1 And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand. 2 And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him. 3 And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth. 4 And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace. 5 And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other. 6 And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him. 7 But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and from Judaea, 8 And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him. 9 And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him. 10 For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues. 11 And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God. 12 And he straitly charged them that they should not make him known. 13 And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him. 14 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, 15 And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils: 16 And Simon he surnamed Peter; 17 And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder: 18 And Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Canaanite, 19 And Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him: and they went into an house. 20 And the multitude cometh together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread. 21 And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself. 22 And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils. 23 And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan? 24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand. 26 And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. 27 No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house. 28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: 29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation: 30 Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit. 31 There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him. 32 And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee. 33 And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren? 34 And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! 35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

Vindecarea unui om cu mâna uscată, în ziua Sabatului

1 Isus a intrat din nou în sinagogă. Acolo era un om care avea o mână uscată. (Mt 12:9; Lu 6:6) 2 Ei Îl urmăreau pe Isus, ca să vadă dacă‑l va vindeca în ziua de Sabat și să‑L poată astfel acuza.^[1] 3 Isus i‑a zis omului care avea mâna uscată^[2]: „Ridică‑te și stai în mijloc!“ 4 Apoi le‑a zis: „Este voie în ziua de Sabat să faci bine sau să faci rău, să salvezi o viață sau să omori?“ Ei însă tăceau. 5 Și rotindu‑Și privirea peste ei cu mânie, mâhnit fiind de împietrirea inimii lor, i‑a zis omului: „Întinde‑ți mâna!“ El a întins‑o și mâna lui a fost făcută sănătoasă. 6 Dar fariseii, ieșind, au ținut imediat sfat cu irodienii^[3] împotriva Lui, gândindu‑se cum să‑L omoare.^[4]

Mulțimile Îl urmează pe Isus

7 Isus S‑a retras împreună cu ucenicii Săi înspre mare. Și o mare mulțime de oameni din Galileea L‑au urmat. De asemenea, o mare mulțime de oameni din Iudeea, (Mt 4:23; Mt 12:15; Lu 6:17) 8 din Ierusalim, din Idumeea, de dincolo de Iordan și din jurul Tyrului și al Sidonului, când au auzit despre tot ce făcea, au venit la El. 9 Isus le‑a zis ucenicilor Lui să‑I țină pregătită o barcă mică, din cauza mulțimii, ca să nu‑L îmbulzească. 10 Căci îi vindecase pe mulți și de aceea toți cei ce aveau boli se înghesuiau în jurul Lui ca să‑L atingă. 11 Când Îl vedeau, duhurile necurate cădeau înaintea Lui și strigau: „Tu ești Fiul lui Dumnezeu!“ 12 El însă le atenționa ferm să nu‑L facă cunoscut.

Alegerea celor doisprezece apostoli

13 Isus S‑a urcat pe munte și a chemat pe cine a dorit, iar ei au venit la El. (Mt 10:1; Lu 6:12; Ac 1:13) 14 A ales doisprezece, pe care i‑a numit apostoli, ca să fie cu El, să‑i trimită să predice 15 și să aibă autoritate să alunge demoni. 16 Cei doisprezece pe care i‑a ales au fost: Simon, căruia i‑a pus numele Petru; 17 Iacov, fiul lui Zebedei, și Ioan, fratele lui Iacov, cărora le‑a pus numele „Boanerges“, care înseamnă „Fiii tunetului“; 18 Andrei; Filip; Bartolomeu^[5]; Matei; Toma; Iacov, fiul lui Alfeu; Tadeu; Simon Zelotul^[6]; 19 și Iuda Iscarioteanul, cel care L‑a trădat^[7] pe Isus.

Isus și Beelzebul

20 A venit^[8] apoi în casă, dar mulțimea s‑a adunat din nou, așa că ei nu puteau nici măcar să mănânce. (Mt 12:22; Lu 11:14; Lu 12:10) 21 Când au auzit ai Lui ce se întâmplă, au ieșit să pună mâna pe El, căci ziceau că a Și‑a ieșit din minți. 22 Cărturarii care coborâseră de la Ierusalim ziceau că îl are pe BEELZEBUL^[9] și că alungă demonii cu ajutorul conducătorului demonilor. (2Ki 1:2; Mt 12:24) 23 Isus i‑a chemat la El și le‑a vorbit în pilde^[10]: „Cum poate Satan^[11] să‑l alunge pe Satan?! (Mr 1:13) 24 Dacă o împărăție este dezbinată împotriva ei înseși, împărăția aceea nu poate dăinui. 25 Iar dacă o casă este dezbinată împotriva ei înseși, casa aceea nu va putea dăinui. 26 Și dacă Satan se ridică împotriva lui însuși și este dezbinat, atunci nu poate dăinui, ci i‑a venit sfârșitul. 27 Dar nimeni nu poate să intre în casa celui puternic ca să‑i jefuiască bunurile, dacă nu‑l leagă mai întâi pe cel puternic. Abia atunci îi va jefui casa. 28 Adevărat vă spun că fiilor oamenilor le vor fi iertate toate păcatele și toate blasfemiile pe care le vor rosti, 29 dar cel ce blasfemiază împotriva Duhului Sfânt nu va avea parte de iertare în veci, ci este vinovat de un păcat veșnic.“ 30 Spunea astfel pentru că ei ziceau: „Are un duh necurat!“

Mama și frații lui Isus

31 Atunci mama și frații Lui au venit și, stând afară, au trimis să‑L cheme.^[12] (Mt 12:46; Lu 8:19) 32 Mulțimea care ședea în jurul Lui I‑a zis: – Iată că mama Ta, frații Tăi și surorile Tale sunt afară și Te caută. 33 Isus, răspunzându‑le, a zis: – Cine este mama Mea și cine sunt frații Mei? 34 Și, rotindu‑Și privirea peste cei ce ședeau în jurul Lui, a zis: – Iată mama Mea și frații Mei! 35 Căci cel ce face voia lui Dumnezeu, acela Îmi este frate, soră și mamă.
