1Ihr Inseln, schweigt vor mir! Und die Völker sollen neue Kraft gewinnen! Sie sollen herzutreten und dann reden! Lasst uns miteinander rechten!2Wer lässt den von Osten her kommen, dem Heil auf dem Fuße folgt, vor dem er Völker und Könige dahingibt, dass er ihrer mächtig wird? Sein Schwert macht sie wie Staub und sein Bogen wie verwehte Spreu. (Jes 44,28; Jes 45,1; Jes 45,13; Jes 46,11; Jes 48,14)3Er jagt ihnen nach und zieht unversehrt hindurch und berührt den Weg nicht mit seinen Füßen.4Wer tut und macht das? Wer ruft die Geschlechter von Anfang her? Ich bin’s, der HERR, der Erste, und bei den Letzten noch derselbe. (Jes 44,6; Jes 48,12; Offb 1,8; Offb 1,17)5Als die Inseln das sahen, fürchteten sie sich, und die Enden der Erde erschraken; sie nahten sich und kamen herzu.6Einer hilft dem andern und spricht zu seinem Gesellen: Sei stark!7Der Meister bestärkt den Feinschmied, der, welcher mit dem Hammer das Blech glättet, den, der mit dem Schlägel hämmert; er sagt: Das hält gut zusammen!, und festigt es mit Nägeln, dass es nicht wackelt.
Gott steht zu seinem erwählten Volk
8Du aber, Israel, mein Knecht, Jakob, den ich erwählt habe, du Same Abrahams, meines Geliebten, (Ps 135,4; Jes 42,19; Jes 44,1; Jes 44,21; Jes 45,4; Jes 48,20; Jak 2,23)9du, den ich fest ergriffen habe von den Enden der Erde her und berufen von ihren Grenzen, zu dem ich sprach: Du sollst mein Knecht sein; ich erwähle dich und verwerfe dich nicht –,10fürchte dich nicht, ich bin mit dir; weiche nicht, denn ich bin dein Gott. Ich stärke dich, ich helfe dir auch, ich halte dich durch die rechte Hand meiner Gerechtigkeit. (Jes 43,1; Jes 43,5; Jes 44,2)11Siehe, zu Spott und zuschanden sollen werden alle, die dich hassen; sie sollen werden wie nichts und die Leute, die mit dir streiten, sollen umkommen.12Wenn du nach ihnen fragst, wirst du die nicht finden, die mit dir hadern. Es sollen werden wie nichts und ein Ende haben, die dich bekämpfen.13Denn ich bin der HERR, dein Gott, der deine rechte Hand fasst und zu dir spricht: Fürchte dich nicht, ich helfe dir!14Fürchte dich nicht, du Würmlein Jakob, du armer Haufe Israel. Ich helfe dir, spricht der HERR, und dein Erlöser ist der Heilige Israels. Die Götter sollen ihre Macht beweisen
21Bringt eure Sache vor, spricht der HERR; sagt an, womit ihr euch verteidigen wollt, spricht der König in Jakob.22Sie sollen herzutreten und uns verkündigen, was kommen wird. Verkündigt es doch, was früher geweissagt wurde, damit wir darauf achten! Oder lasst uns hören, was kommen wird, damit wir merken, dass es eintrifft! (Jes 43,8; Jes 44,7)23Verkündigt uns, was hernach kommen wird, damit wir erkennen, dass ihr Götter seid! Wohlan, tut Gutes oder tut Schaden, damit wir uns verwundern und erschrecken!24Siehe, ihr seid nichts und euer Tun ist auch nichts, und euch erwählen ist ein Gräuel.25Von Norden habe ich einen kommen lassen und er ist gekommen, vom Aufgang der Sonne her den, der meinen Namen anruft. Er zerstampft die Gewaltigen wie Lehm und wie der Töpfer, der den Ton tritt.26Wer hat es von Anfang an verkündigt, dass wir’s vernahmen? Wer hat es vorher geweissagt, dass wir sagen: Das ist recht! Aber da ist keiner, der es verkündigte, keiner, der etwas hören ließ, keiner, der von euch ein Wort hörte.27Ich bin der Erste, der zu Zion sagt: Siehe, da ist’s!, und Jerusalem gebe ich einen Freudenboten. (Jes 52,7)28Schau ich mich um, da ist niemand, und unter ihnen ist kein Ratgeber, dass ich sie fragen könnte und sie mir antworteten.29Siehe, sie sind alle nichts und nichtig sind ihre Werke; ihre Götzenbilder sind leerer Wind.
