Ermahnung zur Liebe und zum Gehorsam gegen den Herrn

1 Dies sind die Gesetze und Gebote und Rechte, die der HERR, euer Gott, geboten hat, euch zu lehren, dass ihr sie tun sollt in dem Lande, in das ihr zieht, es einzunehmen, 2 damit du dein Leben lang den HERRN, deinen Gott, fürchtest und alle seine Rechte und Gebote hältst, die ich dir gebiete, du und deine Kinder und deine Kindeskinder, auf dass du lange lebest. 3 Israel, du sollst es hören und festhalten, dass du es tust, auf dass dir’s wohlgehe und du groß an Zahl werdest, wie der HERR, der Gott deiner Väter, dir zugesagt hat, in dem Lande, darin Milch und Honig fließt. (Lk 11,28) 4 Höre, Israel, der HERR ist unser Gott, der HERR ist einer. (Mk 12,29; 1Kor 8,4; 1Kor 8,6) 5 Und du sollst den HERRN, deinen Gott, lieb haben von ganzem Herzen, von ganzer Seele und mit all deiner Kraft. (5Mo 10,12; 2Kön 23,25; Mt 22,37) 6 Und diese Worte, die ich dir heute gebiete, sollst du zu Herzen nehmen (5Mo 11,18) 7 und sollst sie deinen Kindern einschärfen und davon reden, wenn du in deinem Hause sitzt oder unterwegs bist, wenn du dich niederlegst oder aufstehst. (1Mo 18,19) 8 Und du sollst sie binden zum Zeichen auf deine Hand, und sie sollen dir ein Merkzeichen zwischen deinen Augen sein, (2Mo 13,9; Mt 23,5) 9 und du sollst sie schreiben auf die Pfosten deines Hauses und an die Tore. 10 Wenn dich nun der HERR, dein Gott, in das Land bringen wird, von dem er deinen Vätern Abraham, Isaak und Jakob geschworen hat, es dir zu geben – große und schöne Städte, die du nicht gebaut hast, 11 und Häuser voller Güter, die du nicht gefüllt hast, und ausgehauene Brunnen, die du nicht ausgehauen hast, und Weinberge und Ölbäume, die du nicht gepflanzt hast –, und wenn du nun isst und satt wirst, (5Mo 8,10) 12 so hüte dich, dass du nicht den HERRN vergisst, der dich aus Ägyptenland, aus der Knechtschaft, geführt hat, 13 sondern du sollst den HERRN, deinen Gott, fürchten und ihm dienen und bei seinem Namen schwören. (5Mo 10,20; Mt 4,10) 14 Und ihr sollt nicht andern Göttern nachfolgen, den Göttern der Völker, die um euch her sind – 15 denn der HERR, dein Gott, ist ein eifernder Gott in deiner Mitte –, dass nicht der Zorn des HERRN, deines Gottes, über dich entbrenne und dich vertilge von der Erde. (2Mo 20,5) 16 Ihr sollt den HERRN, euren Gott, nicht versuchen, wie ihr ihn versucht habt in Massa, (2Mo 17,2; 2Mo 17,7; Mt 4,7) 17 sondern sollt halten die Gebote des HERRN, eures Gottes, seine Vermahnungen und seine Rechte, die er dir geboten hat, 18 dass du tust, was recht und gut ist vor den Augen des HERRN, auf dass dir’s wohlgehe und du hineinkommest und einnehmest das gute Land, von dem der HERR deinen Vätern geschworen hat, 19 dass er verjagen wolle alle deine Feinde vor dir, wie der HERR es zugesagt hat. (2Mo 23,27) 20 Wenn dich nun dein Sohn morgen fragen wird: Was sind das für Vermahnungen, Gebote und Rechte, die euch der HERR, unser Gott, geboten hat?, (2Mo 13,14) 21 so sollst du deinem Sohn sagen: Wir waren Knechte des Pharao in Ägypten, und der HERR führte uns aus Ägypten mit mächtiger Hand; (Ps 44,2) 22 und der HERR tat große und furchtbare Zeichen und Wunder an Ägypten und am Pharao und an seinem ganzen Hause vor unsern Augen 23 und führte uns von dort weg, um uns hineinzubringen und uns das Land zu geben, wie er unsern Vätern geschworen hatte. 24 Und der HERR hat uns geboten, nach all diesen Rechten zu tun, dass wir den HERRN, unsern Gott, fürchten, auf dass es uns wohlgehe allezeit und er uns am Leben erhalte, so wie es heute ist. (Gal 3,21) 25 Und das wird unsere Gerechtigkeit sein, dass wir alle diese Gebote tun und halten vor dem HERRN, unserm Gott, wie er uns geboten hat. (5Mo 9,5; Röm 2,13; Röm 2,19)

