Der Plan der Hohenpriester und der Schriftgelehrten

1 Es waren noch zwei Tage bis zum Passafest und den Tagen der Ungesäuerten Brote. Und die Hohenpriester und Schriftgelehrten suchten, wie sie ihn mit List ergreifen und töten könnten. (5Mo 16,1; Mt 26,1; Mk 11,18; Lk 22,1; Joh 11,47; Joh 13,1; Joh 18,1) 

2 Denn sie sprachen: Ja nicht bei dem Fest, damit es nicht einen Aufruhr im Volk gebe. 

Die Salbung in Betanien

3 Und als er in Betanien war im Hause Simons des Aussätzigen und saß zu Tisch, da kam eine Frau, die hatte ein Alabastergefäß mit unverfälschtem, kostbarem Nardenöl, und sie zerbrach das Gefäß und goss das Öl auf sein Haupt. (Lk 7,36; Joh 12,1) 

4 Da wurden einige unwillig und sprachen untereinander: Was soll diese Vergeudung des Salböls? 

5 Man hätte dieses Öl für mehr als dreihundert Silbergroschen verkaufen können und das Geld den Armen geben. Und sie fuhren sie an. (Mk 10,21) 

6 Jesus aber sprach: Lasst sie! Was bekümmert ihr sie? Sie hat ein gutes Werk an mir getan. 

7 Denn ihr habt allezeit Arme bei euch, und wenn ihr wollt, könnt ihr ihnen Gutes tun; mich aber habt ihr nicht allezeit. (5Mo 15,11) 

8 Sie hat getan, was sie konnte; sie hat meinen Leib im Voraus gesalbt zu meinem Begräbnis. (Mk 16,1) 

9 Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Wo das Evangelium gepredigt wird in der ganzen Welt, da wird man auch das sagen zu ihrem Gedächtnis, was sie getan hat. (Mk 13,10) 

Der Verrat des Judas

10 Und Judas Iskariot, einer von den Zwölfen, ging hin zu den Hohenpriestern, dass er ihn an sie verriete. 

11 Da sie das hörten, wurden sie froh und versprachen, ihm Geld zu geben. Und er suchte, wie er ihn bei guter Gelegenheit verraten könnte. 

Das Abendmahl

12 Und am ersten Tage der Ungesäuerten Brote, da man das Passalamm opferte, sprachen seine Jünger zu ihm: Wo willst du, dass wir hingehen und das Passalamm bereiten, damit du es essen kannst? 

13 Und er sandte zwei seiner Jünger und sprach zu ihnen: Geht hin in die Stadt, und es wird euch ein Mensch begegnen, der trägt einen Krug mit Wasser; folgt ihm, (Mk 11,1) 

14 und wo er hineingeht, da sprecht zu dem Hausherrn: Der Meister lässt dir sagen: Wo ist die Herberge für mich, in der ich das Passalamm essen kann mit meinen Jüngern? 

15 Und er wird euch einen großen Saal zeigen, der schön ausgelegt und vorbereitet ist; und dort richtet für uns zu. 

16 Und die Jünger gingen hin und kamen in die Stadt und fanden’s, wie er ihnen gesagt hatte, und bereiteten das Passalamm. 

17 Und am Abend kam er mit den Zwölfen. 

18 Und als sie bei Tisch waren und aßen, sprach Jesus: Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Einer unter euch, der mit mir isst, wird mich verraten. 

19 Da wurden sie traurig und sagten zu ihm, einer nach dem andern: Bin ich’s? 

20 Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Einer von den Zwölfen, der mit mir seinen Bissen in die Schüssel taucht. 

