Gottes Bund mit Noah

1 Und Gott segnete Noah und seine Söhne und sprach: Seid fruchtbar und mehret euch und füllet die Erde. (1Mo 1,28) 2 Furcht und Schrecken vor euch sei über allen Tieren auf Erden und über allen Vögeln unter dem Himmel, über allem, was auf dem Erdboden wimmelt, und über allen Fischen im Meer; in eure Hände seien sie gegeben. 3 Alles, was sich regt und lebt, das sei eure Speise; wie das grüne Kraut habe ich’s euch alles gegeben. (1Mo 1,29; Kol 2,16) 4 Allein das Fleisch mit seinem Leben, seinem Blut, esst nicht! (3Mo 3,17; 3Mo 17,10; 5Mo 12,23) 5 Euer eigenes Blut jedoch will ich einfordern. Von jedem Tier will ich es einfordern. Und das Leben des Menschen will ich einfordern von einem jeden anderen Menschen. (2Mo 21,28) 6 Wer Menschenblut vergießt, dessen Blut soll um des Menschen willen vergossen werden; denn Gott hat den Menschen zu seinem Bilde gemacht. 7 Seid fruchtbar und mehret euch und reget euch auf Erden, dass euer viel darauf werden. 8 Und Gott sagte zu Noah und seinen Söhnen mit ihm: 9 Siehe, ich richte mit euch einen Bund auf und mit euren Nachkommen (1Mo 6,18) 10 und mit allem lebendigen Getier bei euch, an Vögeln, an Vieh und an allen Tieren auf Erden bei euch, von allem, was aus der Arche gegangen ist, was für Tiere es sind auf Erden. (Hos 2,20) 11 Und ich richte meinen Bund so mit euch auf, dass hinfort nicht mehr alles Fleisch ausgerottet werden soll durch die Wasser der Sintflut und hinfort keine Sintflut mehr kommen soll, die die Erde verderbe. 12 Und Gott sprach: Das ist das Zeichen des Bundes, den ich geschlossen habe zwischen mir und euch und allem lebendigen Getier bei euch auf ewig: 13 Meinen Bogen habe ich gesetzt in die Wolken; der soll das Zeichen sein des Bundes zwischen mir und der Erde. (Sach 9,10) 14 Und wenn es kommt, dass ich Wetterwolken über die Erde führe, so soll man meinen Bogen sehen in den Wolken. 15 Alsdann will ich gedenken an meinen Bund zwischen mir und euch und allem lebendigen Getier unter allem Fleisch, dass hinfort keine Sintflut mehr komme, die alles Fleisch verderbe. (Jes 54,7) 16 Darum soll mein Bogen in den Wolken sein, dass ich ihn ansehe und gedenke an den ewigen Bund zwischen Gott und allem lebendigen Getier unter allem Fleisch, das auf Erden ist. 17 Und Gott sagte zu Noah: Das sei das Zeichen des Bundes, den ich aufgerichtet habe zwischen mir und allem Fleisch auf Erden.

Noahs Fluch und Segen über seine Söhne

18 Die Söhne Noahs, die aus der Arche gingen, sind diese: Sem, Ham und Jafet. Ham aber ist der Vater Kanaans. (1Mo 5,32) 19 Das sind die drei Söhne Noahs; von ihnen kommen her alle Menschen auf Erden. 20 Noah aber, der Ackermann, pflanzte als Erster einen Weinberg. 21 Und da er von dem Wein trank, ward er trunken und lag im Zelt aufgedeckt. 22 Als nun Ham, Kanaans Vater, seines Vaters Blöße sah, sagte er’s seinen beiden Brüdern draußen. (2Mo 20,12; Spr 30,17) 23 Da nahmen Sem und Jafet ein Kleid und legten es auf ihrer beider Schultern und gingen rückwärts hinzu und deckten ihres Vaters Blöße zu; und ihr Angesicht war abgewandt, damit sie ihres Vaters Blöße nicht sähen. 24 Als nun Noah erwachte von seinem Rausch und erfuhr, was ihm sein jüngster Sohn angetan hatte, 25 sprach er: Verflucht sei Kanaan und sei seinen Brüdern ein Knecht aller Knechte! 26 Und sprach weiter: Gelobt sei der HERR, der Gott Sems, und Kanaan sei sein Knecht! 27 Gott schaffe Jafet weiten Raum und lasse ihn wohnen in den Zelten Sems und Kanaan sei sein Knecht! 28 Noah aber lebte nach der Sintflut dreihundertfünfzig Jahre, 29 dass sein ganzes Alter ward neunhundertfünfzig Jahre, und starb.

God makes a covenant with Noah

1 Then God blessed Noah and his sons. He said to them, ‘Have children so that there are many of you. Fill the earth. 2 All the land animals will be afraid of you. All the birds in the sky will be afraid of you. Every creature that moves along the ground will be afraid of you. So will every fish in the seas. Every living thing is put under your control. 3 Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. I have already given you the green plants for food. Now I am giving you everything. 4 ‘But you must not eat meat that still has blood in it. 5 I will certainly hold someone accountable if you are murdered. I will even hold animals accountable if they kill you. I will also hold anyone accountable who murders another person. 6 ‘Anyone who murders a human being will be killed by a human being. That is because I have made human beings so that they are like me. 7 Have children so that there will be many of you. Multiply and become many on the earth.’ 8 Then God spoke to Noah and to his sons who were with him. He said, 9 ‘I am now making my covenant with you and with all your children who will be born after you. 10 I am making it also with every living creature that was with you in the ark. I am making my covenant with the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals. I am making it with all the creatures that came out of the ark with you. In fact, I am making it with every living thing on earth. 11 Here is my covenant I am making with you. The waters of a flood will never again destroy all life. A flood will never again destroy the earth.’ 12 God continued, ‘My covenant is between me and you and every living creature with you. It is a covenant for all time to come. Here is the sign of the covenant I am making. 13 I have put my rainbow in the clouds. It will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 Sometimes when I bring clouds over the earth, a rainbow will appear in them. 15 Then I will remember my covenant between me and you and every kind of living creature. The waters will never again become a flood to destroy all life. 16 When the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it. I will remember that my covenant will last for ever. It is a covenant between me and every kind of living creature on earth.’ 17 So God said to Noah, ‘The rainbow is the sign of my covenant. I have made my covenant between me and all life on earth.’

The sons of Noah

18 The sons of Noah who came out of the ark were Shem, Ham and Japheth. Ham was the father of Canaan. 19 The people who were scattered over the earth came from Noah’s three sons. 20 Noah was a man who farmed the land. He decided to plant a field that produced grapes for making wine. 21 When he drank some of the wine, it made him drunk. Then he lay down inside his tent without any clothes on. 22 Ham saw his father naked. Then Ham, the father of Canaan, went outside and told his two brothers. 23 But Shem and Japheth picked up a piece of clothing and laid it across their shoulders. Then they walked backwards into the tent. They covered their father’s body. They turned their faces away because they didn’t want to see their father naked. 24 Then Noah woke up from his sleep that was caused by the wine. He found out what his youngest son had done to him. 25 He said, ‘May a curse be put on Canaan! He will be the lowest of slaves to his brothers.’ 26 Noah also said, ‘May the LORD, the God of Shem, be praised. May Canaan be the slave of Shem. 27 May God add land to Japheth’s territory. May Japheth live in the tents of Shem. And may Canaan be the slave of Japheth.’ 28 After the flood Noah lived 350 years. 29 Noah lived a total of 950 years. And then he died.
