Psalm 123

King James Version

1 A Song of degrees. Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us.3 Have mercy upon us, O LORD, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.4 Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud.

Psalm 123

English Standard Version

1 A Song of Ascents. To you I lift up my eyes, O you who are enthroned in the heavens! (Ps 2:4; Ps 25:15; Ps 120:1; Ps 121:1; Ps 141:8)2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maidservant to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, till he has mercy upon us.3 Have mercy upon us, O Lord, have mercy upon us, for we have had more than enough of contempt. (Ne 4:4; Ps 4:1)4 Our soul has had more than enough of the scorn of those who are at ease, of the contempt of the proud. (Ne 2:19; Ps 119:51; Isa 32:9; Isa 32:11; Am 6:1)
