1Freue dich nicht, Israel, jauchze nicht wie die Völker; denn du bist mit deiner Hurerei deinem Gott weggelaufen; gern nimmst du Hurenlohn auf allen Tennen. (Hos 1,2)2Tenne und Kelter sollen sie nicht nähren, und der Wein soll ihnen fehlen.3Sie sollen nicht bleiben im Lande des HERRN; sondern Ephraim muss zurück nach Ägypten und muss in Assyrien Unreines essen. (Hos 8,13)4Dort werden sie dem HERRN keinen Wein darbringen, und ihre Schlachtopfer werden ihm nicht wohlgefällig sein. Ihr Brot wird sein wie das Brot der Trauernden, an dem unrein werden alle, die davon essen; denn ihr Brot müssen sie selbst essen, es wird nichts davon in des HERRN Haus gebracht.5Was wollt ihr dann in den Festzeiten und an den Feiertagen des HERRN tun?6Denn siehe, die der Verwüstung entgangen sind, die sammelt Ägypten ein, Memphis begräbt sie. Nesseln werden wachsen, wo jetzt ihr kostbares Silber ist, und Dornen in ihren Zelten. (Hos 10,8)7Die Tage der Heimsuchung sind gekommen, die Tage der Vergeltung; dessen wird Israel innewerden. »Ein Narr ist der Prophet und wahnsinnig der Mann des Geistes!« Um deiner großen Schuld willen ist die Anfeindung groß!8Ephraim liegt auf der Lauer – bei seinem Gott ist der Prophet. Fallen auf allen seinen Wegen, Anfeindung selbst im Hause seines Gottes!9Tief verdorben ist ihr Tun wie in den Tagen von Gibea. Er gedenkt ihrer Schuld, sucht heim ihre Sünden. (Ri 19,22; Ri 20,13; Hos 10,9)
Israels Undank gegen Gottes Wohltaten
10Wie Trauben in der Wüste fand ich Israel, wie die ersten Feigen am Feigenbaum sah ich eure Väter. Sie aber kamen zum Baal-Peor und weihten sich dem schändlichen Abgott. So wurden sie zum Gräuel wie ihr Liebhaber. (4Mo 25,3; 5Mo 32,10)11Ephraim – wie ein Vogel fliegt davon seine Herrlichkeit, dass sie weder gebären noch tragen noch schwanger werden.12Und wenn sie ihre Kinder auch großzögen, will ich sie doch kinderlos machen, sodass kein Mensch mehr da ist. Ja, weh ihnen, wenn ich von ihnen weiche!13Als ich Ephraim sah, war es eine junge Palme, gepflanzt in einer Aue; aber Ephraim muss seine Söhne herausgeben dem Henker.14Gib ihnen, HERR, was immer du geben willst: Gib ihnen unfruchtbare Leiber und versiegende Brüste!15All ihre Bosheit geschah zu Gilgal; dort bin ich ihnen feind geworden. So will ich sie um ihres bösen Tuns willen aus meinem Hause stoßen und ihnen keine Liebe mehr erweisen; alle ihre Oberen sind abtrünnig.16Ephraim ist geschlagen, seine Wurzel ist verdorrt, sodass sie keine Frucht mehr bringen können. Selbst wenn sie gebären würden, will ich die ersehnte Frucht ihres Leibes töten.17Mein Gott wird sie verwerfen, weil sie nicht auf ihn hörten. So werden sie umherirren unter den Völkern.

(Ri 19,22; Hos 5,2; Hos 10,9)10Like grapes in the wilderness, I found Israel. Like the first fruit on the fig tree in its first season, I saw your fathers. But they came to Baal-peor and consecrated themselves to the thing of shame, and became detestable like the thing they loved. (4Mo 25,3; Ps 80,8; Ps 106,28; Jes 5,1; Hos 4,14; Röm 1,28; Röm 1,29)11Ephraim’s glory shall fly away like a bird— no birth, no pregnancy, no conception! (1Sam 28,15; 1Sam 28,16; Hes 10,18; Hos 5,6; Hos 7,13; Hos 13,16)13Ephraim, as I have seen, was like a young palm[1] planted in a meadow; but Ephraim must lead his children out to slaughter.[2] (Hes 27,3; Hos 12,1)14Give them, O LORD— what will you give? Give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts. (Lk 23,29)15Every evil of theirs is in Gilgal; there I began to hate them. Because of the wickedness of their deeds I will drive them out of my house. I will love them no more; all their princes are rebels. (Hos 4,15; Hos 5,2; Hos 8,4; Hos 12,11)16Ephraim is stricken; their root is dried up; they shall bear no fruit. Even though they give birth, I will put their beloved children to death.
