1 Wir aber, die wir stark sind, sollen die Schwächen derer tragen, die nicht stark sind, und nicht Gefallen an uns selber haben. (Röm 14,1) 2 Ein jeder von uns lebe so, dass er seinem Nächsten gefalle zum Guten und zur Erbauung. (Röm 14,19; 1Kor 10,24; 1Kor 10,33) 3 Denn auch Christus hatte nicht an sich selbst Gefallen, sondern wie geschrieben steht: »Die Schmähungen derer, die dich schmähen, sind auf mich gefallen.« 4 Denn was zuvor geschrieben ist, das ist uns zur Lehre geschrieben, damit wir durch Geduld und den Trost der Schrift Hoffnung haben. (1Kor 10,11; 2Tim 3,16) 5 Der Gott aber der Geduld und des Trostes gebe euch, dass ihr einträchtig gesinnt seid untereinander, wie es Christus Jesus entspricht, (2Kor 13,11; Phil 2,2) 6 damit ihr einmütig mit einem Munde Gott lobt, den Vater unseres Herrn Jesus Christus. 7 Darum nehmt einander an, wie Christus euch angenommen hat zu Gottes Ehre. 8 Denn ich sage: Christus ist ein Diener der Beschneidung geworden um der Wahrhaftigkeit Gottes willen, um die Verheißungen zu bestätigen, die den Vätern gegeben sind; (Mt 15,24; Apg 3,25) 9 die Heiden aber sollen Gott die Ehre geben um der Barmherzigkeit willen, wie geschrieben steht: »Darum will ich dich loben unter den Heiden und deinem Namen singen.« 10 Und wiederum heißt es: »Freut euch, ihr Heiden, mit seinem Volk!« (5Mo 32,43) 11 Und wiederum: »Lobet den Herrn, alle Heiden, und preisen sollen ihn alle Völker!« 12 Und wiederum spricht Jesaja: »Es wird kommen der Spross aus der Wurzel Isais, und der wird aufstehen, zu herrschen über die Völker; auf den werden die Völker hoffen.« (Offb 5,5; Offb 22,16) 13 Der Gott der Hoffnung aber erfülle euch mit aller Freude und Frieden im Glauben, dass ihr immer reicher werdet an Hoffnung durch die Kraft des Heiligen Geistes.

Der Auftrag des Apostels

14 Ich weiß aber selbst sehr wohl von euch, meine Brüder und Schwestern, dass auch ihr selber voll Güte seid, erfüllt mit aller Erkenntnis, sodass ihr euch untereinander ermahnen könnt. 15 Ich habe euch aber zum Teil sehr kühn geschrieben, um euch zu erinnern kraft der Gnade, die mir von Gott gegeben ist, (Röm 1,5; Röm 12,3; Gal 2,9; Eph 3,7)

16 sodass ich ein Diener Christi Jesu unter den Heiden bin, der mit dem Evangelium Gottes wie ein Priester dient, auf dass die Heiden ein Opfer werden, das Gott wohlgefällig ist, geheiligt durch den Heiligen Geist. (Röm 11,13; Gal 2,7) 17 Darum kann ich mich rühmen in Christus Jesus, dass ich Gott diene. 18 Denn ich werde nicht wagen, etwas zu reden, das nicht Christus durch mich gewirkt hat, um die Heiden zum Gehorsam zu bringen durch Wort und Werk, (Röm 1,5; Röm 16,26; 2Kor 3,5) 19 in der Kraft von Zeichen und Wundern und in der Kraft des Geistes Gottes. So habe ich von Jerusalem aus ringsumher bis nach Illyrien das Evangelium Christi voll ausgerichtet. (Mk 16,17; 2Kor 12,12) 20 Dabei setze ich meine Ehre darein, das Evangelium zu predigen, wo Christi Name noch nicht genannt wurde, damit ich nicht auf einen fremden Grund baue, (2Kor 10,15) 21 sondern wie geschrieben steht: »Denen nichts von ihm verkündigt worden ist, die sollen sehen, und die nichts gehört haben, sollen verstehen.«

