1At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat.2But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.3But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;4How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?5Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?6But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.7But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.8For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.9And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:10And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.11And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?12How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.13Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.14Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.15But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;16And charged them that they should not make him known:17That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,18Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.19He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.20A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.21And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.22Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.23And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?24But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.25And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:26And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?27And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.28But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.29Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.30He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.31Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.32And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.33Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.34O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.35A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.36But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.37For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.38Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.39But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:40For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.41The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.42The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.43When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.44Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.45Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.46While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.47Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.48But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?49And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!50For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.
1In dieser Zeit ging Jesus an einem Sabbat durch Kornfelder. Seine Jünger waren hungrig. Deshalb fingen sie an, Ähren abzurupfen und die Körner zu essen.2Als einige Pharisäer das sahen, sagten sie zu ihm: „Was deine Jünger da tun, ist doch am Sabbat nicht erlaubt!“[1]3Jesus entgegnete: „Habt ihr denn nie gelesen, was David getan hat, als er und seine Begleiter hungrig waren?4Wie er ins Haus Gottes ging und von den geweihten Broten aß, die weder er noch seine Begleiter essen durften, sondern nur die Priester?5Oder habt ihr nie im Gesetz gelesen, dass die Priester auch am Sabbat im Tempel Dienst tun? Damit übertreten sie die Sabbatvorschriften und werden doch nicht schuldig.6Und ich sage euch: Hier ist einer, der mehr ist als der Tempel.7Wenn ihr begriffen hättet, was das heißt: 'Barmherzigkeit ist mir lieber als Opfer!', dann hättet ihr nicht Unschuldige verurteilt.8Denn der Menschensohn ist Herr über den Sabbat.“9Nach diesen Worten ging er weiter und kam in ihre Synagoge.10Dort saß ein Mann, dessen Hand verkrüppelt war. Da fragten sie ihn: „Ist es erlaubt, am Sabbat zu heilen?“, denn sie wollten einen Grund finden, ihn anzuklagen.11Jesus erwiderte: „Wenn am Sabbat einem von euch ein Schaf in eine Grube stürzt, zieht er es dann nicht sofort wieder heraus?12Nun ist ein Mensch doch viel mehr wert als ein Schaf. Also ist es erlaubt, am Sabbat Gutes zu tun.“13Dann befahl er dem Mann: „Streck die Hand aus!“ Der gehorchte, und seine Hand war heil und gesund wie die andere.14Da verließen die Pharisäer die Synagoge und berieten miteinander, wie sie ihn vernichten könnten.
