Erinnerung an Gottes Wohltaten

1 So sollst du nun den HERRN, deinen Gott, lieben und sein Gesetz, seine Ordnungen, seine Rechte und seine Gebote halten allezeit. (5Mo 6,5) 2 Und erkennt heute, was eure Kinder nicht wissen noch gesehen haben, nämlich die Erziehung durch den HERRN, euren Gott, dazu seine Herrlichkeit, seine mächtige Hand und seinen ausgereckten Arm (5Mo 4,36) 3 und seine Zeichen und Werke, die er getan hat unter den Ägyptern, an dem Pharao, dem König von Ägypten, und an seinem ganzen Lande; 4 und was er an der Heeresmacht der Ägypter getan hat, an ihren Rossen und Wagen, wie er das Wasser des Schilfmeers über sie brachte, als sie euch nachjagten und sie der HERR vernichtete, bis auf diesen Tag; (2Mo 14,25; 2Mo 14,27) 5 und was er euch getan hat in der Wüste, bis ihr an diesen Ort gekommen seid, 6 was er Datan und Abiram getan hat, den Söhnen Eliabs, des Sohnes Rubens, wie die Erde ihren Mund auftat und sie verschlang mit all ihren Leuten und ihren Zelten und allem ihrem Gut, das sie erworben hatten, mitten unter ganz Israel. (4Mo 16,25) 7 Denn eure Augen haben die großen Werke des HERRN gesehen, die er getan hat. 8 Darum sollt ihr alle die Gebote halten, die ich dir heute gebiete, auf dass ihr stark werdet, hineinzukommen und das Land einzunehmen, dahin ihr zieht, es einzunehmen, 9 und dass du lange lebest in dem Lande, das der HERR, wie er euren Vätern geschworen hat, ihnen und ihren Nachkommen geben will, ein Land, darin Milch und Honig fließt. (2Mo 3,17) 10 Denn das Land, in das du kommst, es einzunehmen, ist nicht wie Ägyptenland, von dem ihr ausgezogen seid, wo du deinen Samen säen und selbst tränken musstest wie einen Garten, 11 sondern es hat Berge und Auen, die der Regen vom Himmel tränkt, – 12 ein Land, auf das der HERR, dein Gott, achthat und die Augen des HERRN, deines Gottes, immerdar sehen vom Anfang des Jahres bis an sein Ende. 13 Werdet ihr nun auf meine Gebote hören, die ich euch heute gebiete, dass ihr den HERRN, euren Gott, liebt und ihm dient von ganzem Herzen und von ganzer Seele, (3Mo 26,3; Jer 5,24) 14 so will ich eurem Lande Regen geben zu seiner Zeit, Frühregen und Spätregen, dass du einsammelst dein Getreide, deinen Wein und dein Öl, 15 und will deinem Vieh Gras geben auf deinem Felde, dass du isst und satt wirst. 16 Hütet euch aber, dass sich euer Herz nicht betören lasse, dass ihr abfallt und dient andern Göttern und betet sie an, 17 sodass der Zorn des HERRN entbrenne über euch und schließe den Himmel zu, sodass kein Regen kommt und die Erde ihr Gewächs nicht gibt und ihr bald ausgetilgt werdet aus dem guten Lande, das euch der HERR gegeben hat. (3Mo 26,19; 5Mo 28,23) 18 So nehmt nun diese Worte zu Herzen und in eure Seele und bindet sie zum Zeichen auf eure Hand und macht sie zum Merkzeichen zwischen euren Augen (5Mo 6,6) 19 und lehrt sie eure Kinder, dass du davon redest, wenn du in deinem Hause sitzt oder unterwegs bist, wenn du dich niederlegst und wenn du aufstehst. 20 Und schreibe sie an die Pfosten deines Hauses und an deine Tore, 21 auf dass ihr und eure Kinder lange lebt in dem Lande, das der HERR, wie er deinen Vätern geschworen hat, ihnen geben will, solange die Tage des Himmels über der Erde währen. 22 Denn wenn ihr diese Gebote alle halten werdet, die ich euch gebiete, und danach tut, dass ihr den HERRN, euren Gott, liebt und wandelt in allen seinen Wegen und ihm anhangt, 23 so wird der HERR alle diese Völker vor euch her vertreiben, dass ihr größere und stärkere Völker beerbt, als ihr es seid. (5Mo 7,1) 24 Alles Land, darauf eure Fußsohle tritt, soll euer sein: von der Wüste bis an den Berg Libanon und von dem Strom Euphrat bis ans Meer im Westen soll euer Gebiet sein. 25 Niemand wird euch widerstehen können. Furcht und Schrecken vor euch wird der HERR, euer Gott, über alles Land kommen lassen, das ihr betretet, wie er euch zugesagt hat. (2Mo 23,27)

