Die Heilung eines Gelähmten und die Vollmacht zur Sündenvergebung

1 Und nach etlichen Tagen ging er wieder nach Kapernaum; und es wurde bekannt, dass er im Hause war. (Mt 9,1; Lk 5,17) 2 Und es versammelten sich viele, sodass sie nicht Raum hatten, auch nicht draußen vor der Tür; und er sagte ihnen das Wort. (Mk 3,20) 3 Und es kamen einige, die brachten zu ihm einen Gelähmten, von vieren getragen. 4 Und da sie ihn nicht zu ihm bringen konnten wegen der Menge, deckten sie das Dach auf, wo er war, gruben es auf und ließen das Bett herunter, auf dem der Gelähmte lag. 5 Da nun Jesus ihren Glauben sah, sprach er zu dem Gelähmten: Mein Sohn, deine Sünden sind dir vergeben. 6 Es saßen da aber einige Schriftgelehrte und dachten in ihren Herzen: 7 Wie redet der so? Er lästert Gott! Wer kann Sünden vergeben als Gott allein? (Ps 130,4; Jes 43,25) 8 Und Jesus erkannte alsbald in seinem Geist, dass sie so bei sich selbst dachten, und sprach zu ihnen: Was denkt ihr solches in euren Herzen? 9 Was ist leichter, zu dem Gelähmten zu sagen: Dir sind deine Sünden vergeben, oder zu sagen: Steh auf, nimm dein Bett und geh hin? 10 Damit ihr aber wisst, dass der Menschensohn Vollmacht hat, Sünden zu vergeben auf Erden – sprach er zu dem Gelähmten: 11 Ich sage dir, steh auf, nimm dein Bett und geh heim! (Joh 5,8) 12 Und er stand auf und nahm sogleich sein Bett und ging hinaus vor aller Augen, sodass sie sich alle entsetzten und Gott priesen und sprachen: Wir haben solches noch nie gesehen.

Die Berufung des Levi und das Mahl mit den Zöllnern

13 Und er ging wieder hinaus an das Meer^[1]; und alles Volk kam zu ihm, und er lehrte sie. (Mt 9,9; Lk 5,27) 14 Und als er vorüberging, sah er Levi, den Sohn des Alphäus, am Zoll sitzen und sprach zu ihm: Folge mir nach! Und er stand auf und folgte ihm nach. (Mk 1,18) 15 Und es begab sich, dass er zu Tisch saß in seinem Hause, da setzten sich viele Zöllner und Sünder zu Tisch mit Jesus und seinen Jüngern; denn es waren viele, und sie folgten ihm nach. (Lk 7,34) 16 Und als die Schriftgelehrten unter den Pharisäern sahen, dass er mit den Sündern und Zöllnern aß, sprachen sie zu seinen Jüngern: Mit den Zöllnern und Sündern isst er? 17 Da das Jesus hörte, sprach er zu ihnen: Nicht die Starken bedürfen des Arztes, sondern die Kranken. Ich bin nicht gekommen, Gerechte zu rufen, sondern Sünder.

Die Frage nach dem Fasten

18 Und die Jünger des Johannes und die Pharisäer fasteten viel. Und es kamen etliche, die sprachen zu ihm: Warum fasten die Jünger des Johannes und die Jünger der Pharisäer, aber deine Jünger fasten nicht? (Mt 9,14; Lk 5,33) 19 Und Jesus sprach zu ihnen: Wie können die Hochzeitsgäste fasten, während der Bräutigam bei ihnen ist? Solange der Bräutigam bei ihnen ist, können sie nicht fasten. 20 Es werden aber Tage kommen, da der Bräutigam von ihnen genommen ist; dann werden sie fasten, an jenem Tage. 21 Niemand flickt einen Lappen von neuem Tuch auf ein altes Kleid; sonst reißt der neue Lappen vom alten ab und der Riss wird ärger. 22 Und niemand füllt neuen Wein in alte Schläuche; sonst zerreißt der Wein die Schläuche, und der Wein ist verloren und die Schläuche auch; sondern man füllt neuen Wein in neue Schläuche.

Das Ährenraufen am Sabbat

23 Und es begab sich, dass er am Sabbat durch die Kornfelder ging, und seine Jünger fingen an, während sie gingen, Ähren auszuraufen. (5Mo 23,26; Mt 12,1; Lk 6,1) 24 Und die Pharisäer sprachen zu ihm: Sieh doch! Warum tun deine Jünger am Sabbat, was nicht erlaubt ist? (2Mo 20,10) 25 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Habt ihr nie gelesen, was David tat, da er Mangel hatte und ihn hungerte, ihn und die bei ihm waren: (1Sam 21,2) 26 wie er ging in das Haus Gottes zur Zeit des Hohenpriesters Abjatar und aß die Schaubrote, die niemand essen darf als die Priester, und gab sie auch denen, die bei ihm waren? (3Mo 24,9) 27 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Der Sabbat ist um des Menschen willen gemacht und nicht der Mensch um des Sabbats willen. 28 So ist der Menschensohn Herr auch über den Sabbat.

1 And again he entered into Capernaum, after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. 2 And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them. 3 And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four. 4 And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay. 5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee. 6 But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, 7 Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only? 8 And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts? 9 Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk? 10 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,) 11 I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house. 12 And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion. 13 And he went forth again by the sea side; and all the multitude resorted unto him, and he taught them. 14 And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the receipt of custom, and said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him. 15 And it came to pass, that, as Jesus sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat also together with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him. 16 And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners? 17 When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. 18 And the disciples of John and of the Pharisees used to fast: and they come and say unto him, Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but thy disciples fast not? 19 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? as long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast. 20 But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days. 21 No man also seweth a piece of new cloth on an old garment: else the new piece that filled it up taketh away from the old, and the rent is made worse. 22 And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles. 23 And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn. 24 And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful? 25 And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him? 26 How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him? 27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: 28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
