Gottes Gericht über die Herren Jerusalems und seine eitlen Frauen

1 Siehe, der Herr, der HERR Zebaoth, wird von Jerusalem und Juda wegnehmen Stütze und Stab: allen Vorrat an Brot und allen Vorrat an Wasser, (3Mo 26,26; Hes 4,16) 2 Helden und Kriegsleute, Richter und Propheten, Wahrsager und Älteste, 3 Hauptleute und Vornehme, Ratgeber und Weise, Zauberer und kluge Beschwörer. 4 Und ich will ihnen Knaben zu Fürsten geben, und Mutwillige sollen über sie herrschen. (Pred 10,16) 5 Und im Volk wird einer den andern bedrängen, ein jeder seinen Nächsten. Der Junge geht los auf den Alten und der Verachtete auf den Geehrten. (Mi 7,6) 6 Dann wird einer seinen Bruder in seines Vaters Hause ergreifen: Du hast noch einen Mantel! Sei unser Herr! Dieser Trümmerhaufe sei unter deiner Hand! 7 Er aber wird sie zu der Zeit beschwören und sagen: Ich bin kein Arzt; es ist kein Brot und kein Mantel in meinem Hause! Macht mich nicht zum Herrn über das Volk! 8 Denn Jerusalem ist gestrauchelt, und Juda liegt da, weil ihre Worte und ihr Tun wider den HERRN sind, dass sie den Augen seiner Majestät widerstreben. 9 Ihr Gesichtsausdruck zeugt gegen sie; ihrer Sünde rühmen sie sich wie die Leute in Sodom und verbergen sie nicht. Wehe ihnen! Denn damit bringen sie sich selbst ins Unglück. (1Mo 19,5) 10 Wohl den Gerechten, sie haben es gut! Denn sie werden die Frucht ihrer Werke genießen. (Ps 128,2) 11 Wehe aber den Gottlosen, sie haben es schlecht! Denn wie sie handeln, wird ihnen vergolten. 12 Mein Volk – seine Gebieter üben Willkür, und Wucherer beherrschen es. Mein Volk, deine Führer verführen dich und verwirren den Weg, den du gehen sollst! (Jes 9,15) 13 Der HERR steht da, den Rechtsstreit zu führen, und ist aufgetreten, die Völker zu richten. 14 Der HERR geht ins Gericht mit den Ältesten seines Volks und mit seinen Fürsten: Ihr habt den Weinberg abgeweidet, und was ihr den Armen geraubt, ist in eurem Hause. (Jes 5,7; Jer 12,10) 15 Warum zertretet ihr mein Volk und zerschlagt das Angesicht der Elenden?, spricht Gott, der HERR Zebaoth. 16 Und der HERR sprach: Weil die Töchter Zions stolz sind und gehen mit aufgerecktem Halse, mit lüsternen Augen, trippeln daher und tänzeln und klimpern mit den Spangen an ihren Füßen, 17 deshalb wird der Herr den Scheitel der Töchter Zions kahl machen, und der HERR wird ihre Schläfe entblößen. 18 Zu der Zeit wird der Herr den Schmuck der Fußspangen wegnehmen und die Stirnbänder, die kleinen Monde, 19 die Ohrringe, die Armspangen, die Schleier, 20 die Hauben, die Fußkettchen, die Gürtel, die Riechfläschchen, die Amulette, 21 die Fingerringe, die Nasenringe, 22 die Feierkleider, die Mäntel, die Tücher, die Täschchen, 23 die Spiegel, die Hemden, die Kopftücher, die Überwürfe. 24 Und es wird Gestank statt Wohlgeruch sein und ein Strick statt eines Gürtels und eine Glatze statt lockigen Haars und statt des Prachtgewandes ein Sack, Brandmal statt Schönheit. 25 Deine Männer werden durchs Schwert fallen und deine Krieger im Kampf. 26 Und Zions Tore werden trauern und klagen, und sie wird leer und einsam auf der Erde sitzen. Giudizio contro gli abitanti di Gerusalemme