22 Das ist auch der Grund, warum ich so viele Male daran gehindert worden bin, zu euch zu kommen. (Röm 1,13) 23 Nun aber habe ich keine Aufgabe mehr in diesen Ländern. Seit vielen Jahren habe ich aber das Verlangen, zu euch zu kommen, (Röm 1,10) 24 wenn ich nach Spanien reise. Denn ich hoffe, dass ich bei euch durchreisen und euch sehen kann und von euch dorthin weitergeleitet werde, doch so, dass ich mich zuvor ein wenig an euch erquicke. 25 Jetzt aber reise ich nach Jerusalem, um den Heiligen zu dienen. (Apg 18,21; Apg 19,21; Apg 20,22; Apg 24,17)

26 Denn Makedonien und Achaia haben eine Gabe der Gemeinschaft beschlossen für die Armen unter den Heiligen in Jerusalem. (1Kor 16,1; 2Kor 8,1) 27 Sie haben’s beschlossen, denn sie sind auch ihre Schuldner. Denn wenn die Heiden an ihren geistlichen Gütern Anteil bekommen haben, ist es recht und billig, dass sie ihnen auch mit irdischen Gütern dienen. (1Kor 9,11; 2Kor 9,12) 28 Wenn ich das nun ausgerichtet und ihnen diesen Ertrag versiegelt übergeben habe, will ich von euch aus nach Spanien ziehen. 29 Ich weiß aber: Wenn ich zu euch komme, werde ich mit dem vollen Segen Christi kommen. (Röm 1,10) 30 Ich ermahne euch aber, Brüder und Schwestern, durch unsern Herrn Jesus Christus und durch die Liebe des Geistes, dass ihr mir kämpfen helft und für mich zu Gott betet, (2Kor 1,11; 2Thess 3,1) 31 dass ich errettet werde vor den Ungehorsamen in Judäa und mein Dienst, den ich für Jerusalem tue, den Heiligen willkommen sei, (1Thess 2,15) 32 damit ich mit Freuden zu euch komme nach Gottes Willen und mich mit euch erquicke. 33 Der Gott des Friedens aber sei mit euch allen! Compiacere al prossimo

1 Or noi, che siamo forti, dobbiamo sopportare le debolezze dei deboli e non compiacere a noi stessi. 2 Ciascuno di noi compiaccia al prossimo, nel bene, a scopo di edificazione. 3 Infatti anche Cristo non compiacque a se stesso; ma come è scritto: «Gli insulti di quelli che ti oltraggiano sono caduti sopra di me»^[1]. 4 Poiché tutto ciò che fu scritto nel passato, fu scritto per nostra istruzione, affinché, mediante la pazienza e la consolazione che ci provengono dalle Scritture, conserviamo la speranza. 5 Il Dio della pazienza e della consolazione vi conceda di avere tra di voi un medesimo sentimento secondo Cristo Gesù, 6 affinché di un solo animo e di una stessa bocca glorifichiate il Dio e Padre del nostro Signore Gesù Cristo. 7 Perciò accoglietevi gli uni gli altri, come anche Cristo vi ha accolti per la gloria di Dio.

La buona novella è per tutti gli uomini

8 Infatti io dico che Cristo è diventato servitore dei circoncisi a dimostrazione della veracità di Dio per confermare le promesse fatte ai padri; 9 mentre gli stranieri onorano Dio per la sua misericordia, come sta scritto: «Per questo ti celebrerò tra le nazioni e canterò le lodi al tuo nome»^[2]. 10 E ancora: «Rallegratevi, o nazioni, con il suo popolo»^[3]. 11 E altrove: «Nazioni, lodate tutte il Signore; tutti i popoli lo celebrino»^[4]. 12 Di nuovo Isaia dice: «Spunterà la radice di Isai, colui che sorgerà a governare le nazioni; in lui spereranno le nazioni»^[5]. 13 Or il Dio della speranza vi riempia di ogni gioia e di ogni pace nella fede, affinché abbondiate nella speranza, per la potenza dello Spirito Santo.

