The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.2He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.3He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name' sake.4Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.5Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Der HERR ist mein Hirt,

und führt mich zum Ruheplatz am Wasser. (Eze 34:13; Re 7:17)3Meine Lebenskraft bringt er zurück. /
Er führt mich auf Pfaden der Gerechtigkeit,
getreu seinem Namen. (Ps 25:4; Pr 4:11)4Auch wenn ich gehe im finsteren Tal,
ich fürchte kein Unheil;
denn du bist bei mir,
dein Stock und dein Stab, sie trösten mich. (Isa 50:10)5Du deckst mir den Tisch
vor den Augen meiner Feinde.
Du hast mein Haupt mit Öl gesalbt,
übervoll ist mein Becher. (Ps 16:5; Ps 36:9; Ps 92:11)6Ja, Güte und Huld werden mir folgen mein Leben lang /
und heimkehren werde ich ins Haus des HERRN