1 Ecco, il Signore, Dio degli eserciti, sta per togliere a Gerusalemme e a Giuda ogni risorsa e ogni appoggio, ogni risorsa di pane e ogni risorsa d’acqua, 2 il prode e il guerriero, il giudice e il profeta, l’indovino e l’anziano, 3 il capo di cinquantina e il notabile, il consigliere, l’artefice esperto e l’abile incantatore. 4 Io darò loro dei ragazzini come prìncipi, e dei bambini domineranno su di essi. 5 Il popolo sarà oppresso, uomo da uomo, ciascuno dal suo prossimo; il giovane sarà arrogante con il vecchio, l’infame contro colui che è onorato. 6 Quando uno prenderà il fratello nella sua casa paterna e gli dirà: «Tu hai un mantello, sii nostro capo, prendi in mano queste rovine», 7 egli, in quel giorno, alzerà la voce e dirà: «Io non sarò vostro medico, nella mia casa non c’è né pane né mantello; non fatemi capo del popolo!» 8 Infatti Gerusalemme vacilla e Giuda crolla, perché la loro lingua e le loro opere sono contro il Signore, al punto da provocare l’ira del suo sguardo maestoso. 9 L’aspetto del loro volto testimonia contro di essi, proclamano il loro peccato, come Sodoma; non lo nascondono. Guai a loro, perché procurano a se stessi del male. 10 Ditelo che il giusto avrà del bene, perché egli mangerà il frutto delle sue opere! 11 Guai all’empio! Il male ricadrà sul suo capo, perché gli sarà reso quanto le sue mani hanno fatto. 12 Il mio popolo ha come oppressori dei bambini, e delle donne dominano su di lui. Popolo mio, coloro che ti guidano ti sviano e distruggono il sentiero per cui devi passare! 13 Il Signore si presenta per discutere la causa, e sta in piedi per giudicare i popoli. 14 Il Signore entra in giudizio con gli anziani del suo popolo e con i prìncipi di esso: «Voi siete quelli che hanno devastato la vigna! Le spoglie del povero sono nelle vostre case! 15 Con quale diritto opprimete il mio popolo e pestate la faccia agli indifesi?», dice il Signore, Dio degli eserciti. 16 Il Signore dice ancora: «Poiché le figlie di Sion sono altere, camminano con il collo teso, lanciando sguardi provocanti, procedendo a piccoli passi e facendo tintinnare gli anelli dei loro piedi, 17 il Signore farà venire la tigna sulla testa delle figlie di Sion, il Signore metterà a nudo le loro vergogne. 18 In quel giorno il Signore toglierà via il lusso degli anelli dei piedi, delle reti^[1] e delle mezzelune^[2], 19 degli orecchini, dei braccialetti, dei veli, 20 dei diademi, delle catenelle dei piedi, delle cinture, dei vasetti di profumo, degli amuleti, 21 degli anelli, dei cerchietti da naso, 22 degli abiti da festa, delle mantelline, degli scialli, delle borse, 23 degli specchi, delle camicie finissime, dei turbanti e delle mantiglie. 24 Invece di profumo si avrà fetore; invece di cintura, una corda; invece di riccioli, calvizie; invece di un ampio mantello, un sacco stretto; un marchio di fuoco invece di bellezza. 25 I tuoi uomini cadranno di spada, e i tuoi prodi in battaglia. 26 Le porte di Sion gemeranno e saranno in lutto; tutta desolata, siederà per terra.

Judgment on Judah and Jerusalem

1 For behold, the Lord God of hosts is taking away from Jerusalem and from Judah support and supply,^[1] all support of bread, and all support of water; (3Mo 26,26; Jes 1,24; Hes 4,16) 2 the mighty man and the soldier, the judge and the prophet, the diviner and the elder, (2Kön 24,14; Hes 17,13) 3 the captain of fifty and the man of rank, the counselor and the skillful magician and the expert in charms. 4 And I will make boys their princes, and infants^[2] shall rule over them. (Pred 10,16; Jes 3,12) 5 And the people will oppress one another, every one his fellow and every one his neighbor; the youth will be insolent to the elder, and the despised to the honorable. (Mi 7,3) 6 For a man will take hold of his brother in the house of his father, saying: “You have a cloak; you shall be our leader, and this heap of ruins shall be under your rule”; (Jes 4,1) 7 in that day he will speak out, saying: “I will not be a healer;^[3] in my house there is neither bread nor cloak; you shall not make me leader of the people.” (Jes 1,6) 8 For Jerusalem has stumbled, and Judah has fallen, because their speech and their deeds are against the Lord, defying his glorious presence.^[4] (Ps 73,9; Jes 65,3) 9 For the look on their faces bears witness against them; they proclaim their sin like Sodom; they do not hide it. 10 Tell the righteous that it shall be well with them, for they shall eat the fruit of their deeds. (5Mo 28,1; Ps 128,2; Pred 8,12) 11 Woe to the wicked!
