1And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.2And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.3And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.4And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.5And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.6And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.7And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.8And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.9And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:10And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?11And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.12And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;13And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.14And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.15And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;16And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:17For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

Und der darauf saß, hatte einen Bogen, und ihm wurde eine Krone gegeben, und er zog aus sieghaft und um zu siegen. (Zec 6:1; Re 19:11)3Und als es das zweite Siegel auftat, hörte ich das zweite Wesen sagen: Komm!4Und es kam heraus ein zweites Pferd, das war feuerrot. Und dem, der darauf saß, wurde Macht gegeben, den Frieden von der Erde zu nehmen, dass sie sich untereinander umbrächten, und ihm wurde ein großes Schwert gegeben.5Und als es das dritte Siegel auftat, hörte ich das dritte Wesen sagen: Komm! Und ich sah, und siehe, ein schwarzes Pferd. Und der darauf saß, hatte eine Waage in seiner Hand.6Und ich hörte etwas wie eine Stimme mitten unter den vier Wesen sagen: Ein Maß Weizen für einen Silbergroschen und drei Maß Gerste für einen Silbergroschen; aber dem Öl und Wein tu keinen Schaden! (2Ki 7:1)7Und als es das vierte Siegel auftat, hörte ich die Stimme des vierten Wesens sagen: Komm!8Und ich sah, und siehe, ein fahles Pferd. Und der darauf saß, dessen Name war: der Tod, und die Hölle[1] zog mit ihm einher. Und ihnen wurde Macht gegeben über den vierten Teil der Erde, zu töten mit Schwert und Hunger und Tod[2] und durch die wilden Tiere auf Erden. (Jer 14:12; Eze 14:21)9Und als es das fünfte Siegel auftat, sah ich unten am Altar die Seelen derer, die umgebracht worden waren um des Wortes Gottes und um ihres Zeugnisses willen. (Re 20:4)10Und sie schrien mit großer Stimme: Herr, du Heiliger und Wahrhaftiger, wie lange richtest du nicht und rächst nicht unser Blut an denen, die auf der Erde wohnen? (Ps 79:10)11Und ihnen wurde gegeben einem jeden ein weißes Gewand, und ihnen wurde gesagt, dass sie ruhen müssten noch eine kleine Zeit, bis vollzählig dazukämen ihre Mitknechte und Brüder, die auch noch getötet werden sollten wie sie.12Und ich sah: Als es das sechste Siegel auftat, da geschah ein großes Erdbeben, und die Sonne wurde schwarz wie ein härener Sack, und der ganze Mond wurde wie Blut, (Isa 24:23; Joe 3:3; Mt 24:29; Ac 2:20)13und die Sterne des Himmels fielen auf die Erde, wie ein Feigenbaum seine Feigen abwirft, wenn er von starkem Wind bewegt wird. (Isa 34:4)14Und der Himmel wich wie eine Schriftrolle, die zusammengerollt wird, und alle Berge und Inseln wurden wegbewegt von ihren Orten.15Und die Könige auf Erden und die Großen und die Obersten und die Reichen und die Gewaltigen und alle Sklaven und alle Freien verbargen sich in den Klüften und Felsen der Berge (Isa 2:10; Isa 2:19; Isa 2:21)16und sprachen zu den Bergen und Felsen: Fallt über uns und verbergt uns vor dem Angesicht dessen, der auf dem Thron sitzt, und vor dem Zorn des Lammes! (Ho 10:8; Lu 23:30)17Denn es ist gekommen der große Tag ihres Zorns und wer kann bestehen? (Joe 2:11; Am 5:18; Mal 3:2; Ro 2:5)