Gottes Beauftragter
15Jesus wusste, was sie vorhatten, und ging weg. Scharen von Menschen folgten ihm, und er heilte sie alle.16Aber er verbot ihnen nachdrücklich, in der Öffentlichkeit von ihm zu reden.17Damit sollte in Erfüllung gehen, was der Prophet Jesaja angekündigt hatte:18„Seht, das ist mein Diener, den ich erwählte, / den ich liebe und über den ich mich freue. / Ich werde meinen Geist auf ihn legen, / und er verkündet den Völkern das Recht.19Er wird nicht streiten und herumschreien. / Man wird seine Stimme nicht auf den Straßen hören.20Ein geknicktes Rohr wird er nicht zerbrechen, / einen glimmenden Docht löscht er nicht aus. / So verhilft er dem Recht zum Sieg.21Und auf ihn werden die Völker hoffen.“ (Isa 42:1)
Wer Böses in sich hat
22Damals brachte man einen Besessenen zu Jesus, der blind und stumm war. Als er ihn geheilt hatte, konnte der Mann wieder reden und sehen.23Die Leute waren außer sich vor Staunen und sagten: „Ist das etwa der Sohn Davids?“24Doch als die Pharisäer es hörten, sagten sie: „Der treibt die Dämonen ja nur durch Beelzebul, den Oberdämon, aus.“25Jesus wusste genau, was sie dachten, und sagte zu ihnen: „Jedes Reich, das sich selbst bekriegt, geht zugrunde. Auch eine Stadt oder Familie, die in sich zerstritten ist, hat keinen Bestand.26Wenn also der Satan den Satan austreibt, wäre er in sich zerstritten. Wie soll dann sein Reich bestehen?27Und – wenn ich die Dämonen tatsächlich mit Hilfe von Beelzebul austreibe, durch welche Macht treiben eure Schüler sie dann aus? Sie werden deshalb das Urteil über euch sprechen.28Wenn ich aber die Dämonen durch den Geist Gottes austreibe, dann ist das Reich Gottes schon zu euch gekommen.29Oder wie kann jemand in das Haus eines Starken eindringen und ihm seinen Besitz rauben, wenn er ihn nicht vorher fesselt? Erst dann kann er sein Haus ausrauben.30Wer nicht auf meiner Seite steht, ist gegen mich, und wer nicht mit mir sammelt, zerstreut.31Deshalb sage ich: Alle Sünden können den Menschen vergeben werden, selbst die Gotteslästerungen, die sie aussprechen. Wer aber den Heiligen Geist lästert, wird keine Vergebung finden.32Wer etwas gegen den Menschensohn sagt, dem kann vergeben werden. Wer aber gegen den Heiligen Geist redet, dem wird nicht vergeben werden, weder in dieser Welt noch in der kommenden.33Wenn ein Baum gut ist, sind auch seine Früchte gut, ist er schlecht, sind auch seine Früchte schlecht. An den Früchten erkennt man den Baum.34Ihr Giftschlangenbrut! Wie könnt ihr Gutes reden, wenn ihr böse seid? Denn aus dem Mund kommt das, was das Herz erfüllt.35Der gute Mensch bringt Gutes hervor, weil er mit Gutem angefüllt ist. Der böse Mensch bringt Böses hervor, weil er Böses in sich hat.36Ich sage euch: Am Tag des Gerichts werden die Menschen Rechenschaft über jedes nutzlose Wort ablegen müssen, das sie gesagt haben.37Denn aufgrund deiner eigenen Worte wirst du freigesprochen oder verurteilt werden.“38Daraufhin sagten einige der Gesetzeslehrer und Pharisäer zu ihm: „Rabbi, wir wollen ein Zeichen von dir sehen!“39„Diese verdorbene Generation, die von Gott nichts wissen will, verlangt nach einem Zeichen!