21 Der Menschensohn geht zwar hin, wie von ihm geschrieben steht; weh aber dem Menschen, durch den der Menschensohn verraten wird! Es wäre für diesen Menschen besser, wenn er nie geboren wäre. (Mk 9,12) 

22 Und als sie aßen, nahm er das Brot, dankte und brach’s und gab’s ihnen und sprach: Nehmet; das ist mein Leib. (Mk 6,41; 1Kor 10,16; 1Kor 11,23) 

23 Und er nahm den Kelch, dankte und gab ihnen den; und sie tranken alle daraus. 

24 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Das ist mein Blut des Bundes, das für viele vergossen wird. (2Mo 24,8; Mk 10,45; Hebr 9,15) 

25 Wahrlich, ich sage euch, dass ich nicht mehr trinken werde vom Gewächs des Weinstocks bis an den Tag, an dem ich aufs Neue davon trinke im Reich Gottes. 

26 Und als sie den Lobgesang gesungen hatten, gingen sie hinaus an den Ölberg. 

Die Ankündigung der Verleugnung des Petrus

27 Und Jesus sprach zu ihnen: Ihr werdet alle Ärgernis nehmen; denn es steht geschrieben: »Ich werde den Hirten schlagen, und die Schafe werden sich zerstreuen.« (Joh 16,32) 

28 Wenn ich aber auferstanden bin, will ich vor euch hingehen nach Galiläa. (Mk 16,7) 

29 Petrus aber sagte zu ihm: Wenn auch alle Ärgernis nehmen, so doch ich nicht! 

30 Und Jesus sprach zu ihm: Wahrlich, ich sage dir: Heute, in dieser Nacht, ehe denn der Hahn zweimal kräht, wirst du mich dreimal verleugnen. 

31 Er aber redete noch weiter: Auch wenn ich mit dir sterben müsste, werde ich dich nicht verleugnen! Das Gleiche sagten sie alle. (Joh 11,16) 

Jesus in Gethsemane

32 Und sie kamen zu einem Garten mit Namen Gethsemane. Und er sprach zu seinen Jüngern: Setzt euch hierher, bis ich gebetet habe. 

33 Und er nahm mit sich Petrus und Jakobus und Johannes und fing an zu zittern und zu zagen (Mt 17,1) 

34 und sprach zu ihnen: Meine Seele ist betrübt bis an den Tod; bleibt hier und wachet! (Ps 42,6; Joh 12,27) 

35 Und er ging ein wenig weiter, fiel nieder auf die Erde und betete, dass, wenn es möglich wäre, die Stunde an ihm vorüberginge, 

36 und sprach: Abba, Vater, alles ist dir möglich; nimm diesen Kelch von mir; doch nicht, was ich will, sondern was du willst! (Mk 10,38; Joh 6,38; Gal 4,6) 

37 Und er kam und fand sie schlafend und sprach zu Petrus: Simon, schläfst du? Vermochtest du nicht eine Stunde zu wachen? 

38 Wachet und betet, dass ihr nicht in Versuchung fallt! Der Geist ist willig; aber das Fleisch ist schwach. (Lk 21,36) 

39 Und er ging wieder hin und betete und sprach dieselben Worte 

40 und kam wieder und fand sie schlafend; denn ihre Augen waren voller Schlaf, und sie wussten nicht, was sie ihm antworten sollten. 

41 Und er kam zum dritten Mal und sprach zu ihnen: Ach, wollt ihr weiter schlafen und ruhen? Es ist genug; die Stunde ist gekommen. Siehe, der Menschensohn wird überantwortet in die Hände der Sünder. (Mk 9,31; Mk 10,33) 

42 Steht auf, lasst uns gehen! Siehe, der mich verrät, ist nahe. (Joh 14,31) 

Jesu Gefangennahme

43 Und alsbald, während er noch redete, kam herzu Judas, einer von den Zwölfen, und mit ihm eine Schar mit Schwertern und mit Stangen, von den Hohenpriestern und Schriftgelehrten und Ältesten. 

44 Und der Verräter hatte ihnen ein Zeichen genannt und gesagt: Welchen ich küssen werde, der ist’s; den ergreift und führt ihn sicher ab. 

45 Und als er kam, trat er alsbald zu ihm und sprach: Rabbi!, und küsste ihn. 

46 Die aber legten Hand an ihn und ergriffen ihn. 

47 Einer aber von denen, die dabeistanden, zog sein Schwert und schlug nach dem Knecht des Hohenpriesters und hieb ihm ein Ohr ab. 

