Antwort an die Götzendiener

1 Und es kamen einige von den Ältesten Israels zu mir und setzten sich vor mir nieder. (Hes 20,1) 2 Da geschah des HERRN Wort zu mir: 3 Du Menschenkind, diese Leute hängen mit ihrem Herzen an ihren Götzen und haben vor sich aufgestellt, was sie schuldig werden lässt. Sollte ich mich wirklich von ihnen befragen lassen? 4 Darum rede mit ihnen und sage zu ihnen: So spricht Gott der HERR: Jedem vom Hause Israel, der mit seinem Herzen an seinen Götzen hängt und vor sich aufgestellt hat, was ihn schuldig werden lässt, und dann zum Propheten kommt, dem will ich, der HERR, antworten, wie er’s verdient hat mit seinen vielen Götzen, 5 damit ich so dem Hause Israel ans Herz greife, weil sie von mir gewichen sind mit all ihren Götzen. 6 Darum sollst du zum Hause Israel sagen: So spricht Gott der HERR: Kehrt um und wendet euch ab von euren Götzen und wendet euer Angesicht von allen euren Gräueln. 7 Denn jedem vom Hause Israel oder von den Fremdlingen in Israel, der von mir weicht und mit seinem Herzen an seinen Götzen hängt und vor sich aufgestellt hat, was ihn schuldig werden lässt, und der dann zum Propheten kommt, um durch ihn mich zu befragen, dem will ich, der HERR, selbst antworten. 8 Ich will mein Angesicht gegen ihn richten und ihn zum Zeichen und Sprichwort machen und will ihn aus meinem Volk ausrotten. So sollt ihr erfahren, dass ich der HERR bin. 9 Wenn aber ein Prophet sich betören lässt, etwas zu verkünden, so habe ich, der HERR, diesen Propheten betört und will meine Hand gegen ihn ausstrecken und ihn aus meinem Volk Israel ausrotten. (1Kön 22,20) 10 So sollen sie beide ihre Schuld tragen: Wie die Schuld des Befragenden, so soll auch die Schuld des Propheten sein, (Hes 3,17) 11 damit das Haus Israel nicht mehr von mir abirrt und sich nicht mehr unrein macht durch alle seine Übertretungen; sondern sie sollen mein Volk sein, und ich will ihr Gott sein, spricht Gott der HERR. (Hes 11,20)

Wer Gottes Gericht überleben wird

12 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir: 13 Du Menschenkind, wenn ein Land an mir sündigt und Treubruch begeht und wenn ich meine Hand gegen das Land ausstrecke und ihm den Vorrat an Brot wegnehme und Hungersnot ins Land schicke, um Menschen und Vieh darin auszurotten, (Hes 4,16) 14 und wenn dann diese drei Männer im Lande wären, Noah, Daniel und Hiob, so würden sie durch ihre Gerechtigkeit allein ihr Leben retten, spricht Gott der HERR. (Jer 15,1) 15 Und wenn ich wilde Tiere ins Land bringen würde, die die Leute ausrotteten und das Land zur Einöde machten, sodass niemand mehr hindurchziehen könnte wegen der wilden Tiere, 16 und diese drei Männer wären auch darin – so wahr ich lebe, spricht Gott der HERR: Sie würden weder Söhne noch Töchter retten, sondern allein sich selbst, und das Land müsste öde werden. 17 Oder wenn ich das Schwert kommen ließe über dies Land und sprechen würde: Schwert, fahre durchs Land!, und würde Menschen und Vieh ausrotten, 18 und diese drei Männer wären darin – so wahr ich lebe, spricht Gott der HERR: Sie würden weder Söhne noch Töchter retten, sondern sie allein würden errettet werden. 19 Oder wenn ich die Pest in dies Land schicken und meinen Grimm darüber ausschütten würde mit Blutvergießen, um Menschen und Vieh darin auszurotten, 20 und Noah, Daniel und Hiob wären darin – so wahr ich lebe, spricht Gott der HERR: Sie würden durch ihre Gerechtigkeit weder Sohn noch Tochter retten, sondern allein ihr eigenes Leben. 21 Denn so spricht Gott der HERR: Wenn ich meine vier schweren Strafen, Schwert, Hunger, wilde Tiere und Pest, über Jerusalem schicken werde, um darin auszurotten Menschen und Vieh, (3Mo 26,16; Jer 15,3; Hes 5,17; Offb 6,8)

22 siehe, so sollen einige übrig bleiben und davonkommen, die Söhne und Töchter herausbringen werden. Die sollen zu euch kommen, und ihr werdet ihren Wandel und ihre Taten sehen und euch trösten über das Unheil, das ich über Jerusalem habe kommen lassen, und über all das andre, das ich über die Stadt habe kommen lassen. 23 Sie werden euer Trost sein, wenn ihr sehen werdet ihren Wandel und ihre Taten, und ihr werdet erfahren, dass ich nicht ohne Grund getan habe, was ich an Jerusalem getan habe, spricht Gott der HERR.

Idolatrous Elders Condemned

1 Then certain of the elders of Israel came to me and sat before me. (Hes 8,1) 2 And the word of the Lord came to me: 3 “Son of man, these men have taken their idols into their hearts, and set the stumbling block of their iniquity before their faces. 4 Therefore speak to them and say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Any one of the house of Israel who takes his idols into his heart and sets the stumbling block of his iniquity before his face, and yet comes to the prophet, I the Lord will answer him as he comes with the multitude of his idols, (Hes 14,7) 5 that I may lay hold of the hearts of the house of Israel, who are all estranged from me through their idols. (Jes 1,4; 2Thess 2,11) 6 “Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: Repent and turn away from your idols, and turn away your faces from all your abominations. 9 And if the prophet is deceived and speaks a word, I, the Lord, have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand against him and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel. Jerusalem Will Not Be Spared

15 “If I cause wild beasts to pass through the land, and they ravage it, and it be made desolate, so that no one may pass through because of the beasts, (Hes 5,17; Hes 6,6; Hes 12,20) 16 even if these three men were in it, as I live, declares the Lord God, they would deliver neither sons nor daughters. They alone would be delivered, but the land would be desolate. 18 though these three men were in it, as I live, declares the Lord God, they would deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they alone would be delivered. (Hes 14,14) 19 “Or if I send a pestilence into that land and pour out my wrath upon it with blood, to cut off from it man and beast, (2Sam 24,15; Hes 38,22) 20 even if Noah, Daniel, and Job were in it, as I live, declares the Lord God, they would deliver neither son nor daughter. 22 But behold, some survivors will be left in it, sons and daughters who will be brought out; behold, when they come out to you, and you see their ways and their deeds, you will be consoled for the disaster that I have brought upon Jerusalem, for all that I have brought upon it. 23 They will console you, when you see their ways and their deeds, and you shall know that I have not done without cause all that I have done in it, declares the Lord God.”
