Erwecke deine Kraft und komm uns zu Hilfe!4Gott, tröste uns wieder[1] und lass leuchten dein Antlitz, so ist uns geholfen.5HERR, Gott Zebaoth, wie lange willst du zürnen beim Gebet deines Volkes?6Du speisest sie mit Tränenbrot und tränkest sie mit einem großen Krug voll Tränen.7Du lässest unsre Nachbarn sich um uns streiten, und unsre Feinde verspotten uns.8Gott Zebaoth, tröste uns wieder und lass leuchten dein Antlitz, so ist uns geholfen.9Du hast einen Weinstock aus Ägypten geholt, hast vertrieben die Völker und ihn eingepflanzt. (Jes 5,1; Jer 2,21)10Du hast vor ihm Raum gemacht / und hast ihn lassen einwurzeln, dass er das Land erfüllt hat.11Berge sind mit seinem Schatten bedeckt und mit seinen Reben die Zedern Gottes.12Du hast seine Ranken ausgebreitet bis an das Meer und seine Zweige bis an den Strom. (Hos 10,1)13Warum hast du denn seine Mauern zerbrochen, dass jeder seine Früchte abreißt, der vorübergeht?14Es haben ihn zerwühlt die wilden Säue, und die Tiere des Feldes haben ihn abgeweidet.15Gott Zebaoth, wende dich doch! / Schau vom Himmel und sieh, nimm dich dieses Weinstocks an!16Schütze doch, was deine Rechte gepflanzt hat, den Sohn, den du dir großgezogen hast! (Hos 11,1)17Sie haben ihn mit Feuer verbrannt wie Kehricht; vor dem Drohen deines Angesichts sollen sie umkommen. (Hes 15,2)18Deine Hand schütze den Mann deiner Rechten, den Sohn, den du dir großgezogen hast.19So wollen wir nicht von dir weichen. 1Shepherd of Israel, hear us. You lead the people of Joseph like a flock. You sit on your throne between the cherubim. Show your glory2to the people of Ephraim, Benjamin and Manasseh. Call your strength into action. Come and save us.3God, make us new again. May you be pleased with us. Then we will be saved.4LORD God, you rule over all. How long will you be angry? Will you be angry with your people even when they pray to you?5You have given us tears as our food. You have made us drink tears by the bowlful.6You have let our neighbours mock us. Our enemies laugh at us.7God who rules over all, make us new again. May you be pleased with us. Then we will be saved.8You brought Israel out of Egypt. Israel was like a vine. After you drove the nations out of Canaan, you planted the vine in their land.9You prepared the ground for it. It took root and spread out over the whole land.10The mountains were covered with its shade. The shade of its branches covered the mighty cedar trees.11Your vine sent its branches out all the way to the Mediterranean Sea. They reached as far as the River Euphrates.12Why have you broken down the walls around your vine? Now all who pass by it can pick its grapes.13Wild pigs from the forest destroy it. Insects from the fields feed on it.14God who rules over all, return to us! Look down from heaven and see us! Watch over your vine.15Guard the root you have planted with your powerful right hand. Take care of the branch you have raised up for yourself.16Your vine has been cut down and burned in the fire. You have been angry with us, and we are dying.17May you honour the people at your right hand. May you honour the nation you have raised up for yourself.18Then we won’t turn away from you. Give us new life. We will worship you.19LORD God who rules over all, make us new again. May you be pleased with us. Then we will be saved.
