Hebrews 3

1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus; 

2 Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house. 

3 For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house. 

4 For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God. 

5 And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after; 

6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. 

7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, 

8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: 

9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years. 

10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. 

11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.) 

12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. 

13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. 

14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; 

15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation. 

16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses. 

17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness? 

18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? 

19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

Christus höher als Mose

1 Darum, ihr heiligen Brüder und Schwestern, die ihr teilhabt an der himmlischen Berufung, schaut auf den Apostel und Hohenpriester, den wir bekennen, Jesus, (Heb 4:14) 

2 der da treu ist dem, der ihn gemacht hat, wie auch Mose in Gottes ganzem Hause. (Nu 12:7) 

3 Er ist aber größerer Herrlichkeit wert als Mose, so wie der Erbauer des Hauses größere Ehre hat als das Haus. 

4 Denn jedes Haus wird von jemandem erbaut; der aber alles erbaut hat, das ist Gott. 

5 Mose zwar war treu in Gottes ganzem Hause als Diener, zum Zeugnis für das, was später gesagt werden sollte, (Nu 12:7) 

6 Christus aber war treu als Sohn über Gottes Haus. Sein Haus sind wir, wenn wir den Freimut und den Ruhm der Hoffnung festhalten. (Eph 2:19; 1Pe 2:5) 

Der Weg der Väter und die Ruhe bei Gott

7 Darum, wie der Heilige Geist spricht: »Heute, wenn ihr seine Stimme hört, (Heb 4:7) 

8 so verstockt eure Herzen nicht, wie es geschah bei der Verbitterung am Tag der Versuchung in der Wüste, (Ex 17:7; Nu 20:2; De 6:16) 

9 wo mich eure Väter versuchten und prüften und hatten doch meine Werke gesehen 

10 vierzig Jahre lang. Darum zürnte ich diesem Geschlecht und sprach: Immer irren sie im Herzen! Aber sie verstanden meine Wege nicht, 

11 sodass ich schwor in meinem Zorn: Sie sollen nicht eingehen in meine Ruhe.« (Nu 14:21; Heb 4:3) 

12 Seht zu, Brüder und Schwestern, dass niemand unter euch ein böses, ungläubiges Herz habe und abfalle von dem lebendigen Gott; 

13 sondern ermahnt euch selbst alle Tage, solange es »heute« heißt, dass nicht jemand unter euch verstockt werde durch den Betrug der Sünde. (Jer 16:12; 1Th 5:11; Heb 10:25) 

14 Denn wir haben an Christus Anteil bekommen, wenn wir die erste Gewissheit bis zum Ende festhalten, (Heb 6:11) 

15 solange es heißt: »Heute, wenn ihr seine Stimme hört, so verstockt eure Herzen nicht, wie es bei der Verbitterung geschah.« 

16 Denn als sie das hörten, wurden einige verbittert, aber nicht alle, die von Ägypten auszogen unter Mose. (Ex 17:1; Nu 14:20) 

17 Und wem zürnte Gott vierzig Jahre lang? Waren’s nicht die, die sündigten und deren Leiber in der Wüste zerfielen? (Nu 14:29; 1Co 10:5) 

18 Wem aber schwor er, dass sie nicht in seine Ruhe eingehen sollten, wenn nicht den Ungehorsamen? (Nu 14:22) 

19 Und wir sehen, dass sie nicht hineinkommen konnten wegen des Unglaubens.
