1After these things Jesus shewed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias; and on this wise shewed he himself.2There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two other of his disciples.3Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.4But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.5Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No.6And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.7Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher's coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea.8And the other disciples came in a little ship; (for they were not far from land, but as it were two hundred cubits,) dragging the net with fishes.9As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread.10Jesus saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now caught.11Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, and hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken.12Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine. And none of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.13Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise.14This is now the third time that Jesus shewed himself to his disciples, after that he was risen from the dead.15So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.16He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.17He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.18Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not.19This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.20Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee?21Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do?22Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.23Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?24This is the disciple which testifieth of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true.25And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Isus li Se arată câtorva ucenici la Marea Tiberiadei
1După aceea, Isus li S‑a arătat din nou ucenicilor, la Marea Tiberiadei[1]. El S‑a arătat astfel: (Joh 6:1)2Simon Petru, Toma – cel numit „Didymos“[2] –, Natanael din Cana Galileei, fiii[3] lui Zebedei și alți doi dintre ucenicii lui Isus, erau împreună. (Joh 11:16)3Simon Petru le‑a zis: – Mă duc să pescuiesc. Ei i‑au zis: – Venim și noi cu tine. Au ieșit și s‑au urcat într‑o barcă, dar în noaptea aceea n‑au prins nimic.4Când se făcuse deja dimineață, Isus stătea pe țărm. Ucenicii însă nu știau că este Isus.5El le‑a zis: – Copilași, nu aveți ceva pește de mâncare? Ei I‑au răspuns: – Nu.6El le‑a zis: – Aruncați năvodul în partea dreaptă a bărcii și veți găsi! L‑au aruncat și nu l‑au mai putut trage din cauza mulțimii peștilor.7Atunci ucenicul pe care‑l iubea Isus[4] i‑a zis lui Petru: „Este Domnul!“ Auzind că este Domnul, Simon Petru și‑a pus haina pe el, pentru că era dezbrăcat, și s‑a aruncat în mare. (Joh 21:24)8Ceilalți ucenici au venit cu barca, trăgând năvodul cu pești, căci nu era departe de țărm, cam la două sute de coți[5] doar.9Când au coborât pe uscat, au văzut un foc de cărbuni, pește pus deasupra și pâine.10Isus le‑a zis: – Aduceți din peștii pe care i‑ați prins acum!11Simon Petru s‑a urcat în barcă și a tras năvodul la țărm, plin cu o sută cincizeci și trei de pești mari. Deși erau atât de mulți, năvodul nu s‑a rupt.12Isus le‑a zis: – Veniți și luați micul dejun! Niciunul dintre ucenici nu îndrăznea să‑L întrebe: „Cine ești?“, pentru că știau că este Domnul.13Isus S‑a apropiat, a luat pâinea și le‑a dat‑o. La fel a făcut și cu peștele.14Aceasta era deja a treia oară când Isus li Se arăta ucenicilor Săi după ce fusese înviat dintre cei morți.
Isus și Petru
15După ce au luat micul dejun, Isus l‑a întrebat pe Simon Petru: – Simone, fiul lui Ioan, Mă iubești tu mai mult decât aceștia? El I‑a răspuns: – Da, Doamne, Tu știi că Te iubesc! Isus i‑a zis: – Paște mieii Mei!16L‑a întrebat din nou, a doua oară: – Simone, fiul lui Ioan, Mă iubești? El I‑a răspuns: – Da, Doamne, Tu știi că Te iubesc! Isus i‑a zis: – Păstorește oile Mele!17L‑a întrebat a treia oară: – Simone, fiul lui Ioan, Mă iubești? Petru s‑a întristat pentru că‑i zisese a treia oară: „Mă iubești?“ și I‑a răspuns: – Doamne, Tu le știi pe toate, Tu știi că Te iubesc! Isus i‑a zis: – Paște oile Mele!18Adevărat, adevărat îți spun că, atunci când erai mai tânăr, tu însuți te încingeai și mergeai unde voiai. Însă, când vei îmbătrâni, îți vei întinde mâinile și altcineva te va încinge și te va duce unde nu vei voi.19A spus acestea ca să arate cu ce fel de moarte Îl va proslăvi Petru pe Dumnezeu. Apoi i‑a zis: – Urmează‑Mă!
Isus și ucenicul iubit
20Petru s‑a întors și l‑a văzut venind după ei pe ucenicul pe care‑l iubea Isus[6], acela care, la cină, se rezemase pe pieptul[7] lui Isus și‑L întrebase: „Doamne, cine este cel ce Te va trăda?“ (Joh 13:23; Joh 21:24)21Văzându‑l, Petru L‑a întrebat pe Isus: – Doamne, dar cu acesta ce va fi?22Isus i‑a răspuns: – Dacă vreau ca el să rămână până vin Eu, ce te privește pe tine?! Tu urmează‑Mă!23Din cauza aceasta s‑a răspândit zvonul printre frați că acel ucenic nu va muri. Dar Isus nu‑i spusese că nu va muri, ci: „Dacă vreau ca el să rămână până vin Eu, ce te privește pe tine?!“24Acesta este ucenicul care mărturisește cu privire la aceste lucruri și care a scris aceste lucruri. Și știm că mărturia lui este adevărată.25Mai sunt multe alte lucruri pe care le‑a făcut Isus, care, dacă ar fi fost scrise fiecare, cred că nici chiar lumea însăși n‑ar fi avut loc pentru cărțile care s‑ar fi scris.
