1Und nach sechs Tagen nahm Jesus mit sich Petrus und Jakobus und Johannes, dessen Bruder, und führte sie allein auf einen hohen Berg. (Mt 26,37; Mk 5,37; Mk 9,2; Mk 13,3; Lk 9,28)2Und er wurde verklärt vor ihnen, und sein Angesicht leuchtete wie die Sonne, und seine Kleider wurden weiß wie das Licht. (2Mo 34,29; 2Petr 1,16; Offb 1,16)3Und siehe, da erschienen ihnen Mose und Elia; die redeten mit ihm.4Petrus aber antwortete und sprach zu Jesus: Herr, hier ist gut sein! Willst du, so will ich hier drei Hütten bauen, dir eine, Mose eine und Elia eine.5Als er noch so redete, siehe, da überschattete sie eine lichte Wolke. Und siehe, eine Stimme aus der Wolke sprach: Dies ist mein lieber Sohn, an dem ich Wohlgefallen habe; den sollt ihr hören! (Mt 3,17)6Als das die Jünger hörten, fielen sie auf ihr Angesicht und fürchteten sich sehr.7Jesus aber trat zu ihnen, rührte sie an und sprach: Steht auf und fürchtet euch nicht!8Als sie aber ihre Augen aufhoben, sahen sie niemand als Jesus allein.9Und als sie vom Berge hinabgingen, gebot ihnen Jesus und sprach: Ihr sollt von dieser Erscheinung niemandem sagen, bis der Menschensohn von den Toten auferstanden ist. (Mt 16,20)10Und die Jünger fragten ihn und sprachen: Warum sagen denn die Schriftgelehrten, zuerst müsse Elia kommen? (Mt 11,14)11Er antwortete und sprach: Ja, Elia kommt und wird alles zurechtbringen. (Mal 3,23)12Doch ich sage euch: Elia ist schon gekommen, und sie haben ihn nicht erkannt, sondern haben mit ihm getan, was sie wollten. So wird auch der Menschensohn durch sie leiden müssen. (Mt 14,9)13Da verstanden die Jünger, dass er von Johannes dem Täufer zu ihnen geredet hatte. (Lk 1,17)
Die Heilung eines mondsüchtigen Knaben
14Und als sie zu dem Volk kamen, trat ein Mensch zu ihm, kniete vor ihm nieder (Mk 9,14; Lk 9,37)15und sprach: Herr, erbarme dich über meinen Sohn! Denn er ist mondsüchtig und hat schwer zu leiden; er fällt oft ins Feuer und oft ins Wasser;16und ich habe ihn zu deinen Jüngern gebracht und sie konnten ihm nicht helfen.17Jesus aber antwortete und sprach: O du ungläubiges und verkehrtes Geschlecht, wie lange soll ich bei euch sein? Wie lange soll ich euch ertragen? Bringt ihn mir her!18Und Jesus bedrohte ihn; und der Dämon fuhr aus von ihm, und der Knabe wurde gesund zu derselben Stunde.19Da traten die Jünger zu Jesus, als sie allein waren, und sprachen: Warum konnten wir ihn nicht austreiben? (Mt 10,1)20-21Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Wegen eures Kleinglaubens. Denn wahrlich, ich sage euch: Wenn ihr Glauben habt wie ein Senfkorn, so könnt ihr sagen zu diesem Berge: Heb dich dorthin!, so wird er sich heben; und euch wird nichts unmöglich sein.[1] (Mt 21,21; Mk 9,29; Lk 17,6; 1Kor 13,2)
Die zweite Ankündigung von Jesu Leiden und Auferstehung
22Als sie in Galiläa zusammen waren, sprach Jesus zu ihnen: Der Menschensohn wird überantwortet werden in die Hände der Menschen (Mt 16,21; Mt 20,18; Mk 9,30; Lk 9,43)23und sie werden ihn töten, und am dritten Tag wird er auferstehen. Und sie wurden sehr betrübt.
