Psalm 76

King James Version

1 To the chief Musician on Neginoth, A Psalm or Song of Asaph. In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel. 

2 In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion. 

3 There brake he the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. Selah. 

4 Thou art more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey. 

5 The stouthearted are spoiled, they have slept their sleep: and none of the men of might have found their hands. 

6 At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep. 

7 Thou, even thou, art to be feared: and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry? 

8 Thou didst cause judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth feared, and was still, 

9 When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. Selah. 

10 Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain. 

11 Vow, and pay unto the LORD your God: let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared. 

12 He shall cut off the spirit of princes: he is terrible to the kings of the earth.

2 Gott ist in Juda bekannt, sein Name ist groß in Israel; (Ps 48:2; Jer 10:6) 

3 in Salem ist sein Zelt und seine Wohnung in Zion. (Ps 132:13) 

4 Dort zerbricht er die Blitze des Bogens, Schild, Schwert und Kriegsgerät. (Sela.) (Ps 46:10) 

5 Glanzvoll bist du, Mächtiger, Über den Bergen von Beute! (Ps 97:5; Eze 35:1; Zec 4:7) 

6 Die Tapferen werden ausgeplündert; sie sinken in ihren Schlaf, und den Kriegsleuten versagen die Hände. (2Ch 32:21; Isa 37:36; Jer 51:37) 

7 Von deinem Schelten, o Gott Jakobs, sinken Ross und Reiter in tiefen Schlaf! (Ex 15:1; Ps 75:9; Zec 12:4) 

8 Du bist zu fürchten, und wer kann vor deinem Angesicht bestehen, wenn dein Zorn entbrennt? (Ne 1:5; Ps 76:13; Na 1:6; Re 6:17) 

9 Wenn du das Urteil vom Himmel erschallen lässt, erschrickt die Erde und hält sich still, (Isa 30:31; Hab 2:20) 

10 wenn Gott sich erhebt zum Gericht, um zu retten alle Elenden im Land. (Sela.) (Ps 12:6; Ps 72:12; Isa 11:4) 

11 Denn der Zorn des Menschen muss dich preisen, mit dem Rest der Zornesflammen gürtest du dich. (Ex 9:16; Da 3:19) 

12 Legt Gelübde ab und erfüllt sie dem HERRN, eurem Gott; von allen Seiten soll man Geschenke bringen dem Furchtgebietenden! (2Ch 32:23; Ps 15:4; Ps 50:14) 

13 Er beschneidet den Mut der Fürsten und ist furchtbar gegen die Könige auf Erden. (Isa 24:21; Isa 40:22; Da 4:28)
