1 Better is a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, than an house full of sacrifices with strife. 2 A wise servant shall have rule over a son that causeth shame, and shall have part of the inheritance among the brethren. 3 The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the LORD trieth the hearts. 4 A wicked doer giveth heed to false lips; and a liar giveth ear to a naughty tongue. 5 Whoso mocketh the poor reproacheth his Maker: and he that is glad at calamities shall not be unpunished. 6 Children' children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers. 7 Excellent speech becometh not a fool: much less do lying lips a prince. 8 A gift is as a precious stone in the eyes of him that hath it: whithersoever it turneth, it prospereth. 9 He that covereth a transgression seeketh love; but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends. 10 A reproof entereth more into a wise man than an hundred stripes into a fool. 11 An evil man seeketh only rebellion: therefore a cruel messenger shall be sent against him. 12 Let a bear robbed of her whelps meet a man, rather than a fool in his folly. 13 Whoso rewardeth evil for good, evil shall not depart from his house. 14 The beginning of strife is as when one letteth out water: therefore leave off contention, before it be meddled with. 15 He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD. 16 Wherefore is there a price in the hand of a fool to get wisdom, seeing he hath no heart to it ? 17 A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. 18 A man void of understanding striketh hands, and becometh surety in the presence of his friend. 19 He loveth transgression that loveth strife: and he that exalteth his gate seeketh destruction. 20 He that hath a froward heart findeth no good: and he that hath a perverse tongue falleth into mischief. 21 He that begetteth a fool doeth it to his sorrow: and the father of a fool hath no joy. 22 A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones. 23 A wicked man taketh a gift out of the bosom to pervert the ways of judgment. 24 Wisdom is before him that hath understanding; but the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth. 25 A foolish son is a grief to his father, and bitterness to her that bare him. 26 Also to punish the just is not good, nor to strike princes for equity. 27 He that hath knowledge spareth his words: and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit. 28 Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.

(Pr 15:17) 2 Ein kluger Knecht wird herrschen über einen schandbaren Sohn und wird mit den Brüdern das Erbe teilen. 3 Wie der Tiegel das Silber und der Ofen das Gold, so prüft der HERR die Herzen. (Ps 66:10) 4 Ein Böser achtet auf böse Mäuler, und ein Falscher hört gern auf schändliche Zungen. 5 Wer den Armen verspottet, verhöhnt dessen Schöpfer; und wer sich über eines andern Unglück freut, wird nicht ungestraft bleiben. (Pr 14:31) 6 Der Alten Krone sind Kindeskinder, und der Kinder Ehre sind ihre Väter. 7 Es steht einem Toren nicht wohl an, von hohen Dingen zu reden, viel weniger einem Edlen, dass er mit Lügen umgeht. 8 Ein Geschenk ist ein Zauberstein dem, der es gibt; wohin er sich kehrt, hat er Erfolg. 9 Wer Verfehlung zudeckt, stiftet Freundschaft; wer aber eine Sache aufrührt, der macht Freunde uneins. 10 Ein Scheltwort dringt tiefer bei dem Verständigen als hundert Schläge bei dem Toren. 11 Ein böser Mensch trachtet stets zu widersprechen; aber ein grausamer Bote wird über ihn kommen. 12 Besser einer Bärin begegnen, der die Jungen geraubt sind, als einem Toren in seiner Torheit. 13 Wer Gutes mit Bösem vergilt, von dessen Haus wird das Böse nicht weichen. 14 Wer Streit anfängt, gleicht dem, der dem Wasser den Damm aufreißt. Lass ab vom Streit, ehe er losbricht! 15 Wer den Schuldigen gerecht spricht und den Gerechten schuldig, die sind beide dem HERRN ein Gräuel. (Isa 5:23) 16 Was soll dem Toren Geld in der Hand, Weisheit zu kaufen, wo er doch ohne Verstand ist? 17 Ein Freund liebt allezeit, und ein Bruder wird für die Not geboren. (Pr 18:24) 18 Ein Tor ist, wer in die Hand gelobt und Bürge wird für seinen Nächsten. (Pr 6:1) 19 Wer Zank liebt, der liebt Sünde; und wer seine Tür zu hoch macht, strebt nach Einsturz. 20 Ein verkehrtes Herz findet nichts Gutes; und wer falscher Zunge ist, wird in Unglück fallen. 21 Wer einen Toren zeugt, muss sich grämen, und eines Toren Vater hat keine Freude. 22 Ein fröhliches Herz tut dem Leibe wohl; aber ein betrübtes Gemüt lässt das Gebein verdorren. (Pr 15:13; Pr 15:15) 23 Der Frevler nimmt gern heimlich Geschenke, zu beugen den Weg des Rechts. (Ex 23:8) 24 Ein Verständiger hat die Weisheit vor Augen; aber die Augen des Toren schweifen bis ans Ende der Welt. (Pr 4:25) 25 Ein törichter Sohn ist seines Vaters Verdruss und ein Gram für die Mutter, die ihn geboren hat. 26 Es ist nicht gut, dass man den Gerechten schindet oder den Edlen schlägt, der recht handelt. 27 Ein Vernünftiger mäßigt seine Rede, und ein verständiger Mann wird nicht hitzig. (Pr 10:19; Jas 1:19) 28 Auch ein Tor, wenn er schwiege, würde für weise gehalten und für verständig, wenn er den Mund hielte. (Job 13:5)
