1 To the chief Musician on Neginoth, Maschil, A Psalm of David, when the Ziphims came and said to Saul, Doth not David hide himself with us? Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength. 2 Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth. 3 For strangers are risen up against me, and oppressors seek after my soul: they have not set God before them. Selah. 4 Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul. 5 He shall reward evil unto mine enemies: cut them off in thy truth. 6 I will freely sacrifice unto thee: I will praise thy name, O LORD; for it is good. 7 For he hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies.

Ein Lehrgedicht von David, 2 als die Männer von Sif Saul meldeten, dass David sich bei ihnen versteckt hielt.^[1] (1Sa 23:19) 3 Gott, durch deinen Namen rette mich! / Schaff mir Recht durch deine Macht! 4 Gott, hör mein Gebet, / gib den Worten meines Mundes ein Ohr! 5 Denn Fremde stehen gegen mich auf, / Gewalttäter wollen mir ans Leben. / Sie kümmern sich nicht um Gott. ♪ 6 Aber ich weiß: Gott ist mein Helfer! / Der Herr ist es, der mein Leben beschützt. 7 Lenke das Böse auf meine Feinde zurück! / Zeige deine Treue und mache sie stumm! 8 Dann bringe ich dir Opfer mit Freude. / Deinen Namen, Jahwe, will ich preisen, denn er ist gut, 9 weil er mich gerettet hat aus aller Not. / Und nun sehe ich auf meine Feinde herab.

Dieu m’a délivré

1 Au chef de chœur. Une méditation^[1] de David, à chanter avec accompagnement d’instruments à cordes. 2 Il le composa lorsque les Ziphiens vinrent dire à Saül: « David est caché parmi nous^[2]. » (1Sa 23:19; 1Sa 26:1) 3 Dieu, interviens toi-même ╵et sauve-moi! Agis avec puissance ╵pour me rendre justice! 4 Ecoute ma prière, ô Dieu, prête attention ╵à mes paroles! 5 Des étrangers^[3] m’ont attaqué, des gens violents ╵en veulent à ma vie. Ils n’ont aucun souci de Dieu! Pause (Isa 25:5) 6 Mais Dieu est mon secours! Le Seigneur est mon seul appui^[4]. 7 Qu’il fasse retomber le mal ╵sur mes ennemis mêmes. Dans ta fidélité, ╵réduis-les à néant! 8 Je t’offrirai ╵des sacrifices volontaires^[5].