Segen und Fluch

26 Siehe, ich lege euch heute vor den Segen und den Fluch: (5Mo 30,1; 5Mo 30,15; 5Mo 30,19) 27 den Segen, wenn ihr gehorcht den Geboten des HERRN, eures Gottes, die ich euch heute gebiete; (5Mo 28,2; 5Mo 28,15) 28 den Fluch aber, wenn ihr nicht gehorchen werdet den Geboten des HERRN, eures Gottes, und abweicht von dem Wege, den ich euch heute gebiete, dass ihr andern Göttern nachwandelt, die ihr nicht kennt. 29 Wenn dich nun der HERR, dein Gott, in das Land bringt, in das du kommen sollst, es einzunehmen, so sollst du den Segen sprechen lassen auf dem Berge Garizim und den Fluch auf dem Berge Ebal, (5Mo 27,12; Jos 8,33) 30 die jenseits des Jordans liegen an der Straße gegen Sonnenuntergang im Lande der Kanaaniter, die im Jordantal wohnen, Gilgal gegenüber bei der Eiche More. (1Mo 12,6) 31 Denn ihr werdet über den Jordan gehen, dass ihr hineinkommt, das Land einzunehmen, das euch der HERR, euer Gott, gegeben hat, damit ihr’s einnehmt und darin wohnt. 32 So habt nun acht, dass ihr tut nach allen Geboten und Rechten, die ich euch heute vorlege.

1 Therefore thou shalt love the LORD thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments, alway. 2 And know ye this day: for I speak not with your children which have not known, and which have not seen the chastisement of the LORD your God, his greatness, his mighty hand, and his stretched out arm, 3 And his miracles, and his acts, which he did in the midst of Egypt unto Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and unto all his land; 4 And what he did unto the army of Egypt, unto their horses, and to their chariots; how he made the water of the Red sea to overflow them as they pursued after you, and how the LORD hath destroyed them unto this day; 5 And what he did unto you in the wilderness, until ye came into this place; 6 And what he did unto Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben: how the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and their tents, and all the substance that was in their possession, in the midst of all Israel: 7 But your eyes have seen all the great acts of the LORD which he did. 8 Therefore shall ye keep all the commandments which I command you this day, that ye may be strong, and go in and possess the land, whither ye go to possess it; 9 And that ye may prolong your days in the land, which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give unto them and to their seed, a land that floweth with milk and honey. 10 For the land, whither thou goest in to possess it, is not as the land of Egypt, from whence ye came out, where thou sowedst thy seed, and wateredst it with thy foot, as a garden of herbs: 11 But the land, whither ye go to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, and drinketh water of the rain of heaven: 12 A land which the LORD thy God careth for: the eyes of the LORD thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year. 13 And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul, 14 That I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil. 15 And I will send grass in thy fields for thy cattle, that thou mayest eat and be full. 16 Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them; 17 And then the LORD' wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD giveth you. 18 Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. 19 And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. 20 And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates: 21 That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth. 22 For if ye shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him; 23 Then will the LORD drive out all these nations from before you, and ye shall possess greater nations and mightier than yourselves. 24 Every place whereon the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even unto the uttermost sea shall your coast be. 25 There shall no man be able to stand before you: for the LORD your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he hath said unto you. 26 Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse; 27 A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day: 28 And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known. 29 And it shall come to pass, when the LORD thy God hath brought thee in unto the land whither thou goest to possess it, that thou shalt put the blessing upon mount Gerizim, and the curse upon mount Ebal. 30 Are they not on the other side Jordan, by the way where the sun goeth down, in the land of the Canaanites, which dwell in the champaign over against Gilgal, beside the plains of Moreh? 31 For ye shall pass over Jordan to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God giveth you, and ye shall possess it, and dwell therein. 32 And ye shall observe to do all the statutes and judgments which I set before you this day.
