1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. 2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. 3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. 4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. 5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, 6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. 7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. 8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. 10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. 11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him. 12 Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee; 13 And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim: 14 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, 15 The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles; 16 The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up. 17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. 18 And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. 19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. 20 And they straightway left their nets, and followed him. 21 And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them. 22 And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him. 23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. 24 And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them. 25 And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.

1 Dann wurde Jesus vom Geist Gottes ins Bergland der Wüste hinaufgeführt, weil er dort vom Teufel versucht werden sollte. 2 Vierzig Tage und Nächte lang aß er nichts. Als dann der Hunger ihn quälte, 3 trat der Versucher heran und sagte: „Wenn du Gottes Sohn bist, dann befiehl, dass diese Steine hier zu Brot werden.“ 4 Aber Jesus antwortete: „Nein, in der Schrift steht: 'Der Mensch lebt nicht nur von Brot, sondern von jedem Wort, das aus Gottes Mund kommt.'“ (De 8:3) 5 Daraufhin ging der Teufel mit ihm in die Heilige Stadt, stellte ihn auf den höchsten Vorsprung im Tempel 6 und sagte: „Wenn du Gottes Sohn bist, dann stürz dich hier hinunter! Es steht ja geschrieben: , Er schickt seine Engel für dich aus, / um dich zu beschützen. / Auf den Händen werden sie dich tragen, / damit dein Fuß nicht an einen Stein stößt.'“ (Ps 91:11) 7 Jesus gab ihm zur Antwort: „Es heißt aber auch: 'Du sollst den Herrn, deinen Gott, nicht herausfordern!'“ (De 6:16) 8 Schließlich ging der Teufel mit ihm auf einen sehr hohen Berg, zeigte ihm alle Königreiche der Welt und ihre Pracht 9 und sagte: „Das alles will ich dir geben, wenn du dich vor mir niederwirfst und mich anbetest.“ 10 Da sagte Jesus: „Weg mit dir, Satan! Es steht geschrieben: 'Du sollst den Herrn, deinen Gott, anbeten und ihm allein dienen!'“ (De 6:13) 11 Da ließ der Teufel von Jesus ab, und Engel kamen und versorgten ihn.

Erste Taten in Galiläa

12 Als Jesus hörte, dass man Johannes ins Gefängnis geworfen hatte, zog er sich nach Galiläa zurück. 13 Er blieb aber nicht in Nazaret, sondern verlegte seinen Wohnsitz nach Kafarnaum^[1] am See im Gebiet der Stämme Sebulon und Naftali. 14 So erfüllte sich, was durch den Propheten Jesaja vorausgesagt wurde: 15 „Du Land Sebulon und Naftali, / am See gelegen und jenseits des Jordan, / Galiläa der Völker: 16 Das Volk, das im Finstern lebte, / hat ein großes Licht gesehen. / Über denen, die im Land der Todesschatten wohnten, / ist Licht aufgegangen.“^[2] (Isa 9:1) 17 Von da an begann Jesus zu predigen: „Ändert eure Einstellung, denn die Himmelsherrschaft bricht bald an!“ 18 Als Jesus am See von Galiläa^[3] entlangging, sah er Fischer, die ihre runden Wurfnetze auswarfen. Es waren Simon, der auch Petrus genannt wurde, und sein Bruder Andreas. 19 Jesus sagte zu ihnen: „Kommt, folgt mir! Ich werde euch zu Menschenfischern machen.“ 20 Sofort ließen sie die Netze liegen und folgten ihm. 21 Als er ein Stück weitergegangen war, sah er wieder zwei Brüder, Jakobus und Johannes, die Söhne des Zebedäus. Sie waren mit ihrem Vater im Boot und brachten die Netze in Ordnung. Auch sie forderte er auf, mit ihm zu kommen. 22 Da verließen sie das Boot und ihren Vater und folgten ihm. 23 Jesus zog in ganz Galiläa umher. Er lehrte in den Synagogen und verkündigte die Freudenbotschaft vom Reich Gottes.^[4] Außerdem heilte er dort alle Arten von Krankheit und Leid. 24 Bald wurde überall von ihm gesprochen, selbst in Syrien. Man brachte alle Leidenden zu ihm, Menschen, die an den unterschiedlichsten Krankheiten und Beschwerden litten, auch Besessene, Anfallskranke^[5] und Gelähmte. Er heilte sie alle. 25 Große Menschenmassen folgten ihm aus Galiläa, aus dem Zehnstädtegebiet,^[6] aus Jerusalem und Judäa und von der anderen Seite des Jordan.

La tentation de Jésus

(Mr 1:12; Lu 4:1) 2 Après avoir jeûné pendant quarante jours et quarante nuits, il eut faim. 3 Le tentateur s’approcha et lui dit: Si tu es le Fils de Dieu, ordonne que ces pierres se changent en pains. 4 Jésus répondit: Il est écrit: L’homme ne vivra pas seulement de pain, mais aussi de toute parole que Dieu prononce^[1]. (De 8:3) 5 Alors le diable l’emmena dans la cité sainte, le plaça tout en haut du Temple 6 et lui dit: Si tu es le Fils de Dieu, jette-toi en bas, car il est écrit: Il donnera des ordres ╵à ses anges à ton sujet et ils te porteront sur leurs mains pour que ton pied ne heurte pas de pierre^[2]. Jésus à Capernaüm et en Galilée

12 Quand Jésus apprit que Jean avait été emprisonné, il se retira en Galilée, (Mr 1:14; Lu 4:14) 13 mais il ne resta pas à Nazareth. Il alla s’établir à Capernaüm, une ville située au bord du lac, dans les territoires de Zabulon et de Nephtali. 14 Ainsi s’accomplit cette parole du prophète Esaïe qui avait annoncé: 15 Ecoute, ô toi, terre de Zabulon ╵et toi, terre de Nephtali, contrée voisine de la mer, ╵située au-delà du Jourdain, ô toi, Galilée des populations étrangères: 16 Le peuple qui vivait dans les ténèbres a vu briller une grande lumière, et sur ceux qui habitaient dans le pays sur lequel planait l’ombre de la mort, une lumière s’est levée^[5]. (Isa 8:23; Isa 9:1) 17 A partir de ce moment, Jésus commença à prêcher en public en disant: Changez^[6], car le royaume^[7] des cieux est proche. Ils étaient dans leur bateau avec Zébédée, leur père, et ils réparaient leurs filets. Il les appela 22 et, aussitôt, ils laissèrent leur bateau, quittèrent leur père, et le suivirent. (Mr 3:7; Lu 6:17) 23 Jésus parcourait toute la Galilée, il enseignait dans les synagogues, proclamait la bonne nouvelle du royaume^[8] des cieux et guérissait les gens de toutes maladies et de toutes infirmités. On lui amena tous ceux qui étaient atteints de diverses maladies et souffraient de divers maux: ceux qui étaient sous l’emprise de démons ainsi que des épileptiques^[9] et des paralysés, et il les guérit tous. 25 Des foules nombreuses se mirent à le suivre; elles étaient venues de la Galilée, de la région des « Dix Villes »^[10], de Jérusalem, de la Judée et du territoire transjordanien.
