Psalm 87

King James Version

1 A Psalm or Song for the sons of Korah. His foundation is in the holy mountains. 2 The LORD loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob. 3 Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. Selah. 4 I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon to them that know me: behold Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia; this man was born there. 5 And of Zion it shall be said, This and that man was born in her: and the highest himself shall establish her. 6 The LORD shall count, when he writeth up the people, that this man was born there. Selah. 7 As well the singers as the players on instruments shall be there : all my springs are in thee.

Psalm 87

English Standard Version

from Crossway

Glorious Things of You Are Spoken

1 A Psalm of the Sons of Korah. A Song. On the holy mount stands the city he founded; (Ps 42:1; Ps 48:1; Isa 28:16) 2 the Lord loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwelling places of Jacob. (Ps 78:67) 3 Glorious things of you are spoken, O city of God. (Ps 46:4; Isa 54:1; Isa 60:1) 4 Among those who know me I mention Rahab and Babylon; behold, Philistia and Tyre, with Cush[1]— “This one was born there,” they say. (Job 9:13; Ps 36:10; Ps 68:31; Isa 19:22; Joh 10:14) 5 And of Zion it shall be said, “This one and that one were born in her”; for the Most High himself will establish her. (Ps 48:8) 6 The Lord records as he registers the peoples, “This one was born there.” (Ps 69:28) 7 Singers and dancers alike say, “All my springs are in you.” (2Sa 6:14; Ps 36:9; Ps 68:25; Isa 12:3; Re 21:6)