48 Und Jesus antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Seid ihr ausgezogen wie gegen einen Räuber mit Schwertern und mit Stangen, mich gefangen zu nehmen? (Mk 15,27) 

49 Ich bin täglich bei euch im Tempel gewesen und habe gelehrt, und ihr habt mich nicht ergriffen. Aber so muss die Schrift erfüllt werden. (Mk 9,12) 

50 Da verließen ihn alle und flohen. 

51 Und ein junger Mann folgte ihm nach, der war mit einem Leinengewand bekleidet auf der bloßen Haut; und sie griffen nach ihm. 

52 Er aber ließ das Gewand fahren und floh nackt. (Am 2,16) 

Jesus vor dem Hohen Rat

53 Und sie führten Jesus zu dem Hohenpriester; und es versammelten sich alle Hohenpriester und Ältesten und Schriftgelehrten. 

54 Petrus aber folgte ihm nach von ferne, bis hinein in den Palast des Hohenpriesters, und saß da bei den Knechten und wärmte sich am Feuer. 

55 Aber die Hohenpriester und der ganze Hohe Rat suchten Zeugnis gegen Jesus, auf dass sie ihn zu Tode brächten, und fanden nichts. 

56 Denn viele gaben falsches Zeugnis gegen ihn; aber ihr Zeugnis stimmte nicht überein. (Ps 27,12) 

57 Und einige standen auf und gaben falsches Zeugnis gegen ihn und sprachen: 

58 Wir haben gehört, dass er gesagt hat: Ich will diesen Tempel, der mit Händen gemacht ist, abbrechen und in drei Tagen einen andern bauen, der nicht mit Händen gemacht ist. (Mk 8,31; Mk 12,10; Mk 13,2) 

59 Aber ihr Zeugnis stimmte auch darin nicht überein. 

60 Und der Hohepriester stand auf, trat in die Mitte und fragte Jesus und sprach: Antwortest du nichts auf das, was diese gegen dich bezeugen? 

61 Er aber schwieg still und antwortete nichts. Da fragte ihn der Hohepriester abermals und sprach zu ihm: Bist du der Christus, der Sohn des Hochgelobten? (Jes 53,7; Mk 8,29; Mk 15,5) 

62 Jesus aber sprach: Ich bin’s; und ihr werdet sehen den Menschensohn sitzen zur Rechten der Kraft und kommen mit den Wolken des Himmels. (Ps 110,1; Dan 7,13; Mk 12,36; Mk 13,26) 

63 Da zerriss der Hohepriester seine Kleider und sprach: Was bedürfen wir weiterer Zeugen? 

64 Ihr habt die Gotteslästerung gehört. Was meint ihr? Sie aber verurteilten ihn alle, dass er des Todes schuldig sei. 

65 Da fingen einige an, ihn anzuspeien und sein Angesicht zu verdecken und ihn mit Fäusten zu schlagen und zu ihm zu sagen: Weissage uns! Und die Knechte schlugen ihn ins Angesicht. (Mk 15,19) 

Die Verleugnung des Petrus

66 Und Petrus war unten im Hof. Da kam eine von den Mägden des Hohenpriesters; 

67 und als sie Petrus sah, wie er sich wärmte, schaute sie ihn an und sprach: Und du warst auch mit dem Jesus von Nazareth. 

68 Er leugnete aber und sprach: Ich weiß nicht und verstehe nicht, was du sagst. Und er ging hinaus in den Vorhof, und der Hahn krähte. 

69 Und die Magd sah ihn und fing abermals an, denen zu sagen, die dabeistanden: Dieser ist einer von denen. 

70 Und er leugnete abermals. Und nach einer kleinen Weile sprachen die, die dabeistanden, abermals zu Petrus: Wahrhaftig, du bist einer von denen; denn du bist auch ein Galiläer. 

71 Er aber fing an, sich zu verfluchen und zu schwören: Ich kenne den Menschen nicht, von dem ihr redet. 

72 Und alsbald krähte der Hahn zum zweiten Mal. Da gedachte Petrus an das Wort, das Jesus zu ihm gesagt hatte: Ehe der Hahn zweimal kräht, wirst du mich dreimal verleugnen. Und er fing an zu weinen.

