Die frohe Botschaft
7Wie lieblich sind auf den Bergen die Füße des Freudenboten, der da Frieden verkündigt, Gutes predigt, Heil verkündigt, der da sagt zu Zion: Dein Gott ist König! (Jes 41,27; Nah 2,1; Röm 10,15)8Deine Wächter rufen mit lauter Stimme und jubeln miteinander; denn sie werden’s mit ihren Augen sehen, wenn der HERR nach Zion zurückkehrt. (Jes 62,6; Hes 3,17)9Seid fröhlich und jubelt miteinander, ihr Trümmer Jerusalems; denn der HERR hat sein Volk getröstet und Jerusalem erlöst.10Der HERR hat offenbart seinen heiligen Arm vor den Augen aller Völker, dass aller Welt Enden sehen das Heil unsres Gottes.11Weicht, weicht, zieht aus von dort und rührt nichts Unreines an! Geht weg aus ihrer Mitte, reinigt euch, die ihr des HERRN Geräte tragt!12Denn ihr sollt nicht in Eile ausziehen und in Hast entfliehen; denn der HERR wird vor euch herziehen und der Gott Israels euren Zug beschließen. Das stellvertretende Leiden und die Herrlichkeit des Knechtes Gottes
13Siehe, meinem Knecht wird’s gelingen, er wird erhöht und sehr hoch erhaben sein. (Jes 42,1; Jes 49,1; Jes 50,4)14Wie sich viele über ihn entsetzten – so entstellt sah er aus, nicht mehr wie ein Mensch und seine Gestalt nicht wie die der Menschenkinder –,15so wird er viele Völker in Staunen versetzen, dass auch Könige ihren Mund vor ihm zuhalten. Denn was ihnen nie erzählt wurde, das werden sie nun sehen, und was sie nie gehört haben, nun erfahren. (Jes 65,1; Röm 15,21)

Viertes Lied: Der Knecht Gottes – Sein Leiden zur Gerechtigkeit für viele
13Siehe, mein Knecht wird einsichtig handeln[8]. Er wird erhoben und erhöht werden und sehr hoch sein. (Jes 42,1; Jer 23,5; Phil 2,9)14Wie sich viele über dich[9] entsetzt haben – so entstellt war sein Aussehen, mehr als das irgendeines Mannes, und seine Gestalt mehr als die der Menschenkinder –, (Jes 53,2)15ebenso wird er viele Nationen besprengen[10]; über ihn werden Könige ihren Mund schließen. The suffering and glory of the servant
13See, my servant will act wisely[2]; he will be raised and lifted up and highly exalted.14Just as there were many who were appalled at him[3] – his appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any human being and his form marred beyond human likeness –15so he will sprinkle many nations,[4] and kings will shut their mouths because of him. For what they were not told, they will see, and what they have not heard, they will understand.