“, antwortete Jesus. „Doch es wird ihr keins gegeben werden, nur das des Propheten Jona.40Denn wie Jona drei Tage und drei Nächte[2] im Bauch des großen Fisches war, so wird der Menschensohn drei Tage und drei Nächte im Schoß der Erde sein.41Im Gericht werden die Männer von Ninive auftreten und diese Generation schuldig sprechen. Denn sie haben ihre Einstellung auf Jonas Predigt hin geändert – und hier steht einer, der mehr bedeutet als Jona.42Die Königin des Südens wird beim Gericht gegen die Männer dieser Generation auftreten und sie verurteilen. Denn sie kam vom Ende der Erde, um die Weisheit Salomos zu hören – und hier steht einer, der mehr bedeutet als Salomo.43Wenn ein böser Geist einen Menschen verlässt, zieht er durch öde Gegenden und sucht nach einem Ruheplatz, findet aber keinen.44Dann sagt er sich: 'Ich werde wieder in die Behausung zurückgehen, die ich verlassen habe.' Er kehrt zurück und findet alles leer, sauber und aufgeräumt.45Dann geht er los und holt sieben andere Geister, die noch schlimmer sind als er selbst, und sie ziehen gemeinsam dort ein. So ist dieser Mensch am Ende schlechter dran als am Anfang. Genauso wird es auch dieser bösen Generation ergehen.“46Während Jesus noch zu der Menschenmenge sprach, waren seine Mutter und seine Brüder gekommen. Sie standen vor dem Haus und verlangten, ihn zu sprechen.47„Deine Mutter und deine Brüder sind draußen und fragen nach dir“, sagte ihm einer.48„Wer ist meine Mutter und wer sind meine Brüder?“, antwortete ihm Jesus.49Dann wies er mit der Hand auf seine Jünger und sagte: „Das hier ist meine Mutter und das sind meine Brüder!50Jeder, der nach dem Willen meines Vaters im Himmel lebt, ist mir Bruder, Schwester und Mutter.“
1A cette époque, un jour de sabbat, Jésus traversait des champs de blé. Comme ses disciples avaient faim, ils se mirent à cueillir des épis pour en manger les grains[1]. (De 23:26; Mr 2:23; Lu 6:1)2Quand les pharisiens virent cela, ils dirent à Jésus: Regarde tes disciples: ils font ce qui est interdit le jour du sabbat!3Il leur répondit: N’avez-vous donc pas lu ce qu’a fait David lorsque lui et ses compagnons avaient faim?4Il est entré dans le sanctuaire de Dieu et il a mangé avec eux les pains exposés devant Dieu. Or, ni lui ni ses hommes n’avaient le droit d’en manger, ils étaient réservés uniquement aux prêtres.5Ou bien, n’avez-vous pas lu dans la Loi que, le jour du sabbat, les prêtres qui travaillent dans le Temple violent la loi sur le sabbat, sans pour cela se rendre coupables d’aucune faute?6Or, je vous le dis: il y a ici plus que le Temple.7Ah! si vous aviez compris le sens de cette parole: Ce que je veux, c’est la compassion bien plus que les sacrifices[2], vous n’auriez pas condamné ces innocents. (Ho 6:6)8Car le Fils de l’homme est maître du sabbat. (Mr 3:1; Lu 6:6)9En partant de là, Jésus se rendit dans l’une de leurs synagogues.10Il y avait là un homme paralysé d’une main. Les pharisiens demandèrent à Jésus: A-t-on le droit de guérir quelqu’un le jour du sabbat? Ils voulaient ainsi pouvoir l’accuser.11Mais il leur répondit: Supposez que l’un de vous n’ait qu’un seul mouton et qu’un jour de sabbat, il tombe dans un trou profond. Ne va-t-il pas le prendre et l’en sortir?12Eh bien, un homme a beaucoup plus de valeur qu’un mouton! Il est donc permis de faire du bien le jour du sabbat.13Alors il dit à l’homme: Etends la main! Il la tendit et elle redevint saine, comme l’autre.14Les pharisiens sortirent de la synagogue et se concertèrent sur les moyens de faire mourir Jésus.
Jésus le Serviteur de l’Eternel
15Quand Jésus sut qu’on voulait le tuer, il partit de là. Une grande foule le suivit et il guérit tous les malades.16Mais il leur défendit formellement de le faire connaître.17Ainsi devait s’accomplir cette parole du prophète Esaïe:18Voici mon serviteur, dit Dieu, celui que j’ai choisi, celui que j’aime et qui fait toute ma joie. Je ferai reposer mon Esprit sur lui et il annoncera la justice à tous les peuples.19Il ne cherchera pas querelle, il ne criera pas. On n’entendra pas sa voix dans les rues.20Il ne brisera pas le roseau qui se ploie et il n’éteindra pas la lampe dont la mèche fume encore. Il agira encore, jusqu’à ce qu’il ait assuré le triomphe de la justice[3]. (Isa 42:1)21Tous les peuples mettront leur espoir en lui[4]. (Isa 42:4)
Dieu ou Satan ?