1 After two days was the feast of the passover, and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take him by craft, and put him to death. 

2 But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar of the people. 

3 And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head. 

4 And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made? 

5 For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her. 

6 And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me. 

7 For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always. 

8 She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying. 

9 Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her. 

10 And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went unto the chief priests, to betray him unto them. 

11 And when they heard it, they were glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought how he might conveniently betray him. 

12 And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou mayest eat the passover? 

13 And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them, Go ye into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him. 

14 And wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the goodman of the house, The Master saith, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples? 

15 And he will shew you a large upper room furnished and prepared: there make ready for us. 

16 And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover. 

17 And in the evening he cometh with the twelve. 

18 And as they sat and did eat, Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, One of you which eateth with me shall betray me. 

19 And they began to be sorrowful, and to say unto him one by one, Is it I? and another said, Is it I? 

20 And he answered and said unto them, It is one of the twelve, that dippeth with me in the dish. 

21 The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born. 

22 And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body. 

23 And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it. 

24 And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many. 

25 Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God. 

26 And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives. 

27 And Jesus saith unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered. 

28 But after that I am risen, I will go before you into Galilee. 

29 But Peter said unto him, Although all shall be offended, yet will not I. 

30 And Jesus saith unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this day, even in this night, before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. 

31 But he spake the more vehemently, If I should die with thee, I will not deny thee in any wise. Likewise also said they all. 

32 And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray. 

33 And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy; 

34 And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch. 

35 And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. 

36 And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt. 

37 And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour? 

38 Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak. 

39 And again he went away, and prayed, and spake the same words. 

40 And when he returned, he found them asleep again, (for their eyes were heavy,) neither wist they what to answer him. 

41 And he cometh the third time, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough, the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. 

42 Rise up, let us go; lo, he that betrayeth me is at hand. 

43 And immediately, while he yet spake, cometh Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priest and the scribes and the elders. 

44 And he that betrayed him had given them a token, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he; take him, and lead him away safely. 

45 And as soon as he was come, he goeth straightway to him, and saith, Master, master; and kissed him. 

46 And they laid their hands on him, and took him. 

47 And one of them that stood by drew a sword, and smote a servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear. 

48 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Are ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and with staves to take me? 

49 I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but the scriptures must be fulfilled. 

50 And they all forsook him, and fled. 

51 And there followed him a certain young man, having a linen cloth cast about his naked body; and the young men laid hold on him: 

52 And he left the linen cloth, and fled from them naked. 

53 And they led Jesus away to the high priest: and with him were assembled all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes. 

54 And Peter followed him afar off, even into the palace of the high priest: and he sat with the servants, and warmed himself at the fire. 

55 And the chief priests and all the council sought for witness against Jesus to put him to death; and found none. 

56 For many bare false witness against him, but their witness agreed not together. 

57 And there arose certain, and bare false witness against him, saying, 

58 We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands. 

59 But neither so did their witness agree together. 

60 And the high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, saying, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee? 

61 But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? 

62 And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. 

63 Then the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What need we any further witnesses? 

64 Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death. 

65 And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to buffet him, and to say unto him, Prophesy: and the servants did strike him with the palms of their hands. 

66 And as Peter was beneath in the palace, there cometh one of the maids of the high priest: 

67 And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked upon him, and said, And thou also wast with Jesus of Nazareth. 

68 But he denied, saying, I know not, neither understand I what thou sayest. And he went out into the porch; and the cock crew. 

69 And a maid saw him again, and began to say to them that stood by, This is one of them. 

70 And he denied it again. And a little after, they that stood by said again to Peter, Surely thou art one of them: for thou art a Galilaean, and thy speech agreeth thereto. 

71 But he began to curse and to swear, saying, I know not this man of whom ye speak. 

72 And the second time the cock crew. And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus said unto him, Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. And when he thought thereon, he wept.
