. 9 تَفِيضُ مِيَاهُ دِيمُونَ دَماً لأَنِّي أَزِيدُ مِنْ وَيْلاتِهَا، فَتُهَاجِمُ الأُسُودُ النَّاجِينَ مِنْ مُوآبَ، وَتَفْتَرِسُ الْهَارِبِينَ وَالْمَاكِثِينَ فِيهَا.

1 An oracle concerning Moab. Because Ar of Moab is laid waste in a night, Moab is undone; because Kir of Moab is laid waste in a night, Moab is undone. (عد 21:15; عد 21:28; إش 14:28; إش 16:7; إش 16:11; حز 25:8; عا 2:1; صف 2:8) 2 He has gone up to the temple,[1] and to Dibon, to the high places[2] to weep; over Nebo and over Medeba Moab wails. On every head is baldness; every beard is shorn; (عد 21:30; تث 34:1; إش 3:24; إش 13:6) 3 in the streets they wear sackcloth; on the housetops and in the squares everyone wails and melts in tears. 4 Heshbon and Elealeh cry out; their voice is heard as far as Jahaz; therefore the armed men of Moab cry aloud; his soul trembles. (عد 32:37; إر 48:34) 5 My heart cries out for Moab; her fugitives flee to Zoar, to Eglath-shelishiyah. For at the ascent of Luhith they go up weeping; on the road to Horonaim they raise a cry of destruction; (إش 15:4; إر 48:5) 6 the waters of Nimrim are a desolation; the grass is withered, the vegetation fails, the greenery is no more. (عد 32:36) 7 Therefore the abundance they have gained and what they have laid up they carry away over the Brook of the Willows. (إر 48:36) 8 For a cry has gone around the land of Moab; her wailing reaches to Eglaim; her wailing reaches to Beer-elim. 9 For the waters of Dibon[3] are full of blood; for I will bring upon Dibon even more, a lion for those of Moab who escape, for the remnant of the land.
