Ruf nach Gott von den Enden der Erde

1 Von David, vorzusingen, beim Saitenspiel. 

2 Höre, Gott, mein Schreien und merke auf mein Gebet! 

3 Vom Ende der Erde rufe ich zu dir, denn mein Herz ist in Angst; du wollest mich führen auf einen hohen Felsen. 

4 Denn du bist meine Zuversicht, ein starker Turm vor meinen Feinden. (Ps 71,3; Spr 18,10) 

5 Lass mich wohnen in deinem Zelte ewiglich und Zuflucht haben unter deinen Fittichen. Sela. (Ps 17,8) 

6 Denn du, Gott, hörst meine Gelübde und gibst mir teil am Erbe derer, die deinen Namen fürchten. 

7 Du wollest dem König langes Leben geben, dass seine Jahre währen für und für, (Ps 21,5) 

8 dass er immer throne vor Gott. Lass Güte und Treue ihn behüten! (2Sam 7,16) 

9 So will ich deinem Namen lobsingen ewiglich, dass ich meine Gelübde erfülle täglich.

For the director of music. A psalm of David to be played on stringed instruments.

1 God, hear my cry for help. Listen to my prayer. 

2 From a place far away I call out to you. I call out as my heart gets weaker. Lead me to the safety of a rock that is high above me. 

3 You have always kept me safe from my enemies. You are like a strong tower to me. 

4 I long to live in your holy tent for ever. There I find safety in the shadow of your wings. 

5 God, you have heard my promises. You have given me what belongs to those who worship you. 

6 Add many days to the king’s life. Let him live on and on for many years. 

7 May he always enjoy your blessing as he rules. Let your love and truth keep him safe. 

8 Then I will always sing praise to you. I will keep my promises day after day.

Lead Me to the Rock

To the choirmaster: with stringed instruments. Of David.

1 Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer; (Ps 55,1; Ps 55,2) 

2 from the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I, (Ps 18,2; Ps 77,3) 

3 for you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy. (Ps 14,6; Spr 18,10) 

4 Let me dwell in your tent forever! Let me take refuge under the shelter of your wings! Selah (Ps 15,1; Ps 17,8; Ps 27,4) 

5 For you, O God, have heard my vows; you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name. 

6 Prolong the life of the king; may his years endure to all generations! (Ps 21,4; Ps 63,11) 

7 May he be enthroned forever before God; appoint steadfast love and faithfulness to watch over him! (Ps 40,11) 

8 So will I ever sing praises to your name, as I perform my vows day after day. (Ps 50,14)
