1So spricht der HERR: Wo ist der Scheidebrief eurer Mutter, mit dem ich sie entlassen hätte? Oder wer ist mein Gläubiger, dem ich euch verkauft hätte? Siehe, ihr seid um eurer Sünden willen verkauft, und eure Mutter ist um eurer Abtrünnigkeit willen entlassen. (5Mo 24,1; Jes 52,3; Jes 54,6)2Warum kam ich und niemand war da? Warum rief ich und niemand antwortete? Ist mein Arm denn zu kurz, dass er nicht erlösen kann? Oder habe ich keine Kraft, zu erretten? Siehe, mit meinem Schelten mache ich das Meer trocken und die Wasserströme zur Wüste, dass ihre Fische vor Mangel an Wasser stinken und vor Durst sterben. (2Mo 14,21; 4Mo 11,23; Jes 59,1)3Ich kleide den Himmel mit Dunkel und hülle ihn in Trauer.
Der Knecht Gottes im Leiden
4Gott der HERR hat mir eine Zunge gegeben, wie sie Jünger haben, dass ich wisse, mit den Müden zu rechter Zeit zu reden. Er weckt mich alle Morgen; er weckt mir das Ohr, dass ich höre, wie Jünger hören. (Jes 42,1; Jes 49,1; Jes 52,13)5Gott der HERR hat mir das Ohr geöffnet. Und ich bin nicht ungehorsam und weiche nicht zurück. (Ps 40,7)6Ich bot meinen Rücken dar denen, die mich schlugen, und meine Wangen denen, die mich rauften. Mein Angesicht verbarg ich nicht vor Schmach und Speichel. (Mt 26,67; Joh 19,1)7Aber Gott der HERR hilft mir, darum werde ich nicht zuschanden. Darum hab ich mein Angesicht hart gemacht wie einen Kieselstein; denn ich weiß, dass ich nicht zuschanden werde. (Jes 49,4; Jes 49,23; Hes 3,8)8Er ist nahe, der mich gerecht spricht; wer will mit mir rechten? Lasst uns zusammen vortreten! Wer will mein Recht anfechten? Der komme her zu mir! (Röm 8,33)9Siehe, Gott der HERR hilft mir; wer will mich verdammen? Siehe, sie alle werden wie ein Kleid zerfallen, Motten werden sie fressen.10Wer ist unter euch, der den HERRN fürchtet, der auf die Stimme seines Knechts hört? Wer im Finstern wandelt und wem kein Licht scheint, der hoffe auf den Namen des HERRN und verlasse sich auf seinen Gott!11Siehe, ihr alle, die ihr ein Feuer entfacht und Brandpfeile entzündet, geht hin in die Glut eures Feuers und in die Brandpfeile, die ihr angezündet habt! Das widerfährt euch von meiner Hand; in Schmerzen sollt ihr liegen.
1The LORD says to the people in Jerusalem, ‘Do you think I divorced your people who lived before you? Is that why I sent them away? If it is, show me the letter of divorce. I did not sell you into slavery to pay someone I owe. You were sold because you sinned against me. Your people were sent away because of their lawless acts.2When I came to save you, why didn’t anyone welcome me? When I called out to you, why didn’t anyone answer me? Wasn’t I powerful enough to set you free? Wasn’t I strong enough to save you? I dry up the sea with a single command. I turn rivers into a desert. Then fish rot because they do not have any water. They die because they are thirsty.3I make the sky turn dark. It looks as if it’s dressed in clothing sad people wear.’4The LORD and King has taught me what to say. He has taught me how to help those who are tired. He wakes me up every morning. He makes me want to listen like a good student.5The LORD and King has unplugged my ears. I’ve always obeyed him. I haven’t turned away from him.6I let my enemies beat me on my bare back. I let them pull the hair out of my beard. I didn’t turn my face away when they made fun of me and spat on me.7The LORD and King helps me. He won’t let me be dishonoured. So I’ve made up my mind to keep on serving him. I know he won’t let me be put to shame.8He is near. He will prove I haven’t done anything wrong. So who will bring charges against me? Let’s face each other in court! Who can bring charges against me? Let him come and face me!9The LORD and King helps me. So who will judge me? My enemies will be like clothes that moths have eaten up. My enemies will disappear.10Does anyone among you have respect for the LORD? Does anyone obey the message of the LORD’s servant? Let the person who walks in the dark trust in the LORD. Let the one who doesn’t have any light to guide them depend on their God.11But all you sinners who light fires should go ahead and walk in their light. You who carry flaming torches should walk in their light. Here’s what I’m going to do to you. I’ll make you lie down in great pain.