Riflessioni di Paolo sul suo apostolato; i viaggi che l’apostolo intende fare

14 Ora, fratelli miei, io pure sono persuaso, a vostro riguardo, che anche voi siete pieni di bontà, ricolmi di ogni conoscenza, capaci anche di ammonirvi a vicenda. 15 Ma vi ho scritto un po’ arditamente su alcuni punti, per ricordarveli di nuovo, a motivo della grazia che mi è stata fatta da Dio, 16 di essere un ministro di Cristo Gesù tra gli stranieri, esercitando il sacro servizio del vangelo di Dio, affinché gli stranieri diventino un’offerta gradita, santificata dallo Spirito Santo. 17 Ho dunque di che vantarmi in Cristo Gesù, per quel che concerne le cose di Dio. 18 Non oserei infatti parlare di cose che Cristo non avesse operato per mio mezzo allo scopo di condurre i pagani all’ubbidienza, con parole e opere, 19 con la potenza di segni e di prodigi, con la potenza dello Spirito {di Dio}. Così da Gerusalemme e dintorni fino all’Illiria ho predicato dappertutto il vangelo di Cristo, 20 avendo l’ambizione di predicare il vangelo là dove non era ancora stato portato il nome di Cristo, per non costruire sul fondamento altrui, 21 ma com’è scritto: «Coloro ai quali nulla era stato annunciato di lui, lo vedranno; e coloro che non ne avevano udito parlare, comprenderanno»^[6]. 22 Per questa ragione appunto sono stato tante volte impedito di venire da voi; 23 ma ora, non avendo più campo d’azione in queste regioni, e avendo già da molti anni un gran desiderio di venire da voi, 24 quando andrò in Spagna spero, passando, di vedervi e di essere aiutato da voi a raggiungere quella regione, dopo aver goduto almeno un po’ della vostra compagnia. 25 Per ora vado a Gerusalemme a rendere un servizio ai santi, 26 perché la Macedonia e l’Acaia si sono compiaciute di fare una colletta per i poveri che sono tra i santi di Gerusalemme. 27 Si sono compiaciute, ma esse sono anche in debito nei loro confronti; infatti, se gli stranieri sono stati fatti partecipi dei loro beni spirituali, sono anche in obbligo di aiutarli con i beni materiali. 28 Quando dunque avrò compiuto questo servizio e consegnato il frutto di questa colletta, andrò in Spagna passando da voi; 29 e so che, venendo da voi, verrò con la pienezza delle benedizioni di Cristo. 30 Ora {, fratelli,} vi esorto, per il Signore nostro Gesù Cristo e per l’amore dello Spirito, a combattere con me nelle preghiere che rivolgete a Dio in mio favore, 31 perché io sia liberato dagli increduli di Giudea, e il mio servizio per Gerusalemme sia gradito ai santi, 32 in modo che, se piace a Dio, io possa venire da voi con gioia ed essere confortato insieme con voi. 33 Or il Dio della pace sia con tutti voi. 1 Los fuertes en la fe debemos apoyar a los débiles, en vez de hacer lo que nos agrada. 2 Cada uno debe agradar al prójimo para su bien, con el fin de edificarlo. 3 Porque ni siquiera Cristo se agradó a sí mismo sino que, como está escrito: «Sobre mí han recaído los insultos de tus detractores.»^[1] 4 De hecho, todo lo que se escribió en el pasado se escribió para enseñarnos, a fin de que, alentados por las Escrituras, perseveremos en mantener nuestra esperanza. 5 Que el Dios que infunde aliento y perseverancia les conceda vivir juntos en armonía, conforme al ejemplo de Cristo Jesús, 6 para que con un solo corazón y a una sola voz glorifiquen al Dios y Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo. 7 Por tanto, acéptense mutuamente, así como Cristo los aceptó a ustedes para gloria de Dios. 8 Les digo que Cristo se hizo servidor de los judíos^[2] para demostrar la fidelidad de Dios, a fin de confirmar las promesas hechas a los patriarcas, 9 y para que los gentiles glorifiquen a Dios por su compasión, como está escrito: «Por eso te alabaré entre las naciones; cantaré salmos a tu nombre.»^[3] 10 En otro pasaje dice: «Alégrense, naciones, con el pueblo de Dios.»^[4] 11 Y en otra parte: «¡Alaben al Señor, naciones todas! ¡Pueblos todos, cántenle alabanzas!»^[5] 12 A su vez, Isaías afirma: «Brotará la raíz de Isaí, el que se levantará para gobernar a las naciones; en él los pueblos pondrán su esperanza.»^[6] 13 Que el Dios de la esperanza los llene de toda alegría y paz a ustedes que creen en él, para que rebosen de esperanza por el poder del Espíritu Santo.

