HERR, wer darf Gast sein in deinem Zelte, wer wohnen auf deinem heiligen Berge?2Wer unsträflich wandelt und Gerechtigkeit übt und die Wahrheit redet, wie’s ihm ums Herz ist;3wer keine Verleumdung mit seiner Zunge umherträgt, seinem Nächsten kein Unrecht zufügt und keine Schmähung ausspricht gegen Verwandte;4wer Verworfne als wirklich verächtlich ansieht, aber Gottesfürchtigen Ehre erweist; wer sich selbst zum Schaden schwört und den Eid doch hält;5wer sein Geld nicht ausleiht gegen Zins[1] und Bestechung nicht annimmt gegen Schuldlose: wer solches tut, wird ewiglich nicht wanken.
1LORD, who can live in your sacred tent? Who can stay on your holy mountain?2Anyone who lives without blame and does what is right. They speak the truth from their heart.3They don’t tell lies about other people. They don’t do wrong to their neighbours. They don’t say anything bad about them.4They hate evil people. But they honour those who have respect for the LORD. They keep their promises even when it hurts. They do not change their mind.5They lend their money to poor people without charging interest. They don’t accept money to harm those who aren’t guilty. Anyone who lives like that will always be secure.