L’Eternel seul

1 Voici les commandements, les ordonnances et les lois que l’Eternel ton Dieu m’a chargé de t’enseigner pour que tu les appliques dans le pays où tu vas entrer pour en prendre possession, 2 et que tu craignes l’Eternel ton Dieu en obéissant toute ta vie à toutes ses ordonnances et à tous ses commandements que je te transmets. Ils sont pour toi, pour tes fils et pour leurs descendants. Ainsi tu jouiras d’une longue vie. 3 C’est pourquoi, ô Israël, écoute-les, veille à y obéir, et applique-les, afin d’être heureux et de devenir très nombreux dans ce pays ruisselant de lait et de miel, comme l’Eternel, le Dieu de tes ancêtres, te l’a dit. 4 Ecoute, Israël, l’Eternel est notre Dieu, l’Eternel seul^[1]. (Mk 12,29) 5 Tu aimeras l’Eternel ton Dieu de tout ton cœur, de toute ton âme et de toute ta force^[2]. (Mt 22,37; Mk 12,30; Lk 10,27) 6 Que ces commandements que je te donne aujourd’hui restent gravés dans ton cœur^[3]. (5Mo 11,18) 7 Tu les inculqueras à tes enfants et tu en parleras chez toi dans ta maison, et quand tu marcheras sur la route, quand tu te coucheras et quand tu te lèveras. 8 Qu’ils soient attachés comme un signe sur ta main et comme une marque sur ton front. 9 Tu les inscriras sur les poteaux de ta maison et sur les montants de tes portes^[4]. (Mt 23,5) 10 Lorsque l’Eternel ton Dieu t’aura fait entrer dans le pays qu’il a promis par serment à tes ancêtres Abraham, Isaac et Jacob^[5] de te donner, tu y trouveras de grandes et belles cités que tu n’as pas bâties, (1Mo 12,7; 1Mo 26,3; 1Mo 28,13) 11 des maisons remplies de toutes sortes de biens que tu n’as pas amassés, des citernes taillées dans le roc que tu n’as pas creusées, des vignes et des oliviers que tu n’as pas plantés. Lorsque tu mangeras et que tu seras rassasié, 12 garde-toi bien d’oublier l’Eternel qui t’a fait sortir d’Egypte, du pays où tu étais esclave. 13 C’est l’Eternel ton Dieu que tu dois craindre, c’est à lui que tu rendras un culte, et c’est par son nom que tu prêteras serment^[6]. (Mt 4,10; Lk 4,8) 14 Vous ne vous rallierez pas à d’autres dieux, ces dieux des peuples qui vous entoureront, 15 car l’Eternel votre Dieu, qui est au milieu de vous, est un Dieu qui ne tolère aucun rival: il se mettrait en colère contre vous et vous ferait disparaître de la surface de la terre. 16 Vous ne forcerez pas la main à l’Eternel votre Dieu comme vous l’avez fait à Massa^[7]; (2Mo 17,1) 17 mais vous aurez soin d’obéir aux commandements, aux lois et aux ordonnances que l’Eternel votre Dieu vous a donnés. 18 Tu feras ce que l’Eternel juge juste et bon, afin que tu sois heureux et que tu parviennes à prendre possession du bon pays que l’Eternel a promis par serment à tes ancêtres, 19 en chassant tous tes ennemis, comme il l’a promis. 20 Lorsque, plus tard, vos fils vous demanderont: « De quel droit l’Eternel notre Dieu vous a-t-il imposé ces ordonnances, ces lois et ces décrets? » 21 vous leur répondrez: « Nous avons été esclaves du pharaon en Egypte, et l’Eternel nous a tirés de là avec puissance. 22 Il a accompli sous nos yeux des signes miraculeux et de grands prodiges pour le malheur de l’Egypte, du pharaon et de tous ceux de son entourage. 23 Mais nous, il nous a fait sortir de là pour nous amener ici et nous donner le pays qu’il avait promis par serment à nos ancêtres. 24 Et l’Eternel notre Dieu nous a ordonné d’appliquer toutes ces lois et de le craindre ainsi, afin que nous soyons toujours heureux et qu’il nous accorde de vivre comme il l’a fait jusqu’à ce jour. 25 Nous serons donc justes^[8] si nous prenons soin d’obéir à tous ces commandements en présence de l’Eternel notre Dieu, comme il nous l’a ordonné. »

Ihr sollt Gott von Herzen lieben!