Von der Tempelsteuer
24Als sie nun nach Kapernaum kamen, traten zu Petrus, die den Tempelgroschen einnehmen, und sprachen: Zahlt euer Meister nicht den Tempelgroschen? (2Mo 30,13; 2Kön 12,5)25Er sprach: Ja. Und als er in das Haus kam, kam ihm Jesus zuvor und sprach: Was meinst du, Simon? Von wem nehmen die Könige auf Erden Zoll oder Steuern: von ihren Kindern oder von den Fremden?26Da sprach zu ihm Petrus: Von den Fremden. Jesus sprach zu ihm: So sind die Kinder frei.27Damit wir ihnen aber keinen Anstoß geben, geh hin an das Meer und wirf die Angel aus, und den ersten Fisch, der heraufkommt, den nimm; und wenn du sein Maul aufmachst, wirst du ein Zweigroschenstück finden; das nimm und gib’s ihnen für mich und dich.
1After six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John the brother of James with him. He led them up a high mountain. They were all alone.2There in front of them his appearance was changed. His face shone like the sun. His clothes became as white as the light.3Just then Moses and Elijah appeared in front of them. Moses and Elijah were talking with Jesus.4Peter said to Jesus, ‘Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you wish, I will put up three shelters. One will be for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.’5While Peter was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them. A voice from the cloud said, ‘This is my Son, and I love him. I am very pleased with him. Listen to him!’6When the disciples heard this, they were terrified. They fell with their faces to the ground.7But Jesus came and touched them. ‘Get up’, he said. ‘Don’t be afraid.’8When they looked up, they saw no one except Jesus.9They came down the mountain. On the way down, Jesus told them what to do. ‘Don’t tell anyone what you have seen,’ he said. ‘Wait until the Son of Man has been raised from the dead.’10The disciples asked him, ‘Why do the teachers of the law say that Elijah has to come first?’11Jesus replied, ‘That’s right. Elijah is supposed to come and make all things new again.12But I tell you, Elijah has already come. People didn’t recognise him. They have done to him everything they wanted to do. In the same way, they are going to make the Son of Man suffer.’13Then the disciples understood that Jesus was talking to them about John the Baptist.
Jesus heals a boy who is controlled by a demon
14When they came near the crowd, a man approached Jesus. He got on his knees in front of him.15‘Lord’, he said, ‘have mercy on my son. He shakes wildly and suffers a great deal. He often falls into the fire or into the water.16I brought him to your disciples. But they couldn’t heal him.’17‘You unbelieving and evil people!’ Jesus replied. ‘How long do I have to stay with you? How long do I have to put up with you? Bring the boy here to me.’18Jesus ordered the demon to leave the boy, and it came out of him. He was healed at that moment.19Then the disciples came to Jesus in private. They asked, ‘Why couldn’t we drive out the demon?’20-21He replied, ‘Because your faith is much too small. What I’m about to tell you is true. If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, it is enough. You can say to this mountain, “Move from here to there.” And it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.’
Jesus speaks a second time about his coming death
22They came together in Galilee. Then Jesus said to them, ‘The Son of Man is going to be handed over to men.23They will kill him. On the third day he will rise from the dead.’ Then the disciples were filled with deep sadness.
Jesus pays the temple tax
24Jesus and his disciples arrived in Capernaum. There the people who collect the temple tax came to Peter. They asked him, ‘Doesn’t your teacher pay the temple tax?’25‘Yes, he does,’ he replied. When Peter came into the house, Jesus spoke first. ‘What do you think, Simon?’ he asked. ‘Who do the kings of the earth collect taxes and fees from? Do they collect them from their own children or from others?’26‘From others’, Peter answered. ‘Then the children don’t have to pay,’ Jesus said to him.27‘But we don’t want to make them angry. So go to the lake and throw out your fishing line. Take the first fish you catch. Open its mouth. There you will find the exact coin you need. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours.’