Pablo, ministro de los gentiles

14 Por mi parte, hermanos míos, estoy seguro de que ustedes mismos rebosan de bondad, abundan en conocimiento y están capacitados para instruirse unos a otros. 15 Sin embargo, les he escrito con mucha franqueza sobre algunos asuntos, como para refrescarles la memoria. Me he atrevido a hacerlo por causa de la gracia que Dios me dio 16 para ser ministro de Cristo Jesús a los gentiles. Yo tengo el deber sacerdotal de proclamar el evangelio de Dios, a fin de que los gentiles lleguen a ser una ofrenda aceptable a Dios, santificada por el Espíritu Santo. 17 Por tanto, mi servicio a Dios es para mí motivo de orgullo en Cristo Jesús. 18 No me atreveré a hablar de nada sino de lo que Cristo ha hecho por medio de mí para que los gentiles lleguen a obedecer a Dios. Lo ha hecho con palabras y obras, 19 mediante poderosas señales y milagros, por el poder del Espíritu de Dios. Así que, habiendo comenzado en Jerusalén, he completado la proclamación del evangelio de Cristo por todas partes, hasta la región de Iliria. 20 En efecto, mi propósito ha sido predicar el evangelio donde Cristo no sea conocido, para no edificar sobre fundamento ajeno. 21 Más bien, como está escrito: «Los que nunca habían recibido noticia de él, lo verán; y entenderán los que no habían oído hablar de él.»^[7] 22 Este trabajo es lo que muchas veces me ha impedido ir a visitarlos.

23 Pero ahora que ya no me queda un lugar dónde trabajar en estas regiones, y como desde hace muchos años anhelo verlos, 24 tengo planes de visitarlos cuando vaya rumbo a España. Espero que, después de que haya disfrutado de la compañía de ustedes por algún tiempo, me ayuden a continuar el viaje. 25 Por ahora, voy a Jerusalén para llevar ayuda a los hermanos, 26 ya que Macedonia y Acaya tuvieron a bien hacer una colecta para los hermanos pobres de Jerusalén. 27 Lo hicieron de buena voluntad, aunque en realidad era su obligación hacerlo. Porque si los gentiles han participado de las bendiciones espirituales de los judíos, están en deuda con ellos para servirles con las bendiciones materiales. 28 Así que, una vez que yo haya cumplido esta tarea y entregado en sus manos este fruto, saldré para España y de paso los visitaré a ustedes. 29 Sé que, cuando los visite, iré con la abundante bendición de Cristo. 30 Les ruego, hermanos, por nuestro Señor Jesucristo y por el amor del Espíritu, que se unan conmigo en esta lucha y que oren a Dios por mí. 31 Pídanle que me libre de caer en manos de los incrédulos que están en Judea, y que los hermanos de Jerusalén reciban bien la ayuda que les llevo. 32 De este modo, por la voluntad de Dios, llegaré a ustedes con alegría y podré descansar entre ustedes por algún tiempo. 33 El Dios de paz sea con todos ustedes. Amén.