22On lui amena encore un homme qui était sous l’emprise d’un démon qui le rendait aveugle et muet. Jésus le guérit, et l’homme put de nouveau parler et voir. (Mr 3:20; Lu 11:14; Lu 12:10)23La foule, stupéfaite, disait: Cet homme n’est-il pas le Fils de David?24Les pharisiens, ayant appris ce qu’on disait de lui, déclarèrent: Si cet homme chasse les démons, c’est par le pouvoir de Béelzébul[5], le chef des démons. (Mt 10:25)25Mais Jésus, connaissant leurs pensées, leur dit: Tout royaume déchiré par la guerre civile est dévasté. Aucune ville, aucune famille divisée ne peut subsister.26Si donc Satan se met à chasser Satan, il est en conflit avec lui-même. Comment alors son royaume subsistera-t-il?27D’ailleurs, si moi je chasse les démons par Béelzébul, qui donc donne à vos disciples le pouvoir de les chasser? C’est pourquoi ils seront eux-mêmes vos juges.28Mais si c’est par l’Esprit de Dieu que je chasse les démons, alors, de toute évidence, le royaume de Dieu est venu jusqu’à vous.29Ou encore: Comment quelqu’un peut-il pénétrer dans la maison d’un homme fort et s’emparer de ses biens s’il n’a pas, tout d’abord, ligoté cet homme fort? C’est alors qu’il pillera sa maison.30Celui qui n’est pas avec moi est contre moi, et celui qui ne se joint pas à moi pour rassembler, disperse.31C’est pourquoi je vous avertis: tout péché, tout blasphème sera pardonné aux hommes mais pas le blasphème contre le Saint-Esprit.32Si quelqu’un dit une parole contre le Fils de l’homme, il lui sera pardonné; mais si quelqu’un parle contre le Saint-Esprit, il ne recevra pas le pardon, ni dans la vie présente ni dans le monde à venir. (Lu 6:43)33Considérez ou bien que l’arbre est bon et que son fruit est bon, ou bien que l’arbre est mauvais et que son fruit est mauvais[6], car c’est à son fruit que l’on reconnaît l’arbre.34Espèces de vipères! Comment pouvez-vous tenir des propos qui soient bons alors que vous êtes mauvais? Car ce qu’on dit vient de ce qui remplit le cœur.35L’homme qui est bon tire de bonnes choses du bon trésor qui est en lui; mais l’homme qui est mauvais tire de mauvaises choses du mauvais trésor qui est en lui.36Or, je vous le déclare, au jour du jugement les hommes rendront compte de toute parole sans fondement[7] qu’ils auront prononcée.37En effet, c’est en fonction de tes propres paroles que tu seras déclaré juste, ou que tu seras condamné. (Mr 8:11; Lu 11:29)38Quelques spécialistes de la Loi et des pharisiens intervinrent en disant: Maître, nous voudrions te voir faire un signe miraculeux.39Il leur répondit: Ces gens de notre temps qui sont mauvais et infidèles à Dieu réclament un signe miraculeux! Un signe … il ne leur en sera pas accordé d’autre que celui du prophète Jonas.40En effet, comme Jonas resta trois jours et trois nuits dans le ventre du poisson[8], ainsi le Fils de l’homme passera trois jours et trois nuits dans le sein de la terre. (Jon 2:1)41Au jour du jugement, les habitants de Ninive[9] se lèveront et condamneront les gens de notre temps, car ils ont changé en réponse à la prédication de Jonas. Or, il y a ici plus que Jonas.42Au jour du jugement, la reine du Midi se lèvera et condamnera les gens de notre temps, car elle est venue du bout du monde pour écouter l’enseignement plein de sagesse de Salomon. Or, il y a ici plus que Salomon! (Lu 11:24)43Lorsqu’un esprit mauvais est sorti de quelqu’un, il erre çà et là dans des lieux déserts, à la recherche d’un lieu de repos, et il n’en trouve pas.44Il se dit alors: « Mieux vaut regagner la demeure que j’ai quittée. » Il y retourne donc et la trouve vide, balayée et mise en ordre.45Alors il va chercher sept autres esprits encore plus méchants que lui et les amène avec lui. Ils entrent dans la demeure et s’y installent. Finalement, la condition de cet homme est pire qu’avant. C’est exactement ce qui arrivera à ces gens de notre temps qui sont mauvais.
La vraie famille de Jésus
46Pendant que Jésus parlait encore à la foule, voici que sa mère et ses frères se tenaient dehors, cherchant à lui parler. [ (Mr 3:31; Lu 8:19)47Quelqu’un vint lui dire: Ta mère et tes frères sont là. Ils cherchent à te parler[10]].48Mais Jésus lui répondit: Qui est ma mère? Qui sont mes frères?49Puis, désignant ses disciples d’un geste de la main, il ajouta: Ma mère et mes frères, les voici.50Car celui qui fait la volonté de mon Père céleste, celui-là est pour moi un frère, une sœur, une mère.