1 Dies sind die Gebote, Ordnungen und Weisungen, die ich euch im Auftrag des HERRN, eures Gottes, lehren soll. Ihr sollt euch daran halten, wenn ihr das Land besitzt, in das ihr nun hinüberzieht. 2 Euer ganzes Leben lang sollt ihr und eure Nachkommen Ehrfurcht vor dem HERRN, eurem Gott, haben. Befolgt seine Ordnungen und Gebote, die ihr von mir bekommt! Dann werdet ihr lange leben. 3 Hört also gut zu, ihr Israeliten, und richtet euch danach! Dann wird es euch gut gehen: Ihr werdet in einem Land wohnen, in dem es selbst Milch und Honig im Überfluss gibt, und dort zu einem großen Volk heranwachsen. Das hat euch der HERR, der Gott eurer Vorfahren, versprochen. 4 Hört, ihr Israeliten! Der HERR ist unser Gott, der HERR allein. 5 Ihr sollt ihn von ganzem Herzen lieben, mit ganzer Hingabe und mit all eurer Kraft. 6 Bewahrt die Worte im Herzen, die ich euch heute sage! 7 Prägt sie euren Kindern ein! Redet immer und überall davon, ob ihr zu Hause oder unterwegs seid, ob ihr euch schlafen legt oder aufsteht. 8 Schreibt euch diese Worte zur Erinnerung auf ein Band und bindet es um die Hand und die Stirn! 9 Ritzt sie ein in die Pfosten eurer Haustüren und Stadttore! 10 Der HERR, euer Gott, wird euch nun in das Land bringen, das er euren Vorfahren Abraham, Isaak und Jakob mit einem Eid versprochen hat. Er wird euch dort große und schöne Städte geben, die ihr nicht erbaut habt, 11 Häuser voller Güter, für die ihr nicht arbeiten musstet, Zisternen, die ihr nicht ausgehoben habt, und Weinberge und Olivenhaine, die ihr nicht angelegt habt. Ihr werdet essen können, so viel ihr wollt. 12 Aber achtet darauf, dass ihr den HERRN nicht vergesst, euren Gott, der euch aus der Sklaverei in Ägypten befreit hat. 13 Nur vor ihm sollt ihr Ehrfurcht haben, nur ihm dienen und nur bei seinem Namen schwören! 14 Verehrt nicht die Götter eurer Nachbarvölker! 15 Sonst wird der HERR, euer Gott, zornig und vernichtet euch. Denn er wohnt mitten unter euch, und er duldet keinen anderen Gott neben sich. 16 Fordert den HERRN, euren Gott, nicht heraus, wie ihr es in Massa getan habt!^[1] (2Mo 17,1) 17 Beachtet genau seine Gebote, Weisungen und Ordnungen! 18 Tut, was in seinen Augen gut und gerecht ist! Dann wird es euch gut gehen, und ihr werdet das gute Land in Besitz nehmen, das der HERR euren Vorfahren versprochen hat. 19 Alle eure Feinde werdet ihr vertreiben, so wie er es euch zugesagt hat. 20 Später werden euch eure Kinder fragen: »Warum hat der HERR, unser Gott, euch all diese Gesetze, Weisungen und Ordnungen gegeben?« 21 Dann sollt ihr ihnen antworten: »Früher mussten wir als Sklaven für den Pharao in Ägypten arbeiten. Aber der HERR hat uns mit starker Hand befreit. 22 Vor unseren Augen hat er große Wunder getan und schreckliches Unglück über Ägypten, den Pharao und seine Familie gebracht. 23 Er hat uns dort herausgeholt, um uns in das Land zu bringen, das er unseren Vorfahren mit einem Eid versprochen hatte. 24 Dann gab er uns alle diese Ordnungen, damit wir uns daran halten und Ehrfurcht vor ihm haben. So wird er dafür sorgen, dass es uns gut geht und wir lange leben. 25 Wenn wir alle diese Gebote befolgen, die uns der HERR, unser Gott, gegeben hat, können wir vor ihm bestehen^[2].«

1 Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it: 2 That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son' son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged. 3 Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it ; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey. 4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: 5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. 6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: 7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. 8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. 9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates. 10 And it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not, 11 And houses full of all good things , which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full; 12 Then beware lest thou forget the LORD, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. 13 Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name. 14 Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you; 15 (For the LORD thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth. 16 Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted him in Massah. 17 Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee. 18 And thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of the LORD: that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, 19 To cast out all thine enemies from before thee, as the LORD hath spoken. 20 And when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD our God hath commanded you? 21 Then thou shalt say unto thy son, We were Pharaoh' bondmen in Egypt; and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand: 22 And the LORD shewed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes: 23 And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers. 24 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day. 25 And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he hath commanded us.
